Some lines should never be crossed. But sometimes the temptation is too good to resist… again. Everything I thought I knew about my biological father and Mason’s role in my life? Turns out, it was all a lie. Every. Last. Word.
Now Mason’s back.
However, he offers no excuses, no explanations. He just wants me to be what he claims I’ve always been: his little girl.
But the ache inside me won’t be denied. The longing I feel isn’t one of a little girl who misses her father.
No.
I need Mason to be more than just a father figure.
More than a loving protector.
I need him to be my Daddy.

Author’s Note: The word “Dark” is in the title for a reason, folks. Please read responsibly…
Brace yourself for a twisted, forbidden romance so deliciously devious, it’ll tie you up by your heartstrings and then drag you along for the ride. If you’re a fan of forbidden love pairings, broody, protective Daddy figures, and contemporary Gothic vibes, then this book was tailor-made for your Kindle.
However, please be aware that this novella contains depictions of sexual activity within a highly taboo relationship dynamic, in addition to brief discussions of past sexual abuse.
If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of the above description, I recommend you sit this one out.more
Wow, my kindle caught fire!! This book deals with taboos that many authors would try to steer clear of. The subject was handled with compassion, with a real effort to try and convey the conflicting emotions about what the central characters Jett and Mason feel for each other and what is acceptable by society. Jett is now 18 years old and just found out that her mother had lied. Her father didn’t abandon her six years ago on his own accord, in fact, he wasn’t her biological father at all. When she seeks him out, they experience an onslaught of human emotions which tests the boundaries of father-daughter, artist soulmates and lovers as their irrepressible need for each other grows. Both the characters are immediately likeable, and I couldn’t help wishing that somehow, they can find a way to stay together, yet stay within the acceptable confines of the law. The storyline is flowing, all the dialogues and scenes are appropriate and so is the language. There is so much steam and hot sex, it will make you hot under the collar. The idea of love between stepfathers and stepdaughters is certainly not unheard of amongst Hollywood greats. This book was exhilarating to read. I’m looking forward to reading other works by this author. Brilliant editing enhanced the experience.

Once I got past the ook factors, I decided that I liked this story a lot. The characters were interesting and different.
Jett is a young woman searching for answers. She had Mason for part of her life as her father, but then he disappeared without explanation. Years later, she has found him, but she’s also found out that he isn’t her father. Jett hopes that he can give her clues to find her biological father as well as a reason why he left and never contacted her again. Mason refuses to give her an explanation and he says that she would have to talk to her mom about her biological father. Things have changed between them since they have been apart. Jett doesn’t feel like Mason is just a father figure, now she wants him to be her Daddy.
There were twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting, but just made the story better. The way Jett’s mom forced Mason to leave and cut off contact, actually affected him in ways that made him doubt himself and his feelings. Jett was awesome, telling him that her mother was wrong about him and he was wrong about himself. This has lots of feels and possible triggers (mentions of child abuse/rape, etc.) which is something I usually try to avoid. When they came up, I was so far in that I had to continue and I’m glad that I did. I loved their happy ever after. All in all, this was a great read and I recommend reading this book.

I’m going to tell you right upfront that this is one of those books. You are either going to embrace it because it pushes boundaries or detest it because it is too forbidden and it makes you uncomfortable and you know what? That is perfectly fine because everyone is allowed their opinion but I also think this is a book that is going to cause a lot of controversy, so if you want to read it, I suggest you get to it ASAP before the fallout starts. Now, as for myself I enjoyed this book. This is a forbidden romance that really skates the taboo edge and because of this it is not always an easy book to read. Mason and Jett’s romance is dark, twisted, sizzling hot and so incredibly complicated. I would be lying if I said that this book never gave me reason to pause though. There are just certain instances and situations that honestly I wish the author hadn’t inserted into this couple’s story because I think they really, really muddy the waters; so to speak, by adding a slant to the story and some red flag moments that, in my opinion this book would have been much better without.
This one gave me pause. I am a huge fan of edgy romance but this one was a little bit much for my taste. The element of Taboo is obvious from the start but Margot’s writing drew me in. The farther along in the story I got, the more I could see how this particular relationship could happen. Margot was able to lead me to acceptance of Mason and Jett’s relationship as unique to them. This is a good read if you can keep an open mind and heart.
I can’t say enough how much I LOVED this story. This was definitely a taboo love story, it was along the line of a K Webster book. I have suuuuuch a soft spot for DDLG content. This was such a great love story unconventional but great. Mason was so hot, and I adored him. Jetty was adorable and I could relate to her emotion wise. I’m sure this won’t be for everyone but I fell in love, I’m also new to this author and I’m really looking forward to reading more from her. Absolutely five stars. – By Tiffany
There is something about these kinds of stories, oh so naughty and guaranteed to bring plenty of drama. Mason, a famous artist and until she was twelve, was Jett’s father. Then he vanished and Jett’s mom wouldn’t tell her anything. Years later, she discovers he was never her dad biologically but again Jett’s mom won’t divulge who is. Jett goes to visit Mason and find out the truth. He won’t break her mother’s confidence. All those years apart and Jett’s hero worship of the man who made her feel like a princess has morphed into something else. When he reveals his own feelings, they embark on a secret relationship. To the world, he is her father and if discovered could destroy everything. I totally get why Jett had the hots for Mason, what woman wouldn’t. Jett came across as mature and at the same time not which I felt was totally in keeping with her age. She can’t help feeling territorial over Mason. Hot and taboo, Pretty, Dark and Dirty was also an emotional rollercoaster. Can’t wait to read more Margot Scott!
Mason Black means everything to Jett because he is my father, provider, and my protector. But all of sudden he ups and leaves, vanishes without a trace and leaves me lost and feeling alone which leaves her devastated. But several years later he shows up again and Jett’s life is falling apart again. Lies about Mason’s role her childhood ruin her and wondering what else was a lie when she was growing up. Mason gives Jett no excuse, explanation on why he left in the first place. Jett and Mason are both artist who are going up against the world and they are struggling with there feelings for each other. This is a forbidden romance that is dark and somewhat dirty. I would personally suggest picking up this book to see what happens when Jett and Mason are reunited again.
