Wow! What a wild ride this series has been. It’s completely blown my mind! I’m still struggling for words. As well as asking myself what the hell did I just read? It was so good!
If you are a lover of dark romance. I highly recommend this series. It’s so dark, twisted and all kinds of crazy. It will consume your every waking minute. It’s one of those stories that stays with you, even long after you’ve finished.
This is a hard review to write because although I did enjoy certain scenes in this book, there were also times when my attention wavered. Pretty Broken Dolls did not go the way I expected and I don’t essentially mean the storyline, as that is for the authors to decide it is more that I felt that this book was not so much a conclusion to the Pretty Little Dolls series but an introduction to another series titled The V games. I usually don’t mind this in a book, but in this instance, I felt it overpowered this storyline more than I liked.
The story during this instalment took a couple of unexpected twists and that was fine with me. I just wish that there had been more of the excitement that I experienced whilst reading the other books. I enjoyed that the story was told using multiple POVs, and it certainly helped with my understanding of the decisions that Dillon and his partner Marcus made towards the conclusion of whole storyline.
I don’t think you can read the first three books in the series and not continue reading this one, especially as book three ends on a cliffhanger. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series on the whole, but I just wish the authors had brought the storyline to a conclusion sooner.
This is the conclusion to a series, and you will need to read the previous books before diving into this one to fully understand and appreciate this book. (Can be purchased as a box set.) This is a dark and devious and taboo book. The sex is graphic and there is violence. Trigger alert! In this particular book, we get a much better understanding of the villains mindset and more background on them. (We got a little more knowledgeable with each book.) This chapter of the story is all about the villains. Because you know, villains need love too, and these authors know just how to make them and their evilness almost acceptable. Showing us their vulnerable sides. There are some surprises thrown in. A couple shocking twists. These characters are interesting (something you’ll want to examine under a microscope.) They are demented but there is also that previously mentioned vulnerability that makes the monsters just a little bit human. And in case you didn’t figure it out, this is meant for mature readers only.
First off – you have to read the first 3 books of this series in order to fully grasp what’s going on. Second – if you have triggers, tread lightly with this one (as with this entire series) because it is loaded with them. K Webster and Ker Dukey are the Queens of writing teams, in my opinion, and I have loved the nailed biting suspense they plotted with this one. Benjamin is back and even stronger with Viktor…add in the utmost crazy insanity of their “perfect doll” Elizabeth/Bethany – this is one of heck of a crazy train that doesn’t slow down until the end and even then I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these messed up characters.
What a finale!! If you have been following this series I have no doubt that you are dying to start book 4, if you haven’t started it, what are you waiting for? Benjamin is everything!! Word of caution though… this world is pretty dark. If you like your romance on the lighter side, this is not the series for you. 5 amazingly dark and twisted stars!!
I absolutely loved this book! This whole series was a super dark, twisted tale of madness and I devoured every page as fast as I could! The characters were fascinating. Some were loveable. Some I hated and never found redemption. The storyline was action packed and fast paced. The violence was brutal. The heat was off the charts sexy and twisted. If you’re looking for dark and dirty, read this right now!
What are great way to end such a nasty, messed up series! This series was so wrong, It was so messed up and the events were all crazy, yet it was so good. sometimes the villain just needs to be understood.
I’m sad its over, but these two together are just plain evil and so messed up that they make masterpiece!
I so glad at the direction this story took. Like all others in this series I was on the edge of my seat.
~Run, run, run, little doll. Monster and Master are ready to play.~
What an ending to a fantastic series. I will say this conclusion is nothing what I thought would be in store for Benny’s little playthings.
Monster and Master start off in a power struggle, but emotions and physical attractions between Monster, Master and Dolly present themselves. So much happens within this book that I cannot start at any point as it would not end there. You just have to read it to see how it all plays out!
I guess even monsters deserve some type of a happily ever after.
I don’t know, this one was not my favorite out of the series. Sure it still had the whole uncomfortable, disturbing shock and awe thing going on, but this book is mostly about Cassian/Viktor. I wasn’t a big fan of his even in the last book. I mostly kept putting the story down and skimming through. So I’m chalking it up to a big shoulder shrug with a side of meh.
I have not enjoyed a series this much in a long, long time…even if it was dark.
I have grown bored with contemporary romance, so I wanted something different and boy did i find it!!!
This series is dark and dirty. It has everything and I mean everything. Kidnapping, murder, rape, abuse, mental illness, crazy love, HOT, graphic sex scenes that were down right disturbing, but had me turning the pages nonstop.
Some characters you love, some you truly love to hate, and others that fooled me. It made me wonder if deranged behaviors are passed down from generation to generation.
if you can handle dark and dirty than you need to read this series. I am so exciting for the spin off series.
The formidable duo of Dukey & Webster bring us the forth book in the Dolls series. Benny the anti hero that you shouldn’t really love, should be turned if by his sick, depraved and dark mind but in reality you can get enough. Together with his accomplice Viktor / Cassian / Tanner sees this final part sink to a whole new depth of evil and disturbed. This book is not for the faint hearted but if you’ve read the previous three you’ll enjoy the ride.
Told from multiple POV the story continues along a similar path as the other three, twisting and turning with you never really knowing what the characters are going to do next & damn if the sex scenes between Benny & Viktor don’t leave you in an uncomfortable state heading straight for a cold shower!
I can’t decide if I liked the ending or not. I guess I was expecting a massive finale. I guess it works for what the authors have in store. I guess I was expecting something similar to book two! This has definitely been a throughly addictive series. I wasn’t sure if it was my thing when I first started but it didn’t take long for me to be dragged in to the life of Benny and his dolls.
If you like dark, depraved, disturbed, evil, push you out of your comfort zone books then this series is for you. Kudos to Kerry & Kristi, your writing is what keeps me reading!
I have been struggling with this review. I fell in complete and utter love with the Pretty Little Dolls series right from the beginning. Each installment escalated in it’s dark and torturous side. The twists continued, the mind manipulation continued, it’s gruesome and attention to detail continued taking me right there emotionally and psychologically. Each novel pulled me in to the point that I struggled to even comprehend what I was reading. So deliciously written.
But then we have this installment, the final in this series. The anticipation was a killer and I couldn’t wait to dive in.
As I sit here after completing it more than twenty-four hours a go, I have to be honest I am not sure what or how I feel.
The ending was definitely not what I expected. Maybe that is the reason for my mixed emotions, I am not sure.
We again are back to Benny, Jade and Dillon’s world. We are also catapulted into the world of Tanner, Lucy, Elizabeth, Elsie and Marcus.
Again their lives are turned upside down at the hands of Benny and Tanner and their evil and sinister ways.
But we see new players in this game. We see new evil surface. We see some do anything they can to get and keep their dolly’s.
Another installment dark, soaked in torment and pain. and I did love it. The authors again did a brilliant job with this novel.
I guess it was a mind blowing ending that I still quite haven’t wrapped my head around hence the struggle with my review.
I will miss Benny and Jade.
4 stars.
“He towers over my cage, his arms folded across his massive chest. It’s as though he’s a vengeful god—a god I created. And what does that make me? The ultimate master.”
Finally!!! The conclusion to an amazing series and Benny’s never ending quest to find the “Perfect Doll”. This book was by far the darkest and most brutal of them all. I’m not sure how these ladies come up with this stuff, but it is gut wrenching and sucks you in, never letting you come up for air. In a way I almost felt like I was one of the characters in the book, fighting my way to the end to see what happened, and in my opinion, it didn’t disappoint! It definitely wasn’t the HEA I was expecting, but I loved the surprise!
“I’ve always been loyal to you, Benjamin. It’s Monster and Master. You know this. You feel it.”
The deeper I got into this book, the more I realized that the book wasn’t about “broken dolls” so much as broken puppet masters. Each on their own, a force to be reckoned with. I loved how they each were different and twisted in their own ways, and I loved watching how they interacted with one another. Again… I’m pretty sure K & K spent some time interviewing serial killers because I found the story to be credible and angsty. If I had nails, I would have been chewing on them throughout the entire book!! LOL
“My eyes dart back and forth between these two monsters. One is calculating and calm. The other is unpredictable and feral. Together, they’re what motherfucking nightmares are made of.”
This book gives us the remainder of the back ground behind the horrific trio, giving the reader insight as to how they all came to be. I should also add that this book had the most surprises in it for me. Some were like an OMG moment and then some were like a WTF moment! Hahahaha. It was fantastic. I love books that throw twists in that I never see coming.
“You have no idea what I’m capable of,” I whisper. I can be a monster too. It’s in our DNA.”
The WTF moments… they had me cringing a bit…. And I don’t cringe at much. K & K do such a phenomenal job describing the situations and “events” that are happening, I was literally able to visualize what was taking place, which just added to my enjoyment and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book!
“I’m Monster. He’s Master.” His kisses my mouth. “And you’re our perfect little doll.”
Whoa…. What a series… darker and darker the further down the rabbit hole you go! So many emotions where felt while reading this series which makes it a really powerful one. The ending, very fitting for the series I think, and I love the fact that a spin off series is in the works. I’m so excited to see where K & K take us next with our favorite psychopaths! LOL
“Run, run, run, little doll. Monster and Master are ready to play.”
