“Sweet, funny and off the charts chemistry!” –Sassy Southern Book Blog Fake relationship small town romanceI’ve gotten into my fair share of awkward situations… Although, asking a random stranger to be my fake boyfriend is by far the worst. In my defense, it was an act of desperation. An act I hope will keep away the men in town who see me as their ticket to becoming the mayor’s son-in-law.But … the mayor’s son-in-law.
But I have a plan.
1. Date my fake boyfriend long enough for the news to spread across town.
2. Have a very public breakup that leaves me too heartbroken to move on.
3. Continue living my happily single life.
There’s only one problem… Harris wasn’t supposed to be the kind of man I’ve always wanted.
There’s no denying the sparks that fly between us. Just when I’m about to give him my heart, he does the one thing I can’t forgive.
Our breakup is public all right, and the heartbreak is real.

I really didn’t think anyone could top Axel, but Harris took the number one spot in my heart. He was just pure perfection from the very beginning when Poppy stumbled upon him checking out the jerky selection. Harris agrees to be Poppy’s fake boyfriend for a while to ward off others that she has no desire to ever be with, but things take a turn and feelings become too real. Harris is kind, loving, supportive, protective, and everything anyone would want and Poppy wants him to be hers for real, so can they have a real relationship and one that lasts or is this just a temporary thing that just got feelings twisted? A very hot and steamy epic love story and can’t wait for Averly and Eli’s book. This is an epic read that I have already read multiple times and will always be one I default back as a great read.
I love reading Fabiola, I know that no matter how deep into the darker side of romance I get, she will pull me back and give me a breath of fresh air.
Now I have to say, I was already hooked with Harris from meeting him in Knox’s book, so getting to really know him in this was the best! Plus, the concept… I freakin’ love it! Fake boyfriend? Yes. Over Jerky? Uh yes times two. Small town fun/drama? SIGN ME UP! If any of those things make your heart happy… You need Poppy and Harris in your life!
On to Mr. Harris… Jerky aficionado, true southern gentleman, and sexy as sin? Where do I sign up for him to be my “fake” boyfriend? Cause who are we kidding, I’d take that in a real man any day! I just love that he saw a girl in need, and instead of walking away he went with the flow. If that doesn’t make you want to swoon, I don’t know what will.
Then we have our lovely Poppy! Small town royalty of sorts, who just wants to live her life, and not be a prize to the local betting pool. She really gets involved in her town festivities, and doesn’t let the outsiders ruin it for her. Girl after my own heart! I got a laugh out of watching her dig herself a hole with her “fake” relationship, and freaking jumped for joy when it became more.
Between new faces, and returning friends from Everton, I love that each time I open up a book from this series it’s like being one of the crew. All gathering for a drink at Clarke’s to swap stories and spend time with good company. Always a treat in my mind, hopefully it will be for you too.
Poppy was born in Everton and has only left for college, but came back to her home town. She is so sick of all the small town rumors and gossip, all she wants is to live her life and be happy. But the locals think they know her better than she knows herself, well she will show them! She makes an arrangement with Harris to be her fake boyfriend for her father’s upcoming Mayoral dinner. But she never expected to actually start to like him and not want any of this to be fake. Now Harris has just moved to Everton and has always lived in large towns and doesn’t get why or how everyone knows everyone’s business. But when Poppy makes the proposal he’s up for anything, but he too didn’t expect to actually enjoy spending his time with her and not wanting to let her go once the dinner is over. They both have to learn to trust each other and forget what the others are saying about anything and let their love grow.
An enjoyable and exciting fake romance. It is a slow delicious burn, engaging, well written, well developed, and emotionally deep guaranteed to pull you in from the first page. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is off the charts. Definitely recommended!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fabiola Francisco did a great job on this story, Pretend You’re Mine had a strong plot, it was written well. I enjoyed Harris and Poppy’s story. What started out fake turned into something so much stronger. From the moment Poppy and Harris laid eyes on one another, they were drawn to each other, the attraction was strong between them. The more time they spent together, the stronger their connection became. They were made for each other, their chemistry was off the charts, it was sexy and sweet. Harris and Poppy were great together. Then heartache came along.
I’m going to stop there. I don’t want to give much more away. The best I can suggest is, to read this story, it was great. I enjoyed it.
Thank you, Fabiola Francisco. Great work 🙂
Utterly swoonworthy! Pretend You’re Mine by Fabiola Francisco is a book about friendship, love and fate. With her smart and sexy prose, Fabiola allows her readers to fall in love with her charming and exceptionally endearing characters. I’m so in love with the Everton Series. I loved this story. This was such a great addition to the series. Loved Harris and Poppy. They meet by accident when she is at the store and she needed a way to get a guy to leave her alone. Enter Harris and a fake relationship. They were so good together and I loved watched how the fake relationship slowly starting to become real. Such a great read with wonderful characters and I can’t wait to read more.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
4 1/2 stars
This was a perfect small town romance with lots of feel good moments, laughter, witty banter, flirting, drama and romance. This is the first book I’ve read in this series and I will definitely be going back and reading the ones I’ve missed. This author has a new fan in me. Happy reading!!
The swooniest, feel good, small town romance!
Heartfelt, and hilarious, this friends to lovers story had me falling in love with all things in Everton!
This is book 3 in the Love in Everton Series, it can be totally enjoyed as a standalone.
I loved this book! Harris is my fave so far. His and Poppy’s story is so sweet. Everton is a small town and being the mayor’s daughter is hard. Poppy is used to everyone being in her business. She’s tired of the guys trying to be in her life for the sake of dating the mayor’s daughter. So when she’s cornered by an annoying guy she uses Harris as her fake boyfriend. Such a fun read. I laughed out loud at these characters. This author has a way of pulling you into a story. If you like small town romance with all the feels this book is for you!
I love the town of Everton. Fabiola Francisco brings us another great couple that find love in the small town of Everton. Harris and Poppy have such great chemistry and he is oh so swoony! This fake relationship to the real deal with have you so hooked. Harris is the sweetest and he might just be my fave of the boys. It’s nice to see the others from the previous books. I highly recommend this book if you are into the small town romances.
A sweet, fun addition to this series.
I love that Fabiola jumps right on into our characters’ chance meeting. It gives us the rest of the book to fall in love with these two and watch their relationship develop into what we already know will be so much more.
Harris, city boy that he is, wasn’t prepared for all the small town rivalry and gossip. The only thing he has his sights set on, is how to make Poppy his.
And Poppy is not the type to be settling down anytime soon. Being the Mayors daughter keeps her on her guard, so much so that its difficult to see what is fake and what is real.
I swear it seems like every one of the books in this series could be read as small town romance at its finest. Pretend Your Mine is no different. Light, funny, and perfectly tailored for a Sunday afternoon.
I really enjoyed the first two books in the Love in Everton series and Pretend Your Mine is the best one yet. I loved the storyline but the characters were the best part of this book. Harris was a doll, a sexy “cowboy” with such a good heart. I could feel the chemistry between Harris and Poppy jumping off the pages, they just clicked. I loved the small-town romance that gave such an at-home feel, add friends and family from the previous books and I felt like I was part of the gang. I am looking forward to the next book Eli has stood out in these stories. Great Book!!
Book three in the Love in Everton series and I want to read the rest of the books in this series as this is the first one that I have read. I enjoyed seeing how Harris and Poppy go from fake to getting their happy ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a great addition to this series!!
I love fake relationship stories and this one is fantastic! Poppy needs a fake boyfriend, fast. Harris happens to be the perfect person to step in and help. I love Harris so much! He jumped right in and fell hard. Poppy was a really fun character and they were perfect together.
I can’t wait for more from this series!!
4.5 Stars!
Pretend You’re Mine, Book 3 in the Love in Everton series, is the first book I’ve read from Fabiola Francisco, but it certainly will not be my last. I plan to go back and read the books I missed in this series because I absolutely adored all of the characters.
I am a huge fan of small town romance, and this book did not disappoint. Harris is everything a girl could ask for in a fake boyfriend. He is smart, funny, charming, sweet, down to earth, and oh so swoon-worthy!
Poppy is…hysterical! She leaps before looking, which gets her in to all sorts of situations. My one complaint is that she was a little too stubborn and too quick to assume the worst.
I loved the chemistry and spark between these two, and how hard they tried to convince themselves that they were just pretending! And that first kiss…wow!
Bring on Book 4!
Pretend You’re Mine is the first book in this series and by this author that I have read. I love reading and following Harris and Poppy’s story as they start out to get her father to leave her alone, to finding love. I enjoyed meeting the other characters in the book, and will be going back to read their stories as well.
I thought this book was written so well. I could not put it down. This one was a great story followed by great chemistry and characters.
Pretend You’re Mine is the third title in the Love in Everton series, and if you’re looking for a sweet, light read with minimal angst this is the book for you.
Poppy and Harris story is a small town romance, and is of the fake relationship trope.
Both these characters are down to earth, endearing and relatable. Poppy is a sweet, shy, kind, caring, loyal and loving heroine. Whilst Harris is a charming, sweet and sexy gentleman.
Pretend You’re Mine is a enjoyable read, and I loved seeing the previous couples appear within this storyline.
This was my first Fabiola Francisco read ever. While it is book 3 it can be read as a standalone.
I loved this take on a meet-cute. It was a bit awkward but I loved it all. Poppy herself is a bit awkward.
This fake relationship turned real was funny and swoony. Harris was an amazing hero. Sweet and kind. I loved him and his love of jerky.
Overall an amazing read and will recommend.
