Praise for Presenting the Marriage of Kelli Anne & Gerri Denemer
“Once in a while, you come across a book that you read and re read and then, you read it back and forth, underlining passages that have left a mark on your heart and soul. PD Alleva’s ‘Presenting the Marriage of Kelli Anne & Gerri Denemer’ is one such work. It is raw, tragic, numbing, disturbing and beautiful in the same breath. I have underlined many passages in the book, passages that should be on the wall, right next to where you sleep, so that you can read them first thing in the morning.” –Dr. Henana Berjes, Author of the International Best Seller, The Mahzur
“Genius. I fell in love with this story; the concept, the messages, the characters, all laced with powerful elements. ‘you drive that hate of love from one life to the next with no recourse, regret, nor redemption of your soul.’ A phenomenon that is explored by many as they search for the meaning of life. Brilliantly written, with an edge of your seat pace, I was riveted from the first page to the last. This was an intellectual read with so many facets, it should be read by all. Maybe we will all take something different from it – possibly the author intended it that way – but embrace the journey – ‘reach into the darkness and pull out the light.’” -Sharon Turner, Author of A Hare in the Wilderness
“I put the book down and found myself thinking about the depths of the story. Wondering how the book would end. It was like a puzzle that I had to put together. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The more I read the more sense it made, and finally towards the end of the book the story came together beautifully. This book stimulates deep thought and a newfound curiosity into questions that the reader may have had put to rest. I finished this book feeling a calm stillness. Somehow, no matter what you believe, this book seems to make sense of the evil and the good in the world. An excellent read!” — Davi Hadara, Independently Thinking

Fascinating. On one hand, this is a paranormal, psychological thriller, keeping you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see how events turn out. On the other hand, it’s a spiritual journey leading you through a love/hate, good/evil, lost/redemption situation. It shows how evil twists itself into the norm of our lives, corrupting the good, and how it’s our choice to let it or force it to leave. The book is one you’ll want to reflect on. So many words of wisdom fill its pages.
I am a sensitive reader and as such seeing the F word on the first few pages nearly put me off from continuing to the second chapter of this book. I’m not ashamed to say that seeing that kind of thing gratuitously featured throughout a book literally makes my eyes bleed. But the writing surrounding the profane language was of such excellent quality that I kept reading anyway because I wanted to know what would happen next. I want to let every potential reader know that I am glad I did because I quickly came to realize the author only placed it there in those first few pages to jolt the psyche with a sense of the mind-numbing horrors to come.
This is a very good story that offers a genuinely frightening walk into the afterlife of Gerri Denemer. A phantom-like chaperone guides Gerri through a path of various personal hells as well as through different scenes of his previous life in an attempt to help him reach a chance for redemption.
A particularly unsettling funereal scene featuring his mother sucked a disturbing memory from my own past. When I was but an 11 year old girl, my family lived in a poor neighborhood just on the edge of ‘the wrong side of the tracks’. One fateful evening my mother ventured to the other side for some milk for my 3 year old sister. All went well, until walking out of the small corner store, she was robbed by several young hoodlums who threw her to the ground and held a gun to her head. They ripped her purse from her arm and snatched a thin gold necklace from her throat while threatening to take my baby sister with them. Somehow, by the grace of some higher power, they were scared away from the scene before they could act on that terrible prospect and my mother made it home – shaken to her core, but safe and alive – with her small child unharmed.
As the chaperone told Gerri in that gripping scene which had reminded me of my own past, “In a world where evil walks in the shadows, unnoticed, unseen, and in the eyes of the world nonexistent, working through the heart of humans to keep its grip on the world without their knowledge.”
This is something of which I completely agree. My mother and my little sister survived their encounter with evil whereas Gerri’s mother did not survive a similar encounter with malevolent hate.
The chaperone went on to say, “You can’t fight something that you aren’t aware is pulling the strings of your mind. You can’t fight the world when it’s been blinded by evil.”
This story really made me think. It is about the moments that make us what we become. The same experience can make one love or can make one hate. It’s all a choice which each of us has to make. It is something we all must face in our struggles to live in the light of love.
I highly recommend that you read it with an open heart and mind.
In Presenting the Marriage of Kelli Anne and Gerri Denemer, Alleva has written a book that’s gripping, pertinent and thought provoking. The action scenes are nicely punctuated with introspective musings that apply to every person ever, while the dreamlike, fantastical elements hold the reader’s attention like a vice grip. The important truths that are transmitted are lessons well learned and presented in such a way that they are easily taken to heart. It is staggering to think that we have the power to hurt, save, destroy and love each other in so many complex and interwoven ways. My compliments to Alleva for providing a great read and so much more.
