If you told me my predictable life would soon be turned upside down, I wouldn’t believe you. But it did…it exploded. I’m only twenty-four and too young for such responsibility. They never taught this in business school.Alec McCrae inherited his father’s business savvy, making him the one to run the family company. He’s serious minded and a workaholic. Never allocating time to have fun. But when … have fun. But when Alec is dealt a wild card he never saw coming, he must face the biggest challenge in his life.
Ride along with Alec for the crazy twists and turns in the prequel to The Scottish Billionaire, M. S. Parker’s new steamy billionaire romance.

This is a great start to what I’m sure will be another brilliant series by this author.
As always great characters with plenty of back story and lots of steamy scenes. I really love Alec and look forward to reading more of his story.
Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the story of Alec and Kelli. He just wants to have some fun but she is a young college girl who goes overboard. He starts to think she is a little to clingy. He is a little concern when she goes radio silent. Little does he know that things are going to change in a big way.
Simple and unpredictable
4.5
I really liked this prequel, both for its characters and for their story which is as predictable as unpredictable, and quite hot. I spent my time wondering how the heroine Keli would react to Alec’s behavior, because what seems to be a romance like “and they lived happily ever after”, corresponds more to a realistic story. This is all the more surprising since the story is only told by Alec.
The night of Halloween, Alec, a very wealthy CEO, meets Keli, a student, who called him to help the sister of a friend of his who is too drunk to come home.
He appreciates Keli and when he meets her before Christmas by chance, they go to dinner together and seduce each other. But where the young Keli thinks of building a relationship, Alec only benefits from a carnal relationship, and this difference in interpretation is important.I liked the way this difference is treated and written.

This was my second book by this author and I am really starting to enjoy her writing style. She definitely knows how to build excitement and keep the reader engaged. This story is just a prequel novella in The Scottish Billionaire series but I can already tell its gonna be a good series based off the plot and the chemistry in this story.
Since it is such a short story I’m not gonna recap the plot. I recommend this book!

She’s not the one.
Alec lives in Seattle and immediately gets it on with Keli.
HFN.
Spoiler alert.
I purchased this book and it’s a prequel.
Alec in book two is with another girl.
This is the Prequel to The Scottish Billionaires Series
This is the the story of Alec & Keli. Alec moved to California from Ireland when he was a child, and then to Seattle to open a second office of his family’s business, MIRI – McCrae International Research Institute, which he was CEO. Keli is an artist and is in college. She is taking art history. They meet when Keli and her friends are at a party and their friends left them there. Her friend’s cousin told her to call Alec if they ever got in tight spot, so since her friend was drunk, Keli called him. They do have a sexual relationship with chemistry, but they have nothing else in common, but Alec doesn’t feel anything more for Keli. He wants to end it with her, but then she tells him quite a surprise at the end. This was a great prequel to the first book of the series. Can’t wait to read it.
There was not really any romance involved in this story, as mainly Alec McCrae had met Keli Miller through a friend. She was nineteen, a college freshman, and he was in his mid-twenties, the the CEO of his family’s company in Seattle. The first time they met he gave her and his friend’s cousin a ride home from a frat party. The next time he saw her was during semester break, and he gave her a ride do to the weather. She lived in California and was not able to go to home for the break, so he felt sorry for her taking her on to dinner. That was how they became sex buddies. Alec may have been a CEO, but he was a really nice guy and did not want to hurt her feelings. He knew he needed to break things off, but he was afraid of hurting her feelings. When things finally came to an end he was so relieved. Then his world did come crashing down around him. The only thing Alec and Keli had in common was sex, and they could not even carry on a conversation. Was this entrapment on the part of Keli or just an honest accident? We will have to wait until the next book to find out.

Hot and interesting. I wish I could hear Alec’s accent WOW makes me all fluttery.
I started reading the main book, but was a little surprised by the abrupt end with Keli and only the mention of their daughter. Will be fun to see if/when/how she shows up.

Short, quick, steamy read that can be read in one sitting. Keli and Alec meet when she calls him to pickup both her and her roommate who are to drunk to get home. Things progress from there when they run into each other again. Steamy right from the start all the way through. There is a cliffhanger.
What a great start of a new series! Alec is a hot, billionaire with an accent! He’s originally from Scotland, but moved to the United States when he was a kid. He’s married to his job and doesn’t have time for socializing or relationships. However, when he meets Keli their chemistry is off the chart. He’s in it for a good time and plans on breaking it off, sooner than later and before she starts to think they have a relationship. Until……….
This was a great, quick, steamy read! The characters were great, and although it didn’t end the way I hoped it would, I’m sure M.S. Parker has a reason for this!

The story line and character work were good. The book had a smooth flow to it. This was a nice prequel to wet your whistle for the main event. I look forward to the “first” book in the series.

This story is as it says a prequel. It gives us insight to Keli and Alec. They show they have physical chemistry but mentally not that close. They show us their personalities that at times harder to relate to. It is extremely well written and has a lot of drama at times. The flow of the story is superb and keeps you engaged. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the next book.

3.5 Prequel Stars
Alec meets Keli when he fulfills a promise to a friend to keep an eye on his younger sister and Keli just happens to be her roommate.
The prequel has promise but I have to admit the chemistry between Keli and Alec didn’t make me feel as though I’d combust from their encounters unlike other stories by M. S. Parker. Now that I think about it, I’m wondering if it could be Alec’s attitude as opposed to the story itselfI’m hoping the first book itself will be better which I’ll read in the next day or so

This prequel is an amazing story all by itself. The suprise in the end really got to me. It is a great taster of what to come and I can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

I smell trouble coming! Alec definitely is a guy with good intentions but his need to calculate outcomes clearly doesn’t help him when it comes to Keli. Plus he needs to learn a bit more about how to handle personal life. Not that she is a bad person. They just don’t have that magic together, just a good chunk of hot combustible physical desire.
The way the book is written just plants that seed of doubt of what is to come. And it’s like that saying of watching a train wreck about to happen but not being able to look away. And in all honesty it’s too bad that Alec responds in the most predictable way even though it makes for good entertainment down the road. So I’m hoping he corrects those natural and basic impulses with what is to come. He will need it. Still, kudos to the author for keeping me intrigued. I’m really rooting for Keli and Alec to prove me wrong.
I’m surprised I liked this prequel as much as I did. I really felt having it told in Alex’s voice was so important because knowing what he is thinking through the various stages of his encounters with Keli are critical to how the prequel ends and tells us how Alec becomes the man in the story “Off Limits”.
I really look forward to reading “Off Limits” knowing this background because through it all I found that I really liked Alec and the young man he was and I wonder how this changes him.
