Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck. He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the … to end the life he loves.
Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.
Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.
And their deaths.
For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.
This is book 5 in the KING series and it is highly recomended that you read the previous four books to best enjoy Preppy’s story.

You thought he was dead…you thought wrong. Read Preppy’s story before his brother’s book, Nine, releases in June!
Read Preppy’s story before his brother’s book, Nine, releases in June!
Oh Preppy….. this book had me hanging on every freaking word until the very end and then I couldn’t one-click part two fast enough! I’m so ready for another wild ride where Preppy and Dre are concerned because the jaw-dropping moments have me needing more!
“A wicked smile, a bowtie…and a gun.”
I finally got to Preppy…I’ve inhaled the entire rest of this series, but snagged this trilogy boxset awhile ago and just never got to it….Spending a weekend with Preppy was awesome. He is a snarky, entertaining, multi-faceted icon and I love him to death!! It’s never a dull moment and I couldn’t get enough of this wild ride!! One of the most memorable characters out of all the books I’ve read since I’ve been blogging…period!! Beautiful, broken, zany, and addictive, I couldn’t, wouldn’t, didn’t put this trilogy down until I got to the end!!!
“She was the girl I was in love with. The girl I would always be in love with. Until my very last breath.”

OMG!!!! I love Preppy. At first I was hesitant about reading Preppy’s story as of the way he is portrayed in King and Bears stories. But I am so glad that my OCD got the better of me. (I can’t stand unfinished things) I had to wait till part 3 was released before I started part 1 as I also can’t stand having to wait to read the next book. I am loving Preppy and Dre and can’t wait to start part 2.
Holy balls just finished Preppy and oh my goodness absolutely loved it, I didn’t think t.m. Frazier could go better than king but she did with bear and then I thought well I did love preppy he was such an intriguing character in all books and thought yeah this will be a good book. Well it wasn’t just good it was fantastic, amazing so so good.
I loved Preppy in the other books and wanted to know so much more about him and part one was the best introduction into his life that I couldn’t have asked for.
It was awesome to find out about his past, what made him tick, how he lived his life getting over things that happened in his past and he has the best sense of humours I loved the way he was written. I would say he is my fav book boyfriend but there is something about him that makes him one of my fav characters ever.
So what does a guy like Preppy need, a strong, challenging, broken girl, and of course he finds one in he name of dre, he saved her and brought her back to life and she did the same for him and it was beautiful. I loved dres character, she was weak but strong, she was lost and broken, she picked her self up and got lost in Preppys world for a while, but she’s a fighter and that’s what love about her character.
This book was dark, violent, had drug use, had dirty hot sex, I laughed I cried. I had every emotion invested in this book. Don’t be a fool like me, if you haven’t read it yet do it, and if you haven’t even read a T.M. Frazier book stop everything your reading and devour her books they are amazing
I am so excited about this book and could start reading it again already. My reviews don’t have spoilers but this book left us with a cliffhanger and this will be I think one of my most anticipated books for future release I can’t wait to read it already.
Well mrs Frazier you have done it again loved loved loved Preppy 5+++++++++++ stars are not even enough
I love Samual Clearwater. He is a Badass MOFO!
Of course we all know from reading books 1-4 that Preppy is the most interesting character of them all. We also know that he died at the end of book one in a shootout at the MC which was set-up by Bear’s Father. Prep had such a profound effect on everyone’s lives that they all have been hearing inner commentary in his voice since he died.
At the end of book 4 we found that Bear’s father had been keeping a hidden prison in the MC clubhouse where he was starving and torturing a bunch of prisoners, former club members, club whores, and even Bear’s Mother until she escaped. Preppy has been kept there also and was very near death.
This book looks back on a romance Preppy had with a girl named Dre during the time that King was in Prison and Bear was away on a long ride with the MC. It has alternating chapters forwarded to the the time when Preppy was being held in the MC prison to show how that happened and what went on during that time.
Like the other books, the romance is ultra hot and steamy, even a bit dark and twisted, but not as bad as you would expect from what you have heard about Preppy in previous books. The story is great and unpredictable just like the others. You can’t help but love Samuel Clearwater. I would definitely marry him!
Holy crap! I had forgotten how much these books just swallow you whole! And how much I loved Preppy!!
This is not an easy read but holy hell it is so worth it! And that ending?!! I am off to dive into Preppy: Part two……..after taking some deep breaths!!
This marks the third time I have reread Preppys story. He is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends. I fell for him from the first words out of his mouth in King. I have never wanted a character back from the abyss more than Preppy. This book takes place as a prologue really to king. King had been dropped off at prison and Preppy meets Dre a junkie who’s the granddaughter of of of the grandmothers in the granny grow house venture.
He pulls her back from the brink with his own brand of tough love and twisty goodness. She does the same for him. I’m a sucker for scenes in which the characters confront the others demons unflinchingly and I love how they do that for one another. Their banter and chemistry is top notch. And the steam
I know a lot of people refrained from reading this because they didn’t think they could take the feels after what happened to Preppy but trust me read his story you will thank me and be ecstatic that you did.
3 frayed stars
I love preppy . I do .and I was expecting rough and extreme from him after learning more about him in lawless and soulless but he did do 2 things that I thought went too far.
Preppy is still his non apologetic wild self and I loved that part of him !
Dre enters the scene as a heroin addict and preppy is turned on by her full addict state which was wierd .. again I was expecting wierd and wacky with him, but this kind of out there won’t be for everyone .
Preppy and Dre are both messed up cookies . I love this series and I’m intrigued about where this can go from here so I will keep reading for sure !!
There are a few editing issues with the ebook copy – double words and typos throughout but mostly well written and a great addition to the kim series !!
5 “Bow-tie til I die” Stars
*Sighs* Why is it the book that I love the most are the hardest to write reviews for? I’m seriously struggling here because my head is swimming with things I want to say, yet I’m not sure how to put them into words. I absolutely LOVED Preppy in King. So when I realized he was getting his own book, yeah I squeed and did a little dance. *shrugs*
This book is the perfect mix of past and present. From page one, I was sucked in and fell in love with Preppy all over again. He’s scary crazy, ridiculously funny, and sexy AF. Dre is a little spitfire herself and stronger than she ever realized. Two beautifully broken souls calling to one another. I’m trying not to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but that ending…I sat there with my mouth open for a good five minutes wondering WTF I just read…but a good WTF 😉 This is the fifth book in the King series and needs to be read in order.

I finally got a taste of the Preppy craze that I’ve been hearing about. Not only do the characters love this man, the readers do as well. He will forever be known to me as the man that made bowties a thing again.
Samuel Clearwater is dangerously intimidating yet full of all kinds of dirty humor. I cannot get enough of him.
Dre is on a deadly path that Preppy pulls her away from. I would’ve given anything to have this hot-gorgeous man as my life coach.
Preppy: The Life and Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part One is the fifth book in the King series, and you must read four book before it (King, Tyrant, Lawless and Soulles) Each one of these books is epic.
From the very first moment I met Preppy, I knew he was one character that I could never get enough of.
Preppy has survived a horrorific childhood clinging to his two best friends: Bear and King. The way in which their lives intervine and their bonds are forged are critical to understanding the full story arc.
So, when King gets lucked away in prission to serve this time, it is up to Preppy to watch over their granny green business. Preppy is obviously a character that as been through a lot, we learn more about his past and how he became the man the is today.
Andrea Capulet is a drug addict and is living in her own personal hell, abused by her companions. Andrea wants to forget her demons she wants to get better and be the good daughter that her father.
Preppy and Dre (Andrea) have personal demons and explosive attraction. They needed the rough sex to feel alive
CONCLUSION
This book it was about life and death, desperation, finding, redemption and falling unexpectedly in love.
There is simply no way to describe the man with the bow the other than perfection Preppy he’s a dark character with a wild sense of humor.
I love this story. T. M. Frazier transports us to a dark and gritty world, I savor every single moment with these characters.
Thanks for creating this book, thank you for breathing life back into my most beloved character.
Preppy! Does this even need reviews? It’s freaking Preppy! My favorite from the moment that Bow Tied man in suspenders arrived on the scene. Getting the gaps filled in while King was in prison and before Ray arrived was a delightful surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this installment to the King series and I loved the surprise.
Getting to see another side to Preppy was exactly what I needed. To see the man behind the bow tie, the man behind the jokes it was refreshing and honestly made me love him even more.
Also pitting this beautifully flawed man against a girl, Dre, that is just as flawed and troubled, though her scars are a bit more visible, worked better than anyone could have predicted. Watching him save her, to have a purpose made this an extreme page turner!

Preppy – the comical guy that always has something to say and said it he did – no matter how much louder and cruder. When he ran across Dre, the broken girl strung out on heroine teetering on the edge of the water tower, he felt something for her he had never felt before. He rescued her, not realizing that she was rescuing him as well. She was running from the demons of her past, drowning them in heroine. Preppy was just living, but not truly living, dealing with memories of his horrible childhood until King rescued him.
In this first book, you hop back and forth between the past (the beginning of him and Dre) and the present (being held prisoner by Chop) – this book caused all the feels. Yes it is dark, but you see two souls that are completely shattered start to heal. But when Preppy pushes Dre away, will he be able to survive the loss that she causes and will Dre be able to get over the man that broke her heart.
Preppy is my favorite of the guys out of the King series and with this first book you get to meet all the sides of him. It’s so complex, yet so simple and the story will draw you in and stay with you long after you finish. TM still amazes me with how she created a world such as this and I find myself returning to this series over and over never getting enough.
Mind blown, brain shattered, heart pounding.
I don’t even know how to even begin to write how I feel about Soulless.
I wanted to savour it make it last as long as possible, soak in every word on every page. I took my time reading this because I didn’t want it to end. I have been on this rollercoaster ride since I was introduced to King and it’s a ride I knew had to eventually stop but I wanted it to end well.
As the series has continued it has only gone from strength to strength. Just when you think no way it’s not going to get any better, Miss Frazier proves you very wrong.
You’re going to feel all the feels in this story, no stone has been left unturned.
I am Happy, I am Sad, I am Ecstatic,
I Am Done, just Done!!!
It starts with a skull ring.
Thia fell in love with what this ring represented to her, gave her a purpose, strength, love and made her feel special.
This ring was given to me by the biggest and strongest man in the whole wide world.
‘He could’ve given it to anyone he wanted, and he chose me. It means that we’re linked…FOREVER’
Bear finally has finally found his purpose in life, Thia.
MINE is all he needs to say.
Those two words FOREVER and MINE perfectly sums up their story.
I was his forever, he was mine.
No other words are needed if you loved Lawless you will flove this even more.
Did you notice how many things I checked above? If I thought King had everything, Preppy is the ultimate! He’s so quirky, and bad, and funny, and sexy, and ahhhh! I love Dre. She’s battling demons but isn’t a victim. But as much as I love Dre, it is all about Preppy. I’ve licked him, claimed him, and will gut anyone who tries to take him from me. He’s MINE.
I have no idea how this author can take such twisted people that do such twisted sh*t and make me love it. Seriously, I put off reading this one for a couple reasons. One, wanted to read all 3 parts and not have to wait. And two, Preppy was a seriously awesome secondary character but i just couldn’t picture him as sexy. But whelp, there ya go. Serious awesomeness!
Who doesn’t love some Preppy
Another exceptional book by T.M. Frazier!! This was one of those books just screaming to be written and read. Preppy was just so interesting and unique in the previous books with King and Bear, but there was so much more to him, that he needed his own story, and boy is it a good one!!
Make no mistake that this is a dark and gritty read, but Preppy’s character shines through with his own unique quirkiness. I loved him. Cocky, arrogant, intelligent, hot, depraved, funny, broken….. but loves his friends, fiercely loyal, whilst being a murderer and using drugs, and having the filthiest of minds!!
Andrea (Dre) is at rock bottom…. strung out drug user, damaged, abused, broken…. stealing from her Grandma when Preppy finds her. He rescues her (but for his own benefit of course), and gets her straight, all the while their relationship is building along with the sexual tension. Some great laugh out loud scenes with Preppy and his own brand of humour and sarcasm. But the road they travel is definitely dark and dangerous, twisted and dirty.
Once I started this I couldn’t put it down, I was so invested as to how things would turn out for them. The book ends is a cliffhanger which I didn’t see coming, with me desperate to know more.
A fantastic read, can’t wait for the next one.
