After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to … to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.
Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn’t afraid to show him that he doesn’t. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.

This book is a diamond in the ruff. I unusually try not to read books that is a play off a classic. But I thought I would give this a try as it was free on kindle unlimited. I am so glad that I took that chance. The characters were so full and rounded that there was no doubt in your mind of who each character was. I loved their love story and how it took awhile and build up to get to the real romance. This book is for sure on my list to read over and over gain.
I recommend reading this book and you won’t be disappointed.
A heartwarming story about love and sacrifices, social differences, and yes, pride. Definitely worth adding to your reading list. A happy for now ending.
I loved this fun and flirty yet clean romance. She’s an incredible author.
cute story. thank you for “clean” sex scenes!
Loved the story and the characters
Two opposites conquer pride to fall in love. I enjoyed reading this book.
A return to Autumnboro … this time it is the power ball winner’s story. Learning she can be loved despite all her lottery wealth. Her whole family learns lessons along the way and Autumnboro becomes an even better place to live (yes, it is possible) …. I had red Kit and Amy’s story and this builds upon that. They don’t have to be read in order, but I recommend it.
A really sweet read. Emma is looking after her neices for her brother, money is short and she is independent and full of pride. Kevin is her next door neighbour that makes assumptions on her character before meeting her. Lovely to watch how their relationship changes.
Kajsa and Adelyn are adorable.
I liked this book, will read more by the same author!
Somewhat predictable, but then the title kind of did that. This was a quick read for me, but I enjoyed it! An independent principled woman meets successful man who didn’t know he needed her or she him. Sweet and romantic with lots of twists and turns.
I’ve read this book a couple times now. It’s a quick read and funny in parts. The characters aren’t realistic by any means but it was still a fairly enjoyable read.
Good book
Delightful story, fun well developed characters!
Cute, sweet and easy to read stand alone
Gave me happy tears at the end.
I found a new favorite author. Easy to read clean, enjoyable story. Good humor and romance. I enjoyed all 3 books in this Series and now buying more by this author. The only thing that bothers me is time seems to pass much more slowly for the two young girls than the rest of the characters. Unless I just remember poorly.
Could not put it down.
A sweet romantic modern day re-telling of Pride and Prejudice. Believable characters, situations, and plot. Recommend to all readers.
Nice fun piece of literature.
I absolutely love Rachael Anderson’s version of Pride and Prejudice. Emma is a strong independent woman with a huge heart, unfortunately her pride can get in the way. Kevin is a successful handsome Knight in Shinning Armor who is a bit prejudice and judges those around him by their appearance and not their actions. His first impression of Emma and the two girls if full of prejudice. Kevin thinks he has his life figured out until the girl next door isn’t afraid to show him he doesn’t have it all figured out, and you can’t help who you fall in love with. Emma is feisty and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, she also has trouble accepting help and trusting others, especially Kevin. The banter between Kevin and Emma is absolutely adorable and sweet, and kept me wanting more. Adeline and Kajsa are so adorable. This book is about two people who come from two different upbringing and learn that you can’t help who you fall in love with, and find what they are missing. It’s full of humor, friendship, family and love. I loved the book and would definitely recommend it. I can’t wait to read the next, even though this is a standalone.
