A man of God returns to Hell, Michigan, after serving 7 years in prison.Seeking God’s direction in his new life, Daniel is led to a place called Sodom and Gomorrah–the city’s BDSM club where he runs into Nineveh, a woman trapped in a bad situation with no way out.Daniel fearlessly enters the lion’s den to rescue her, but quickly learns that saving her will take more of him than he ever imagined.
Absolutely captivating & different story. This is not your run of the mill plot by any means & I found it to be completely engaging at all levels. One of the many things I especially liked about this book, is the time the author takes to lay foundations: of the characters, of the plot, of the increasing intensity of the H/h interactions & buildup to a deeper relationship. There is no insta-anything in this novel & that is a refreshing change of pace I appreciated. The hero is Daniel: a man firmly believing in God & Christ – of the impact they have on our worldly bodies & our otherworldly souls. Daniel has a calling to adhere to the commands & teachings of God & Christ & use the strength of character & spirit he believes they give him to help others. The heroine is Nineveh: a hairs breath from fracturing into tiny fragments due to psychological & physical abuse by her Dom. Daniel is committed to trying to help Nineveh in any way she needs, but Daniel’s way & beliefs are nothing she’s ever experienced before & this makes her skittish & wary of his proffered aid. This is the crux of the story: is Daniel able to help Nineveh the way she needs? Is Nineveh able to accept & use Daniel’s help to prevent shattering & possibly heal?
While there are many references to the Bible, God & Christ, as well as using the Word & their way & teachings to guide a person’s path, actions & deeds, no where did I find it intrusive, preaching or offensive. All of this as integral to the characters as well as the plot of the book, however, again do not let that prevent you from reading this book. The plot & characters shine, you are invested in, & care about, them. I found myself hoping with fingers crossed for Daniel & Nineveh to successfully walk a path together.
(P.S. I loved the interview near the end!)
Well GF, you’ve done it again. YOU BROUGHT THAT “BANE BOOM” !!!! You never cease to amaze me. Just when I’m thinking there is no way in this world you can top this book, BOOM you leave me in awe of your talents again.
As a huge fan of Lucian Bane, I have read every book he has published and with each new story comes a new case of book hang on. Because they hang on for days and days, thinking of nothing but the book. This book has definitely followed tradition for Bane. He has found the perfect balance with religion and erotica. If anyone could do this it’s Bane. When the two main characters meet and teach each other their way of life, we follow along with their trials and tribulations. feeling as though you are part of their story and know each personally. Bane has an uncanny way of drawing you straight into the middle of his stories as if it’s happening to you..
I strongly recommend reading anything written my Lucian Bane. I promise you will never be disappointed and will become as huge of a fan as I am.
This is the first book I’ve read by Lucian Bane so I had no idea what to expect and from everything I’ve read, that seems to be his norm even from regular readers. Preacher Dom book 1 is different from anything I’ve read. Same genre but seen through fresh eyes and a whole new take. Daniel has just been released from prison after seven years and living with his grandmother. Nineveh is in a relationship with a sadistic, abusive Dom. One praying for a purpose the other looking for a way out. There’s an innocence that is lightly painted over the entire picture to me. And even though each o these two characters have been through their own Hell, they have something they can teach each other. In the process, there’s a slow burn of chemistry between the two that just keeps building. Now that I’ve found him, I intend to look for the next book in the series and work it into my schedule. This was a pretty great read.
A very well written book about Daniel and Nineveh search for spiritual faith. Daniel was just let out of jail and ten he finds Nineveh running away from her old life and this is their journey. This is a cliffhanger so to find out what happens you need book 2. Hopefully there is an HEA because you will fall in love with them. Enjoy.
His conviction and devotion… will he be her very salvation?
How does one adequately depict what an amazing and refreshing read this book was… totally humbling at the same time. I don’t do short reviews very well… so bare with me as I gather the words needed to give this book it’s due.
Reading for me is more than the words the author has graciously gifted on the pages of their book. It’s not just a story crafted. It’s an experience. It’s a chance to delve deep into what makes characters behave the way they do. It’s human behaviour, in all it’s darkness, light and richness! I adore reading! I absolutely love books that give me pause, give me more to contemplate. I’m an avid reader of all genres… and always open to reading whatever captures my attention. What happens when you find another has added you into a new author’s group that you’ve never heard of before? Do you take a chance at reading new words or do you remove yourself thinking a mistake was made? Decisions, decisions? I do love finding new authors., A chance is taken and I find myself opening a different book co-written by Lucian Bane and Mason Sabre (Cuts Like An Angel Bk 1)…that absolutely guts you from the get go…but you instinctively know you’ve found another author (or two) that is going to provide you many stories to think hard on. I digress… that’s another book to finish and formulate thoughts on. STOP… let’s back track to read PREACHER DOM because something exciting is coming soon… Preacher Dom 2.
PREACHER DOM: the synopsis gave me pause… my mind was already looking at the correlation of Biblical words/names/places and how it would mesh with the so called perceptions of the “sins of the flesh” and BDSM. Now I have a story that has captured my attention and then some. There will be much to contemplate here, as Daniel and Nineveh find their way. I can’t wait for more to come. This is truly an epic journey for both characters. They each provide a solace and need for each other. One they are hesitate to explore because of how they perceive their roles, their faith and their individual background story. Yet, to find that they need to have that special someone, that inadvertently walks into their life or is it God’s guidance at play? The need to have that special someone in your corner –
Standing in front of you, guarding and protecting…
Standing beside you, listening, caring and fighting battles for you and with you ,when you are at your most vulnerable…
Standing behind you, watching you grow from strength to strength.
How much can one woman endure, before she loses all hope of finding her way out of the evil madness and abuse to find her salvation? How much will it take one man to explore the temptation in his way?
Walk within Daniel and Nineveh’s footsteps – it’s a temptation book, one MUST EXPERIENCE!! Only then, can you fully appreciate their tumultuous journey and just how amazing people are – in their strengths to overcome circumstance and abuses, their search for forgiveness and redemption in their own way and time. We can falter, we can take wrong turns, we can test the limits of our interactions but when surrounded by care and support and absolute unconditional faith – anything becomes possible.
PREACHER DOM is a wonderful page-turning book for the weekend. It’s a melting pot of emotional angst, despair, hurt and let’s go there – staggering sexual chemistry that is muted into a slow, intense burn, a temptation yet they deny their craving of each other. Their verbal dialogue is tones of serious, yet a light hearted naivety and witted charm. Descriptive scenes as Lucian Bane weaves the beautiful devotional verse into this amazing story. A story that will keep you turning pages wanting more.
A gifted writer, that you will follow their words into the depths of darkness, ride the emotional and spiritual roller coaster, to find the light at the end… but wait… Lucian leaves you hanging for the moment. NO!!! Ok… like all good stories there is so much more to tell. For any reader, don’t just read reviews, read the blurb – if it captures your attention, grab that book and read with an open mind. You just might find that book that resonates with your heart and soul, that gives you much to ponder. It will be so worth your reading time and the anticipated wait of Preacher Dom 2, to continue traveling with Daniel and Nineveh.
Oh. My. Daniel.
I’ve read a few Lucian Bane series now and each are completely different, with their own unique flavour.
Preacher Dom has not disappointed.
I enjoyed it original take and I am left craving more.
5 Star!
Absolutely amazing!!
I usually shy away from books with any kind of religious aspect to them because they tend to go over my head and I’m not that religious but Lucian Bane does an amazing job with entering religion into the story without it being overwhelming.
Daniel and Nineveh are two great characters who both have issues of some kind. They are so likable and easy to understand. The story flows so smoothly that you don’t want to put it down. It’s so worth the read!!!
either redemption or their purpose in life. Daniel is well on his way to finding it, but Nineveh feels that there is no redemption for her. This is the story of how Daniel hopes to guide Nineveh towards her redemption with the help of God, and Nineveh giving Daniel his purpose in life.
Lucian Bane is an absolute master of words. His books are considered romance/erotica, but they are so different from other books in the genre. His characters are so unique and their situations so different than any other book I’ve ever read. If you like unusual romance/erotica stories, you will fall in love with all Lucian Bane’s books!
Lucian Bane is the kind of author who will take your expectations and flip them upside down, shake them inside out, turn them around until you’re so dizzy you can’t see straight, and finally hand them back to you in a way you never saw coming. And you thank him for it.
Don’t open Preacher Dom with any pre-conceived ideas; most of them will turn out to be wrong. Let your mind be a blank slate for Lucian to create a more beautiful image of love (both God’s and man’s) than you could ever imagine. Daniel and Nineveh have a wonderful story to tell. I can’t wait for it to continue in book 2.
When you go on a book journey with Lucian, you take the road less traveled. More like deserted, but don’t let that scare you. The trip is absolutely worth it.
I love the storyline of how a Godly man helps a broken young woman find her way. I cannot wait for the next book.
This is the first book I have read by this author. I am totally speechless. I absolutely love the way he included God in his writing. I look forward to reading more of Lucian Bane’s books.
Preacher Dom is just WOW!!!! Not only is the story original I mean let me just say this… A preacher (Daniel) moving to Hell (Michigan) and meeting a sinner (?) (Nineveh), and there’s the wonderful Grandma. Ok let me stop I was about to tell the story. This was an amazing buy!!!!!!!!!!!!! You won’t regret it!!!!!
I am always in awe of Lucian Bane’s writing style. His stories grab you from the start and will not let you go until the last word. Even after the end of the story you are still left wanting more. His words are an addiction.
Preacher DOM is a very unique story featuring the characters of Daniel and Nineveh. I truly enjoyed how both characters have their strengths and moments of weakness proving that we are all only human and each have our desires and needs, even if we fear them and are not sure how to go about achieving them. Lucian eloquently ties in scriptures from the Bible which lend so much depth to the story line. His passion for the scripture flows through his characters and it truly made me want to purchase a Bible and begin reading it from cover to cover. I highly recommend reading this unique story on redemption. I look forward to the next book in this series and where it will take both of these characters.
I love that the characters. Daniel, Nineveh and Gammy are so different from any others I’ve read. They are quirky and loveable. Daniel and Nineveh but both come from very dark places, and their flaws and attributes are believable, not rushed. The action starts rolling and keeps coming faster and all the while this slow burn of seemingly forbidden attraction is kindling into something not so slow. I Love this first installment and cannot wait for the next!
Lucian Bane never let’s you down. Once again he has started another rollercoaster ride. This book keeps you guessing cause you never know what will come next. Loved it and highly recommend.
I absolutely loved this book. From the very first paragraph I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to see where this story would take me.
You need to read this book, you will not be disappointed.
Preacher Dom is like no other book I’ve ever read. Author Lucian Bane is the WordMaster! He knows how to make the rest of the world go away once you start reading. Hopefully I can put into words how this story made me feel. We are introduced to Daniel, an ex-con preacher and Nineveh, a woman whose life has derailed. From the moment Daniel placed his hand on her head, I was transported into another space.
Lead by God, Daniel knew this connection was necessary and whether it’s Daniel’s tender rescue or Nineveh’s need to believe in someone or something she feels safe with him. I felt every emotion each of these characters went through. I found myself weeping without realizing it until the tears splashed on my hands.
At times my heart felt so heavy when Nineveh spoke, but Daniel’s words lightened that feeling as if he was right here with me.
I needed to read this again … I wanted that peaceful feeling from Daniel again. I cannot wait for more of this story!
A young girl escapes an abusive, sadistic relationship and is taken in and fiercely protected by a preacher recently released from prison.
@his fate seemed to be crucifixion by desire…”
The story is fascinating, beautifully written and I couldn’t read it fast enough but didn’t want it to end.
Wow, Bane has completely blown away any thought process with this one. Loved the chatacters( so real) and the descriptions in this was like seeing it with my own eyes. Daniel is swoon worthy. Loved the story, it feels real and well honestly love where it is going. Can not wait till the next one. A must read that will leave you on the edge and just when you think you will tip it pulls you back into the pages where you hope it never ends.
Preacher Dom is the beginning of Daniel and Nineveh. This story is much more than your typical taboo. Lucian Bane is doing what he does best by weaving the characters into a storyline that keeps you hook and waiting for the next punch.
Daniel has returned home to Hell Michigan after being in prison for seven years. He’s on the road to redemption. Daniel is a strong man, wanting to get his life back on track. He believes that god is leading him on a higher purpose.
Nineveh is stuck in a life she hates and will do anything to get out of it. She meets Daniel when she proposes he join her and her Dom. He’s an abusive man and Nineveh is trying everything to get out of her contract. Nineveh is strong and smart but also scared.
This characters come together and a slow burn starts. They come from different situations and that creates a different view for readers to see not only the book genre but the characters as well. They have things to teach one another and find that they just might have what the other is looking for.
Bring on the next book !
Lucian Bane has done it again. Preacher Dom was one of those stories where you can’t look away, your eyes are fixed on the words while your brain is yelling to keep reading. That you can’t stop until the end. Well I listened and all I can say is READ THIS BOOK!
I absolutely loved Daniel and Nineveh’s interactions. They way that her character blossomed and grew like a flower. How she pushed not only Daniel but herself. I will see be sitting on pins and needles waiting for the continuation of this story.
