Getting experience with the guy next door seems like a great idea—until the lines blur.Dev, a geeky first year physics student, has zero sexual experience and he’s determined to change that ASAP. After a bad time in halls of residence, he’s starting the summer term with different housemates and a new plan of action.Ewan lives in the house next door to Dev. He’s young, free and single, and isn’t … single, and isn’t looking to change that anytime soon. When awkward circumstances throw them together, Ewan offers to help Dev out in the bedroom in return for maths tutoring, and Dev jumps at the chance.
They work their way through Dev’s sex-to-do list, but what starts as a perfect no-strings arrangement gets more complicated as their feelings for each other begin to grow. If they’re going to turn their lessons in lovemaking into something more permanent, they need to work out how they feel about each other—before they get to the end of Dev’s list.
NB: Although this book is part of a series, it is a complete story with different main characters and can be read as a standalone.

I just adore this entire series so far and cannot wait to continue. I have been wanting to get back to it, and Ewan and Dev were just what I was needing. They are both first years and are neighbors. One of their first meetings is the best I have ever read and it was just perfect. I really loved how much emotion both MCs conveyed through that entire interactions. Then with Grindr it was just all the best. I thought this was a realistic depiction of how a friends with benefits arrangement can turn into so much more. While there was quite a bit of internal angst just with each MC not knowing where the other stood, it felt natural and perfect for them. I also completely loved this narration. Mark Steadman did a fantastic job with both MCs. I just love the way he brought the story to life. Definitely recommend this read to anyone looking for a college romance with a realistic quality.
Dev is completely charming his lack of experience doesn’t detour him at all which I completely love. I like that even when it’s hard Dev speaks his mine.
Ewan is a funny sort of guy, you wouldn’t think he would be shy about what he wants since he is the one with the experience but he is constantly surprised at what comes out of Dev’s mouth.
I like that it all started from a tit for tat kind of thing but how it grows is surprising to both of them. Highly recommend this book heck this series.
Also the narration is pretty great.
Great series by Jay Northcote, I’ve listen to the audio version and read the Ebooks.
Read by Mark Steadman who brings Jay’s characters to life and I actually feel like I’m part of the group of Housemates by the end and that the college students are your friends.
I always feel a loss when I finish one of Jay’s books but he always promises an HEA.
It’s a really cute, fun and sexy read. It’s a friends with benefits to lovers trope with a little bit of angst. Dev and Ewan are absolutely adorable. Dev is geeky, awkward and nerdy and Ewan is the absolute opposite. I loved their story. The sex lessons, math lessons and cooking lessons were all amazing. This is a really good book and I’m glad I picked it up.
I could go check how I started previous reviews of the series so I don’t repeat myself all the time but WOW did I love the book!
There’s a shy, inexperienced nerd who has been bullied in halls of residence. But luckily there was Rupert, the MC from Like a Lover, who knew that his boyfriend’s old place has an empty room. So this cute nerd Dev ends up together with the guys from other books.
How Ewan and Dev meet is an embarrassing and hilarious story that involves a good vibrator and the address where the package was delivered
Eventually the guys figure out that Ewan needs maths tutoring (something I understand and also one of the reasons why I didn’t choose the same subject as Ewan ) and as Dev is a physics student, they decide that Dev could tutor him. In exchange, Ewan helps Dev go through the list of what he’d like to try, and ‘tutor’ him through his sex-to-do list (oh and also teaches him how to cook. And they also hang out. But not in a relationship, NO!)
Of course this friends(-tutors) with benefits doesn’t really work as it’s supposed to. The guys develop feelings for each other but are too chicken to share it with each other. Ewan thinks Dev just wants to learn those things to find the right person afterwards, and Dev is self-conscious.
I just love how the author writes those stories. In every one of them I just want to hug the characters, wrap them in protective blankets and all, but at the same time crush their heads together like that photo that was flowing around years ago to get their act together and talk!
now kiss
This book is once again sweet, sexy and only slightly angsty! I keep yelling about the whole series on social media so…it’s a safe bet to say I love it and I would recommend it!
