Hockey players are off limits especially … if they’re on your brothers’ team. The last time Jordan did that, it ended in disaster. It was easy to promise her brothers she’d never date another one of their teammates again.Until she meets Jake. The spark she feels when she spends time with him makes her promise harder and harder to keep.Surely her brothers would understand breaking this promise if … understand breaking this promise if it means following her heart.
Wouldn’t they?
Never sleep with a teammate’s sister.
This is the universal rule of athletes everywhere.
Until he meets Jordan. As soon as Jake sets eyes on her, he wants her.
The goalie’s job is to see missed shots and failed opportunities on the ice.
This is one shot he’s not going to miss, no matter what obstacles get in his way.
POWER PLAY is a flirty, swoon worthy sexy rom-com and the first book in the BTU Alumni series. It can be read as a stand alone. If you like hockey boys, sarcastic friends, matchmaking K9’s, too-cute-to-handle kindergarteners, fierce heroines and swoony hot as puck Alpha heroes, then you want to get to know these cast of characters. One puck head and a HEA guaranteed.

Power Play by Alley Ciz is a fantastic book! This is the 1st book in her BTU Alumni Series. This is the second book that I have read by this author and she didn’t disappoint me at all. I couldn’t put my kindle down until I finished reading this book!
Power Play explores the budding romance between Jordan Donnelly and Jake Donovan. Jordan has just moved backed and transferred to BTU to be on the swim team. Jake is the star goalie of BTU hockey team and friends and teammates with Jordan’s brothers. The pair first meets when they are at Rookie which is a club. Jake was attracted to Jordan from the moment he saw her. When Jordan first saw Jake, she felt the chemistry and heat between them and she wanted to explore it. Jordan found out that Jake was on the hockey team, she knew that she couldn’t date Jake because he was her brothers’ teammates. Jake wanted to know Jordan better.
Will Jordan and Jake give in to the chemistry and heat? Will Jordan and Jake get their happy ever after? You will have to read Power Play by Alley Ciz to find out! Power Play has plenty of romance and love scenes. This book was definitely a fantastic read. I will be reading more books by Alley Ciz.
Make sure you get your copy of Power Play today! You won’t be disappointed and you are in for a treat!
Jordan has brothers that play on a hockey team. She has dated a teammate of theirs in the past with disastrous consequences and promises not to do it again. Jake is part of the same team as Jordan’s brothers and she will have to break her promise once she meets him. The two hit it off and things get wild. Jake knows he shouldn’t be dating his teammates sister but he can’t stay away from her. This is a sweet, sexy romance and good read.
Power Play is the first book in the BTU Alumni series and the debut book for this author. It hooks you from the first page and gives you the right amount of laughter, a little suspense and how close of a bond all characters in this book have.
Jake and Jordan have the odds against them from the beginning. Team mate’s sister and a promise to steer clear of hockey players after a team shake up. Can the goalie save the shot is the question? One puck ahead or does Jake take one for the team? JD brother’s protection and covert at that (haha), hilarious banter, close bond between family and hockey team. Oh, my the K9 and the littles (as I call them) are too cute and funny, but very bright as you will see.
If you enjoy reading sports romance, close bonds between family/friends, laughing while reading and smiling at the sweet moments than this book is for you. I’m excited to see where the next book in the series is going.
This was the first book I have read by Alley Ciz. I was pleasantly surprised. At first, it was hard to get into, for the fact that I’m used to the first-person viewpoint and this was in the third person. After I got used to this type of viewpoint, the story was a very quick read. I love the heroine Jordan. She’s everyone’s dream girl. She is gorgeous, fun to hang with, knows her sports, and gets along with guys and girls alike. She’s outgoing and very sure of herself. It was nice to read about a strong heroine. Jake, I can characterize as the “gentle giant”. He’s a fabulous hockey player, yet he is sweet and down to earth. I love the interaction Jake and Jordan had with each other’s younger siblings. I secretly hope there will be a story about their little brother and sister when they are older. No matter what character was introduced in the story you were given enough information about them that you were insta-love with this group of characters. I was frustrated how long it took Jordan to want to tell her brothers about her and Jake. I think she should have told them a lot sooner than she did. Especially, when her friend started dating one of her brothers. Overall, it was a great sports romance read and I am excited to read about the next book in the series!
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely adored this book! I loved that it was not only a sports romance (sexy hockey players…swoon!) but also a best friend’s sister romance. I decided within just a few chapters that I could totally be BFFs with Jordan and her squad. I loved the relationships that Jordan had with not only with her friends from childhood and college but also with all of her brothers and their parents. This book brought on a wide range of emotions from laughing to awing and a few gasps just for good measure. This was a great slow burning sweet romance. I can’t wait for the next book!
**This was an advanced readers copy**
This book was amazing!! I love reading books about sports players and this book was so intense. So you will read about Jordan and Jake and what they go through to be with each other. I could not help but feel every emotion that Jordan was going through and experiencing. During the intense moments in the book my heart was pounding and I felt as if I just experienced what she went through. The chemistry with her and Jake was sizzling. He was her knight in shining armor and her rock that helped her stand her ground. Besides having her amazing friends and family with her as you read, you can’t help but laugh at how they all got along. The ending was great and they got their happy ending. I loved this book and would highly recommend to anyone to read. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and see what happens next.
Wow. Alley Ciz scores a goal with this debut story. It’s been awhile since a book has pulled me in so quickly that I just didn’t want to put it down.
Jake and Jordan feel the connection from day one, but Jordan’s past with one of her brothers’ teammates and the promise she made them keeps her from completely letting go. Jake isn’t deterred and is bound to figure out how to make this work. No spoilers, but a lot plays into their relationship. This book has it all. Best friends (both old and new), sports, crazy exes, and bitter puck bunnies.
I fell in love with this great group of characters from BTU and you will too. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
College, sneaking around, parties and just being young. Add to that a cocky (but sweet) hockey player and a feisty girl and you have Power Play. It tells the sweet story of Jake and Jordan, who can’t help falling for each other. I have enjoyed reading this debut book very much.
After some time away, Jordan is back in the same town as her family. She had her reasons to go to a different town and university, but now she wants her life back. Falling for a hockey player / close friend of her brothers however is not part of the plan yet. Being a hockey player has its advantages (hello attention of girls), but Jake is a decent guy. He knows he shouldn’t chase Jordan, but he can’t help himself. Two people pretending they’re just friends, what can go wrong…
Jake and Jordan are both normal young people who surround themselves with family and friends. I love the realness of this couple, they talk and act realistically, no over-the-top stuff and crazy antics. Jordan is a sweetheart who had a bad experience, but that doesn’t stop her from living. Jake is just Jake; swoon worthy, a loyal friend and in love with a girl he can’t have (or so he thinks). Jordan and Jake are an amazing couple, I love them for each other.
Power Play is the very first book by Alley Ciz, and I’m very glad it decided to read it. I love how the author has written the characters and their story. One tiny little ‘remark’; in the first few chapters I was a bit confused with all the names that start with a J, but I got used to them. If you love to read about a great young couple, interesting side-characters and two sweet nosey kids, this is the book for you. Power Play is the first book in the ‘BTU Alumni Series’, so I’m pretty sure we’ll read more about Jake, Jordan and their family and friends.
