Hockey players are off limits especially … if they’re on your brothers’ team. The last time Jordan did that, it ended in disaster. It was easy to promise her brothers she’d never date another one of their teammates again.Until she meets Jake. The spark she feels when she spends time with him makes her promise harder and harder to keep.Surely her brothers would understand breaking this promise if … understand breaking this promise if it means following her heart.
Wouldn’t they?
Never sleep with a teammate’s sister.
This is the universal rule of athletes everywhere.
Until he meets Jordan. As soon as Jake sets eyes on her, he wants her.
The goalie’s job is to see missed shots and failed opportunities on the ice.
This is one shot he’s not going to miss, no matter what obstacles get in his way.
POWER PLAY is a flirty, swoon worthy sexy rom-com and the first book in the BTU Alumni series. It can be read as a stand alone. If you like hockey boys, sarcastic friends, matchmaking K9’s, too-cute-to-handle kindergarteners, fierce heroines and swoony hot as puck Alpha heroes, then you want to get to know these cast of characters. One puck head and a HEA guaranteed.

This is a fantastic debut for any author. Top notch romantic tension, great characters, wonderful dialogue and just a fun, easy to read storyline. Jake and Jordan are a great match, and Jordan is an everygirl you can’t help but relate to and love. Jake and all the guys on the BTU team are pretty swoony too!
Highly recommend this read. Can’t wait to get my hands on Tap Out and continue in this world!
I enjoyed reading Power Play. I loved getting to know all the characters. They each had their own unique dynamic that helped keep this book moving forward. The writing was good but I’ll admit it was a little confusing at times. One example is that it threw me off when Jordan would say that she was going to talk to her dad and then in the next sentence it would say she got pulled away from Mr. D. Was she talking to Jake’s dad instead of her own? I didn’t let that throw me to much though. Like I said, I enjoyed this book. It was full of sweetness and low on drama. I look forward to reading more by this author.
This was the debut novel by Alley Ciz and it was so good. I love sports romance so when I saw it, I knew I had to read it. Once I got started, I was not able to put it down. It does not disappoint. It will give you all the feels as you are reading it. Jake and Jordan had such wonderful chemistry as soon as they met that you can feel it radiating off the pages. This was a great debut for Ms. Ciz. I am so happy to have discovered a new author to read. I can’t wait to read more of her books and this series.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am in awe of this author as this is an amazing debut, and I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. This is Jake and Jordan’s story. As Jake and her brother are teammates, Jordan should be off limit, however, can they ignore the undeniable attraction between them? This is a well written flawless story, which has a tad suspense, and is emotional, humorous, and with witty banter and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in this awesome series. I highly recommend for all.
Simply Blown Away.
I was blown away to find out this is Alley’s debut release. Alley had me fall in love with Jake and Jordan. Fantastic story telling with lots of humor and plenty of romance. I love all of the characters and hope I get to see more books. I just wish I could give this more than 5 stars.
Power Play is the first book in this interconnecting series of a new to me author. This can be read as a stand alone, and it’s a contemporary, college sports romance with bestfriend’s sister/ forbidden kind of love story.
JD or Jordan transferred to BTU to continue her studies and to be with her brothers who played the hockey team and her bestfriend Skye. Jake has heard of Jordan and has been captivated since he saw her social media account. Since then he tried to gather info about her through Ryan and Jase, but her brother’s were tight lipped when it comes to her, to his confusion. Through a guy’s night out, he found out the truth about her identity.
The chemistry and attraction between these two were felt instantly, more so on Jake’s part since he saw her already through her brother’s social media postings. What they initially felt for each other was further strengthened by the slow build up of their romance. There was also an element of suspense from a horrid ex boyfriend from the past. I loved the friendship between Jordan and her friends, Skye, Maddey and Sammy. They are relatable characters, not to mention the other secondary characters in this book. You will feel the love, affection, camaraderie, and protectiveness they felt for Jordan when she was dealing with an awful past. Highly recommend this to sports romance lovers out there!
Power play is Alley’s debut. And what a great debut! Well written, witty, and emotional, Power Play draws you in from the first sentence and doesn’t let go.
I loved the hero and heroine Jake and Jordan but I also loved the secondary characters, they weren’t just there. They had a role to play and I loved the bond between best friends and family members.
I recommend this read to anyone who loves sports romance, a strong heroine and a swoony hero.
A debut book by a new author and a hockey romance were great reasons for me to want to read this book and I’m glad I did!
Jake plays college hockey with Jordan’s brothers, and the moment he sees their beautiful blonde sister, he wants to forget that she’s been put off limits by her overprotective siblings!
A close group of friends, sexy hockey players, a slow burn that eventually ignites into some major heat and a bit of suspense made for an enjoyable read.
This book is written in third person which I found much harder to read, but that’s just my personal opinion and isn’t anything against the author. I always appreciate knowing this before buying a book, so just in case you don’t like this style of writing, I’m letting you know.
When I first started, I’m like, this is going to be a long one. However, I didn’t even realized that I finished it already. I want more. Lol Also, this is Alley’s DEBUT novel, and she did such an amazing job!!! I can see her making it big in the long run. u2063

Two things that you might be looking forward to, but it’s not included or have only a little. u2063
– only one steamy scene at the end. They’re quite really innocent. u2063
– It’s in 3rd person POV. I’m not really used to 3rd person.u2063

Jake is a not an a-hole, player, or jerk. He’s a total sweetheart. He’s the sexy and hot boy next door, loyal friend, awesome team mate, and awesome goaltender. I love how he’s not wishy washy. He knows he wants Jordan and immediately rejects anyone else. Jordan is a strong girl, who have 2 really overprotective brothers. She’s so feisty, smart, and doesn’t take crap from anyone. I love them together so much. I love how you see their relationship builds up. They just didn’t dive into it. u2063u2063
I love the banter between the main and side characters. Can’t wait to see how the story develops for the other characters, especially Tucker. It’s a sports, RomCom novel. If you love these 2 combination, pick this one up.u2063
I received an ARc for an honest review.
I can’t believe this is Alley’s debut novel. She had me hooked into Jake & Jordan’s story from the very first chapter. It was funny and there was plenty of drama, but there was no denying the chemistry between Jake & Jordan. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! If Tap Out is anything like Power Play, I’m sure it will be a “Knock Out”
So for a debut author I have to put my mindset a little differently then normal. This book was a tad rocky at first for me but before I knew it I was completely consumed into this hockey family. I wanted to be at this hockey house and the parents house for barbecues. I mean the author just has a way of picturing this picture perfect family and friends who are like family. I mean hockey is their life and they know all the great legends. These guys and girls have such a great bond that it includes the littles Sean and Carlee, which is awesome! Those two were so cute and made the book so much better! Anyway back to Jake and Jordan. I loved how she had her girl time with her besties but she was also able to keep up and possibly be better then the guys at times. She is awesome! She was such a fun character but she had a dark part of her life. She didn’t want to get burned again but she couldn’t help the attraction she felt for Jake. She didn’t want to fall for her brothers friend and teammate but the more they spend together, it just feels right. He’s a down to earth , sexy and just fun to be around guy. I mean I fell for him as well. Plus who didn’t swoon when they both loved Transformers… I mean it was fate. I also loved that their was a love story within a love story. Normally I find it strange but with this group, it was definitely needed and urged into. They were so sweet on each other so it was meant to be in the story. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author in the future cause I absouletely loved this book and the characters in it!! Very well written and packed full of fun and family antics. It even has a little bit of craziness that brings them together as well. I love a good brothers teammate/sister romance especially when it has a slow burn affect like this one did.
Great hockey romance
I really enjoyed reading this book. I like that it’s a sports hockey Romance. It’s a really good. First time reading this author. It’s her debut book. I highly recommend it. I love the Forbidden Romance can’t wait to read to see what else she writes. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A tug of war of hearts between Jordan and Jake had me captured from the first page of this story. Loved this book. All the characters were well written and I loved how this all played out. A fantastic story!!
I really liked Jordan I think my favourite thing about her as a whole would have to be how dedicated she is to her family, especially her brother including her twin. The constant family theme throughout this novel in most new adult books families are non-existent and I really loved that in this book we saw Jordan with her family, and it wasn’t all focused on the relationship.

What an awesome debut novel and a fantastic way to start a series.
Let me be completely honest here: sports’ romances are not something I usually find myself reaching for and I also tend to avoid books written in the third person; Power Play is both, and I’m so freaking happy I gave it a try.
The story hooks you immediately and soon after, I was so into the narrative that I forgot all about that particular pet peeve of mine.
I love these characters and I do mean all of them.
This book is centered around Jake and Jordan, but Alley Ciz makes such a great job of introducing secondary characters and making them likable, funny and interesting, that now I just need them all to have a book of their own.
I’m particularly excited to read about Tucker and Skye, I mean… duh.
And Dex?
That’s how good Alley is: we only read a small bit about him and bum! – here I am, dying to know all about him.
Typical me to always be intrigued by and atracted to the secretive ones.
And I need to keep up to date with Sean and Carlee adventures. They are the cutest. Thing. Ever.
But back to Jordan and Jake: one of the many things I enjoyed about their story is that it felt real; It wasn’t rushed.
They had issues to deal with like every other couple. Every choice made sense from that perspective.
Jake is swoon worthy beyond belief: the perfect mix of sexy and sweet.
Jordan is the girl that feels like one of the guys, is loyal to a fault and has a group of friends that you can’t help but envy.
Alley Ciz created this world that makes you want to just jump in and have a fun time around the boys and girls.
I’m really curious about what’s coming next in this series and you can bet I’ll be checking it out.

For the new author Alley Ciz her debut Power Play is Superb! I like the fact she’s written it in 3rd person, it’s very rare nowadays and enjoyed it.
Witty, love the family/friends relationship and all the feels and drama!
I absolutely loved this fun filled sports romance/Rom com by Alley Ciz,her debut novel ! and what a debut it is ,it certainly grabbed my attention,as I did not want it to end.
I thoroughly enjoyed Jordan and Jake’s romance it was the perfect combination of sexy, sweet and emotional.I loved them the chemistry between them the banter it all kept me turning those pages at break neck speed. In fact ALL the characters in this book I am eager to know more about,I love it when you read a book and can fall in love with not just the main characters but the secondary characters as well it make you feel like you are a part of their friendship circle.
Power Play is one Hell of a first novel and I highly recommend it,Alley Ciz is definately a name you should all look out for ,I am sure she will become a future must read author.
Brilliant.
I’m a sucker for a good sports romance and Alley Ciz was able to deliver! I am so excited to read more from her!
Jake and Jordan has an instant attraction, but circumstances kept them apart.
Jake was kind, caring, and patient! I really liked him as a character!
Jordan wasn’t my favorite, but her character was believable! I understood why she did what she did.
I really liked them together.
I love that Ciz made her secondary characters developed, I felt that I knew all of them and hope to read more about them!
A great debut by Ciz!
Power Play, the first book in the BTU Alumni Series by Alley Ciz is a 5 Star Read for 2019! I can not believe this is the first written and published book by Alley. It is one of the most well written flowing books i have ever read! If you love a good Rom- Com, and a good sports romance, then this is the book for you!
Que Jake, the perfect book boyfriend, and Jordan, the strong, perfect female lead. The chemistry between these two characters from the beginning of the book is off the charts! They try, but can not deny their connection. Jordan has a strict ‘no dating her brothers teammates’ promise that she made with her brothers after events that happened with her ex. Jake however, does not care. He knows that Jordan is special, so he continues to pursue her. He is sweet and attentive, giving her the space she needs, but always being there for her at the drop of a hat, and sparking that hot chemistry between them.
One thing that i loved about this book is the supporting characters were just as amazing as the main characters! They were funny, and each had their own back story, that i would love to know more about!
This book was full of sweet romantic moments, hot steamy scenes, and funny moments that kept me intrigued and wanting more!
Finally, Alley draws the whole book together into an epic conclusion in the Bonus Epilogue making for one of my Top reads of 2019. I look forward to reading more books by her!!
THIS.BOOK!!
I got this as an ARC and obviously my first read from Alley Ciz as it is her debut book.
I love me some sports romance books and there is just something about hockey players that I LOVE!
Jake and Jordan are the cutest couple ever. I just loved everything about this book!!
Jordan, being the sporty/sassy chick, love heroines like that. Love that she was one of the guys and could tease and mess around with them all. Her past relationship is a tough spot but I was happy to see it didn’t ruin her spirit.
When Jake comes into the picture, they were pulled together like magnets! Jake won me over with how he was with his little 5 year old sister and how he acted towards Jordan as well. He didn’t go head first and try hard. He was a friend first and I love when guys are like that. Yes I do love cocky hero’s from time to time but it is also nice to have the down to earth hero’s too, and that is just what Jake is!
I need more of the J&J team! I didn’t want their story to come to an end. But I am happy to hear they will be in more of the other BTU books!!
Alley Ciz has a new reader for life now!
