Four elite fae warriors. One mortal female. A magical bond they can’t allow—or resist. Orphaned and sold to a harsh master, Lera’s life is about mucking stalls, avoiding her master’s advances, and steering clear of the mystical forest separating the mortal and fae worlds. Only fools venture into the immortal realms, and only dark rumors come out… Until four powerful fae warriors appear at … warriors appear at Lera’s barn.
River, Coal, Tye, and Shade have waited a decade for their new fifth to be chosen, the wounds from their quint brother’s loss still raw. But the magic has played a cruel trick, bonding the four immortal warriors to… a female. A mortal female.
Distractingly beautiful and dangerously frail, Lera can only be one thing—a mistake. Yet as the males bring Lera back to the fae lands to sever the bond, they discover that she holds more power over their souls than is safe for anyone… especially for Lera herself.

Mortal is called into the group and the fae guys are not happy about this and their goal is to sever the ties and be free of her. Drama, laughter and suspense definitely enjoyed the storyline and plot
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I will definitely need to check out more. The world building was great, and each of the characters was distinct and unique. I liked Lera, she is resilient and caring. I liked the guys and seeing their relationships develop with Lera.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Book one in the brand new Power of Five series and what incredible start it is too. We meet Lera who works as an indentured slave for a really mean man who believes that one day four Fae warriors with come for him to live in their world. Unfortunately for him Lera is really the one who fated to fill this slot. When the warriors come for they believe it is a mistake for the magic would never choose a human female to be their fifth. Little do they know she is right where she belongs and I fell in love with the well written fantasy story as they all learned that before the end. The world building is just awesome and add the magic to make it even better. The characters are easy to love and the story moves at pace that really keeps you hooked. If you are a fan of paranormal RH fantasy romance novels then you really have to read this one. I loved every single page so I give it 5/5 stars and will be looking forward to the next addition to the series.
I grabbed this book based on buzz I’d heard and I’m so glad I did. It was engaging, fast-paced, and I couldn’t put it down. The world building and writing style were excellent and I loved the darker fantasy shift. Lidell did a fantastic job creating complex, yet very unique, characters that I felt connected to and invested in. The female lead is imperfect, yet strong and determined and doesn’t waver or become the overly whiny victim. The guys are all swoonworthy and the steamier scenes were done just right. I loved every page and can’t wait for the next book!
I really like this twist on the Fae. The female MC is awesome, she fights for her Fae even against things she knows she can’t survive. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2.
