Four elite fae warriors. One mortal female. A magical bond they can’t allow—or resist. Orphaned and sold to a harsh master, Lera’s life is about mucking stalls, avoiding her master’s advances, and steering clear of the mystical forest separating the mortal and fae worlds. Only fools venture into the immortal realms, and only dark rumors come out… Until four powerful fae warriors appear at … warriors appear at Lera’s barn.
River, Coal, Tye, and Shade have waited a decade for their new fifth to be chosen, the wounds from their quint brother’s loss still raw. But the magic has played a cruel trick, bonding the four immortal warriors to… a female. A mortal female.
Distractingly beautiful and dangerously frail, Lera can only be one thing—a mistake. Yet as the males bring Lera back to the fae lands to sever the bond, they discover that she holds more power over their souls than is safe for anyone… especially for Lera herself.
Power of Five is a full-length reverse-harem fantasy novel.

Slow burning flames!
Wow, I cried and laughed and loved this book! Leralynns discovery of magic, loyalty, love, and trust is a page turner! I love how the story is a slow burn of pleasure and love. I can’t wait to read the next book!
This is a really fun escape.
I enjoyed the unique personalities of each of the four Fae warriors and want to get to know more about them. All of them. Intimately. LOL. But seriously, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of their characters and pasts.
I’ve already started book two!
This was a love at first read scenario. I initially intended to test it out because the author’s new to me and i haven’t checked out the blurb whatsoever yet. But in no time at all, I realized I have already finished the read! It was that amazing. The world-building was on point. It didn’t come out in an overwhelming way so I had time to savor the pacing and the story itself.
But what appealed to me the most, I think, was the characters. I just…love them all. I mean, I love Lera, the most. What can I say, just a sucker for underdog and underrated heroines! I kind of live for them because I want to read how those people who underestimated them would react to realizing their fatal mistake. Even better the heroes were those people I was talking about.
I’m excited to read book 2 and let the heroes redeem themselves!
This book is one of my top reads for 2021!
I have to say that this is one of my favorite RH series, you have it all. You have the FMC who is strong on the inside but still needs protection from this new world she is shoved into. You have hot and sexy males that make you want more and you have trials that forces the team to work together for a common goal.
Do yourself a favor and read it. . .its that good.
The best reverse harem series I’ve read.
Great start to a new RH series
Was surprised by this book/audio! I hadn’t heard that much about this series but was pleasantly surprised when I started listening. I enjoyed listening and instantly bought the next book in audio because I had to know what happened next!! haha
For narration, I thought Victoria Mei did a good job with the different characters. I instantly knew who was talking without hearing the dialogue. I thought her Scottish and British accents was pretty good, only a couple times I heard it not be strong but didn’t happen a lot. I loved how her inflections really reflected the character: I am not sure how you hear someone be more gruff/growly but she did it great with Shade and she did a good job with showing off the aristocracy in River’s upbringing.
For the story, I liked it and the relationships Alex Lidell started to develop and can’t wait to see the quint grow and fall in love in future books. I think my favorites are Shade and River but I can see the others becoming my favorites also haha. I liked the premise and am intrigued to see how they deal with Lera being human. There were some hiccups that stopped me from giving it 5 stars but since starting Book 2, no issues so far. I wasn’t instantly sucked in/connecting with Lera, not sure why, but by the end I was (and am definitely loving her in Book 2). I will say I could use less “stars” but that is a personal preference I guess haha. I cant wait to learn more about Tye and Cole and see more of their powers in Book 2
I enjoyed this audiobook and am looking forward to this series. I loved how in the beginning the guys had all the power and even looked down on her human form but by being herself towards the end of the story she seemed to be holding all the cards. I was really impressed with the heroine and am looking forward to watching her grow. The narrator does an amazing job and brings it all to life for the listener.
OK, disclaimer, I don’t normally read reverse harem books. I know the books ae fantasy, but still, the idea of 2-5 ‘Alpha’ males sharing a female without killing each other over it, or one ultimately winning her over the others just doesn’t ring true. And sometimes reverse harem just seems like an excuse to just write sex scenes. So I tend to avoid the genre. This author and series was talked about and rated highly enough that I did read the first book, since it’s on Kindle Unlimited. The characters are well done and the story is intriguing enough that I’ll probably look into the second book. The ‘romance’ seems fairly slow burn so far and doesn’t take the place of a very interesting world and plot.
I absolutely fell in love with these Four fae warriors River, Coal, Tye, and Shade who are magically bound to a mortal woman Lera, who with her spunk, tenacity and caring nature bind them together to form the Power of Five. This story is fun, well written, and will magically transport you to there realm.
I can’t wait for the next release to see where this story goes.
Victoria Mei the narrator was fantastic, I have to mention a riding scene in this story that came to life in my mind while she so perfectly narrated it, bravo.

Paranormal. Fantasy. 4 fae warriors. The quint finds there fifth and she’s a human slave. Not what they want at all. So it’s off to the Council to have her ties cut. They all have mystery going on in there backgrounds. Wonder what’s going to happen next.
f
4 fae warriors and 1 human girl.
River, Tye, Cole, and Shade lost their fifth, Shade’s twin Kai, a decade ago. Shade has stayed in his wolf from since, and they have continued to work with out a fifth. Their job, protecting the fae and human realms from the Mors.
The magic that bound their quint together has once more sent out a call. When they find the chosen fifth, all they can think is the magic made a mistake. They aren’t sure what astounds them more that she is human or female. There is only one other mix gender quint and they are the Citadel elders. Presiding over training of all the quint units. Their only choice is to claim their new fifth and take her to the Citadel to have their bond severed.
Leralynn is an orphan and indentured servant to an abusive lord. When 3 fae warriors and a wolf show up, her master thinks they are there for him, it is soon clear that they are there for her.
Lera and the warriors set out to the Citadel. Even though they know she can’t be a part of their quint, she completes them. She is strong, smart and sassy. She pulls Shade out of his wolf. She take Cole’s training with determination. She finds comfort in Tye’s teasing and strength in River’s leadership. The more time they spend together the closer they all become. The stronger they become. They warriors don’t want to be separated from the women they are falling for, while she is willing to loose them to keep them safe.
A fast paced. A little steamy. Great world building. The story does end in a cliffhanger.
Loved Lera, she is tenacious, empathetic, and has a smart mouth. River, their leader, is stoic and aloft, protective of his quint, uses earth. magic. Cole is a killer, hard and unbending, and will do anything to protect his quint. Tye, is a fun, charming player, uses fire magic and is a shifter. Shade, a wolf shifter is the calming protector, uses healing magic, he is second to River and can be just as fierce and unbending.
Loved Autumn, River’s younger sister. A brilliant women, adores her brothers quint, and sees them as brothers too. She accepts Lera with no reservations.

It was phenomenal!
This is my first book by Alex Lidell but I’m already on to book 2 (Mistake of Magic) in this series! I LOVE the characters in this book. SO WELL WRITTEN! The amount of description vs action is spot on! Plus the world-building! Great book!
This was a fun reverse harem. Action-packed and fast-paced. The four fae plus their earthly girl were well developed and their attraction/connection believable. There was plenty of sexual tension and a few steamy scenes to wet the appetite for any looking for a little sexy fun in their books. I was able to whizz through this book in no time and look forward to the second.
Great story, wonderful plot! Full of magic, mystery, danger, and mayhem. With lots of strange twists and turns, danger awaits around every corner as a mortal and four handsome fae learn to live and survive together.
Wonderful world-building. Each of the men has his own unique personality and history, which blend together beautifully. For anyone who likes to see a brotherly aspect among the heroes, a definite team approach, without the men catering to the woman’s every whim (not that our heroine here really has whims), this is a book/series worth reading. Fun, easy to read, and fast. I’m only through the first three books, and I’m dreading the series coming to an end!
You know how you’re not supposed to judge a book by the cover? Well, the cover is what drew me into the book, but the blurb cinched it for me in choosing to read it. I thought this book was stunning and brilliant. You get sucked into Lera’s world, and you don’t notice anything else. With other books, I sometimes have though, “Could that really happen.” Or, “That doesn’t really fit that “X” character’s speech/personality/history.” Never once in this book did I question the characters or plot – you’re that engaged, you forget you’re reading almost. The characters are all charismatic in their own ways and the world in which they live is brilliantly described. I love this book.
Amazing Story! This was my first Alex Lidell’s book and I love her writing. This RH fantasy novel is very interesting and entertaining. The storyline is fast-paced and captivating from the first page to the end. I love all the main characters: Leralynn (Lera), River, Shade, Coal and Tye. Their chemistry is strong and I appreciated their slow burn story. I can’t wait for the next book in the Series. I absolutely love Victoria Mei’s narration. She does an amazing job with all the characters. Her narration is great and easy to listen. In fact, I wonder how one person can personify perfectly so much characters. I absolutely love this team author/narrator and I’m looking forward for more books written by Alex Lidell and narrated by Victoria Mei. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review. I have read/listened this story
