Cameron Thorne and his fiancée Amanda Spencer don’t for a second believe the Ark of the Covenant is hidden in a cave in the Arizona desert. But when a militant survivalist leads them to a radioactive replica of the Ark, filled with a mysterious white powder, they begin to wonder if legends of Templar Knights visiting the American Southwest on a secret mission might be true. What is this strange … strange white powder? And is it the key to understanding the true power of both Moses and the sacred Ark of the Covenant?
Based on actual historical artifacts, and illustrated.
Publishers Weekly says of the author, “BRODY DOES A TERRIFIC JOB OF WRAPPING HIS RESEARCH IN A FAST-PACED THRILL RIDE.”
This is a stand-alone novel with recurring characters. These books can be read in any order.
WARNING: Not recommended for readers with strong religious beliefs.

Quite an entertaining book if you know something about the west and its history.
Another fast paced thought provoking book in this Knights Templar series, allowing us a believable reinterpretation of the biblical story of the Ark of the Covenant.
I have always been amazed how most people are so easily lead to naively accept delusional beliefs and lies espoused by outspoken figures in many fields including religion, medicine and of course politics as proven by half the country being persuaded by lies to believe that the bonafide results of the recent presidential election were somehow rigged.
If you have an open mind, you will enjoy this series and realize that change is the essence of history, but the sad part is that many people are incapable of changing their belief despite the new discoveries and emergence of truths that prove such beliefs to be wrong.
Wonderful take on how our artifacts came to be. Love his books!
This book makes you question beliefs……that is a good thing!!
“Powdered Gold” by David S Brody features Cam Thorne, his girl friend Amanda and an orphan female child they want to adopt, Astarte. Cam gives a public lecture on ancient Phoenician, Egyptian, Jewish, Templar and Viking artifacts found all over the US where he meets Willum Smoot, an inventor and chemist who has built a Survivalist compound in the Arizona desert filled with survivalists; Smoot seeking the Arc of the Covenant which he believes is hidden in a cave near his compound and wanting Cams assistance to authenticate the Arc if Smoot finds it. Smoot builds a capacitor fueled by powdered gold from the desert sand near his compound, which provides an endless power supply that world governments want for themselves, leading the US to lay siege to the compound, in an effort to gain the capacitor. The US finds the Arc which is a replica, Astarde is kidnapped and Cam and Smoot trade the capacitor for Astarde and the replica Arc.
I enjoy books that weave historical facts into an engaging story.
Unusual Concepts, includes multiple religious views
Interesting historical premise, likeable characters
Suspend all preconceptions about history and Judaism and Christianity. Then prepare to ride a bumpy trail over all sorts of conspiracy theories, government agents above and beneath the rules while exploring a bit of geology in the southwest. Not my favorite, but it will keep you awake and thinking
Quite boring
Intersting, but contains a lot of inaccuracies in its depiction of what Christianity is all about.
I could only get through the first 5 chapters. Is was reading like a Mormon apologetics tome.
It was great
Original plot, great characters lots of action. The fact that actual landmarks are incorporated into the plot line and woven into historical context is quite intriguing. Some of the plot theories may be closer to reality than you’d expect.
Love all his books!
Love the mixture of history and storytelling in the series. It gives pause to think. I appreciate the disclaimers in the beginning as well.
Ok read, but too much of the authors “preaching” about religions. Most of the preaching did not have any effect on the actual plot and could have easily been eliminated. I am
Fact Based Story….was insightful and very interesting.
Amazing what isn’t taught about our history!!
Wanted to like it but it lost m.
