What book did I read in one sitting?
I tried to go back as far as I could remember. I’ve been reading for quite some time LOL. I first read this book back in junior high. Yes I know…. not really 12 year old material but by this point I would go through books so fast my mother let me read anything LOL. This book really set me on the path with …
love enerything Patricia writes!!!
This is the very first of the Dr Kay Scarpetta medical examiner books. I have been hooked ever since. Read them all and in order! There are a lot and the characters progress as the stories progress.
The first and probably the best in the series. The first few Scarpetta books left me reluctant to sleep without a nightlight! This book is a little rough around the edges but worth it.
This series is AWESOME! Love this series! One of the writers that got me loving crime novels
One of my favourites from Patricia Cornwell, what marks these crime books out is the sheer scale of Cornwell’s forensic knowledge. Scarpetta is an amazing character, who really gave birth to modern day strong female crime fiction leads. It’s worth going back to the beginning with the Scarpetta series – I much prefer the earlier story lines. Tense, …
I like Patricia Cornwell’s style. This is a page turner and has a good plot.
The original Scarpetta novel. I absolutely love this series. Such great characters that I have been following for 20 years and I still want to know more.
To be completely honest, I read them for the forensics, not the plot or the characters. The plot is the same one every time: Scarpetta finds out about a crime, goes out of her way to investigate it when it isn’t in her purview to do so, her investigator has had a massive want for her and he’s an extreme misogynistic jerk because he can’t have …
Great read
I love almost everything Patricia Cornwall.
I’ve read almost all of her books. She’s a great writer.
I love the intricate plot of her novels. I have a hard time putting the book down!
Couldn’t put it down
Her stories have gotten to be all the same. The characters do not grow or change. They live in secret and depressive negativity.
I would love to see the Scarpetta novels as movies. Love. Love. Love. 🙂
This is the 1st book in the Dr. Kay Scarpetta series. She is the chief medical examiner for the state of Virginia, based in Richmond, the state capital. She is determined to find enough evidence to uncover the identity of a serial rapist murderer who tortures his victims before killing them. I found the book to be a suspenseful mystery with …
