From USA Today bestselling author Willow Winters comes an emotionally gripping, standalone, contemporary romance. It was never love with Daniel and I never thought it would be. It was only lust from a distance. Unrequited love maybe. He’s a man I could never have, for so many reasons. That didn’t stop my heart from beating wildly when his eyes pierced through me. It only slowed back down when … through me.
It only slowed back down when he’d look away, making me feel so damn unworthy and reminding me that he would never be mine.
Years have passed and one look at him brings it all back.
But time changes everything.
There’s a heat in his eyes I recognize from so long ago, a tension between us I thought was one-sided.
“Tell me you want it.” His rough voice cuts through the night and I can’t resist.
That’s where my story really begins.

Deliciously dark with a hard-fought fated love! Willow Winters is incredibly talented, original, and she’s mastered the art of the twist. Possessive will possess your heart. Let it.
Willow Winter’s does it again. This book was phenomenal and I can’t wait to see what she releases next. Daniel and Addison made my heart ache!
I love a good emotional and steamy romance and this one delivered big time. I couldn’t put it down!
Possessive is a great story filled with emotion, and wanting someone so bad but know you can’t have them. This author knows how to draw the reader in, that once you start reading you won’t be able to put it down. The characters Daniel and Addison were likeable and so real. Both were damaged, but when together they can breath and be happy. I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to read the other brothers stories.
boring
I had the absolute pleasure to read this gem from fellow author Willow Winters prior to its official release. Needless to say that in the midst of writing my own books, I took the time to finish this first because it was that engaging. I couldn’t put it down, and each chapter built on the previous, leading to an ending that will have you wanting more of these characters and the continuation of the larger storyline. Willow has a particular talent for building mood and connection between her characters. From their first encounter in the book, to the slowly revealed backstory throughout, I never doubted the connection between the two main characters, and I very much wanted to know where the entire story was headed. Full disclosure—I don’t have as much time to read as I would like to , and I made it a point to read this, simply because I enjoyed it. I can’t recommend this book any higher, and everyone needs to one-click this and the rest of the series. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
2.5 Stars – Sadly, this was not my cup of tea at all.
This review is hard to write because it’s almost like I’ve read a different story than everybody else.
It felt a lot like watching an episode of a TV show without knowing what’s actually going on. There were a few times when I wanted to give up reading, foremost in the first half of the book, but I was stubborn enough to pull through.
It got only slightly better in the second half of the book but I did like the chapters of the past because they gave me at least some kind of story, emotions and just something to understand. The rest felt like a dream where I couldn’t see anything else than thick fog. The pace was really slow, like only a few couple of really long and drawn out days.
And just when it started to get interesting did I notice that it was only leading up to the next book that’s coming soon in this series. Maybe it will be better in the next because we now already know something from this book.
The Story:
Addison accidentally stumbles over Daniel years later after what had happened and both were surprised to see each other. She just wants to feel at home somewhere and after visiting so many places, she’s finally looking into settling down. But then she unexpectedly sees him again and is taken aback by his unfriendly reaction. It took her so long to get better and he ruined it. Now she can’t stop thinking about him and about what happened. She has to tell him how she feels or she won’t be able to keep her dark thoughts at bay.
He’s bad for her and both know it, but desire is not something that’s easily dismissed and it doesn’t take long for the passion to break through.
Thoughts:
It took me forever to get into the story because I was not much a fan of the characters and the rather slow process of the story. I came to like Tyler though later on in the chapters of the past.
The obsession of Addison and Daniel was a mystery to me because yeah maybe he wanted to get her naked and she wanted him already years ago, but their behavior was still really strange. I couldn’t warm up to them and struggled to get through the story because I just couldn’t get a picture of what was going on. The characters felt off and I couldn’t stop wondering if Daniel had a split personality.
The first half of the book was especially hard to get through but then, finally, about in the middle of the story, feelings run high and it got a little bit better but I still did not understand why the characters acted so strange. She was obsessed with him despite his animosity and he was a total stalker and creeper. I was missing depth, more details and background information in this story.
The blurb didn’t give much away or else I probably wouldn’t have read this book. I’ve read two books so far by this author and both were completely different from each other as were my ratings. So anyway, I wanted to give it another go with this book but I can only say that I wish I saw and felt what other readers did in this book but sadly it turned out to be just not it for me.
Have you ever been in love so much it hurt? What if that person, that soulmate, that ONE for you was not yours to love? If an opportunity presented itself but was surrounded by insurmountable sadness and loss, would you still do anything and everything to make them yours? When does it all become too much?
This is the heartbreakingly beautiful love story between Addison Fawn and Daniel Cross.
Wow. I cant’t believe it’s over. What a ride! I loved every single second of this book. It is told in dual POV and it is perfectly paced and written. From the very beginning, this book had me wired and on the edge of my seat. Some scenes left me absolutely breathless. Willow Winters’ writing is exquisite and it makes you FEEL the electricity and the pull between these characters. The spark, sensuality and absolute WANT between Addison and Daniel is undeniable and you experience every second of it. This is without a doubt an utterly consuming, gripping, page turning read that just keeps anteing up.
From what I believe, this is the first in a series and I can PROMISE you that I will be the first in line not only to read the next instalment but her other books as well!
I received this book as an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I absolutely love this book
Addison bounces from one place to another. Losing her parents. Being a witness what happen to Tyler. Runaway from her pain, and quilt. Of leaving the only family that accept her. Never realizing someone was stalking her, as she cried herself to sleep. Starting a new life. She confronts Daniel. Tyler brother. Seeking answers from him. Will he answer her question? or deny her of not answering? What will happen, when the truth comes out? Will she forgive him? I recommend you to read this book. It deserves more than five stars. Is action-packed. A page-turner from the beginning. Scary as you discover how far someone will go to have you, and will not let you go. The plot is easy to read from the first page to the end. Based on realistic events that could happen in the real world. How twisted a mind of human works. The author did an amazing job as she pull you to different world. Where love and lust is a drug. You become addict beggin for more. And the characters speak to you an alternative way. Feeling every emotion and feeling they go through.
Willow Winters is a writer who seems to grab me with every book she releases, each one begging to be read. They promise the dark romances I love, the gritty story lines that keep you hooked. Despite having quite a few Willow Winters reads on my Kindle, it was only recently that I popped my Willow Winters cherry, I have no Idea why it’s taken me so long to read her books, I have everything she has wrote, I think it’s down to the shear amount on my TBR pile, which is a shame she is fantastic, I am happy to state that I have nearly caught up. I finished she asked for it and then realised there was a connecting story
We are introduced to Daniel and I was so excited for his story. Despite his appearance in She Asked For It, I had no idea what to expect from this one. Daniel was a fun character but there was such an aura of mystery around his character that I was clueless as to what I would be receiving with Possessive.
For those of you who have not read She Asked For It, do not feel as though you need to go and read it to enjoy this one. There are a couple of comments made to the events and characters, but it is not a case of needing to read one to understand the other. That being said, I would certainly recommend giving She Asked For It a read – it’s such a powerful book, one that is more than worth grabbing.
With Possessive, we’re thrown straight into Daniel’s story. We finally get the details of his life, his past, and all the darkness that surrounds him. I’ll be honest and say I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as I enjoyed She Asked For It, but it was a fun read. I think the reason I preferred She Asked For It is because Possessive was a slower read – it took a while before we’re completely sucked into the darker elements of this story, before we get all of the details, and while I loved the build-up I feel as though it did not hit as hard as the truth bombs that hit us in She Asked For It. I shouldn’t compare the two books, though, as they’re both wonderful within their own right.
Although it is a bit slow at first, the book does keep you turning pages. The story is gripping, slowly feeding you the information. There was a lot more build throughout this book than I’d expected, more elements were introduced than I’d originally anticipated, and I enjoyed the way so much was introduced in the later part of the book. Add in great characters and wonderful chemistry, and you know the romance side has you hooked as well.
My main issue, however, was with the ending of this one. Not that I disliked the ending – I loved it – it’s more so the fact I wasn’t forewarned of what was to come. You see, Possessive was advertised as a standalone novel. The romance does have a start and an end to the story, yet there are plenty of things left open. There are plenty of details that still need to be explained – and this is because it is connected to the upcoming story we are to receive for Carter. I love that we’re to get a story for Carter, I was hoping for more of his character, but I wish I’d been informed in advance that some details would be left open and would not be answered until the next book. I just wish it had come with a warning , as I was hoping everything would be cleared up in this one. My pet hate is books that are connected, authors tactic I know is to buy the next one, but with the amount of books I receive and review is phenomenal, that it’s then difficult for me to keep up.
Despite this fact, however, I am super excited to go into Carter’s story. Not only am I interested in getting the details to fill in the blanks relating to events in this one, but I’m also really excited to see how Carter’s story plays out. There’s such promise for how Carter’s tale will unfold, and I’m so eager to dive in.
I received this as an ARC for an honest review. A roller coaster of emotions that leaves you screaming for more! Absolutely AMAZING! Willow Winters once again creates another masterpiece! Daniel and Addison have a heart breaking back story that will bring you to tears, but have you praying they can make it to their happily ever after! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for
5 POSSESSIVE STARS!! Another MASTERPIECE from Willow Winters! This author transports her readers into her story land and we feel all their emotions. The story is beautifully written, raw, emotional, sexiness and one crazy rollercoaster ride. Get ready, Addison, Daniel and Tyler have a story to tell you. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Very emotional ride but I loved it so much. This was quite a different read for me and it had me in my feels! I felt every bit of emotion and pain from Addison, the same that I did with Daniel and his longing for Addison. This was not a book about perfect people and their perfect situation. The people and circumstances were all flawed but where you still rooted for them anyway. Being together was a bad idea, it didn’t make sense. But why did it feel so right? Daniel and Addison fit together in a way that made it impossible to resist. With a past full of as much pain as they have experienced, will they be able to finally have a happily ever after?
It was okay. The one thing that bothered me would be a spoiler, so I can’t rant about it. It’s just that it’s kind of annoying. There were lots of events and feelings introduced that were never resolved or explained. And I like my books all wrapped up with a bow. This is a series book, and I went looking for the cost of the second book only to discover I purchased the next book back is January 2019. Didn’t read it then. Guess I’ll read it now.
I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 3 because it didn’t grab my interest
You will experience heartache and tears in this book…but will enjoy the book. Loved how the heroine finds the HEA in the end.
I found this book a little hard to follow. A lot of back and forth between past and present. Almost felt like I missed a book before reading this one.
A death, forbidden desire, heart-break, longing with even stalking while looking for redemption, So many feelings of despair, but yet are hope and even love possible? Forgiveness? Not necessarily a tear-jerker, with emotion. Sad but will the soulmates prevail?
This is the story of Daniel Cross and Addison Fawn. These characters are seen throughout the Merciless Series, but this is their own story. This is a crazy story of two very broken people who are wrecked with guilt. The emotion tied up in this love story was wrenching.
This story is about Allison and Daniel and how they came to be. I always had wondered how these 2 came to be a couple. This book explains how Tyler, Daniels younger brother brought home one day a beautiful sad girl and fell in love, but both knew nothing could come of it.
