more
At 13 years old, Aspen was delighted to be back in the forest groves with her parents for 6 weeks of the summer, especially since she will rejoin her best friend, Willow. Her older brother, Reed, became a forest ranger and tags along with them to make sure they are okay. Running as fast as they can through the woods, Willow calls out to head for the lake. As they turn and take the downhill path, Aspen’s foot snags on a root, tripping her. She tumbles down the steep hill, out of control – and she can’t swim! She lands in the freezing cold water and sinks, but two strong arms wrap around her and pull her to the surface. “You’re safe with me, Aspen.” She will always remember that as Reed holds her and reassures her. They have a bond that can never be broken.
Aspen’s parents never took them to the forest again after the accident. But Aspen never stopped dreaming of Reed. By the time she turned 18, she knew she loved him. Now at 21, she is revisiting Willow and hopefully Reed. She gets there early and goes out alone for a hike, but the weather turns bad as a freak storm hits. Willow finds out from the Bed & Breakfast that Aspen is in the woods and didn’t come back, and she runs to her brother’s cabin to tell him Aspen is missing. She shows him Aspen’s picture on her phone so he knows what she looks like now to find her, and he realizes he has feelings for her.
Aspen found shelter in a cave and, sure enough, Reed found her. They stayed together while the rain didn’t let up. He had wrapped her in a warm blanket he brought for her. Having the time to get reacquainted, they both wanted to be together, although they realized Willow would probably have objections. Would they move forward with their relationship regardless? Could they let even Willow keep them apart?
This was a good story that will keep the reader smiling as the two main characters connect for the first time. Grab your copy and see if Willow finally realizes these two important people in her life need each other.
A Lovely Story About Following Your Heart and Finding Home Again…
I’ve read a lot of Flora Ferrari stories. It’s hard not to, there are literally hundreds of her “A Man Who Knows What He Wants” series books to read. However, unlike many of the others, which are quick and easy, insta-everythings, big on heat, but lacking a bit in substance, “Possessive Forest Ranger” is a story steeped in a more realistic, relatable landscape. A story world that will prick your heart with realization that what transpires between the couple presented, Reed and Aspen, is a familiar, heartwarming connection.
Here Ferrari presents us with Reed, a forty-something forest ranger. A calm and quiet man who enjoys his life in the woods. Someone who has dedicated much of his life to caring for his much younger sister after the death of their parents, and despite being lonely, is content with his solitary life and job. And Aspen, the twentysomething childhood best friend to Reed’s little sister Willow. A girl who has not seen her best friend in eight years after a death defying incident happens when Aspen is thirteen. An incident that leads her parents to abandon her beloved summer vacations in the woods, tearing her away from both Willow and Reed.
What follows is actually a very sweet and sentimental story about following your heart and finding home again. A story that sees Aspen taking a leap of faith, driving back out to the little vacation town she loves, and back to the best friend she misses terribly after graduating from school. Her goal, to take a brief break from the prescribed life her parents want her to live to reconnect with a life she truly loves. As well as, try and connect with her best friend’s older brother, a man she secretly longs for but is afraid to take a chance on.
It is a lovely tale about how sometimes the life laid out before us isn’t actually the life we want. And how it is often far to easy to follow along with what parents or others close to us convince us is best, rather than what our hearts and souls really desire. And unlike others in this long and sassy series, this one is a bit more grounded, a bit more heartfelt, and a lot more awwww inducing. Yes, it still has all the insta-love one would expect from a Ferrari short. However, while this one is more sweet than sex filled it is definitely worth the hour or so it takes to read.
Unexpected storms
Possessive Forest Ranger is the story of Aspen and Reed. For years Aspen and her family had gone to a small town in the mountains for the summer. When she was there she became best friends with Willow and they would run around the forest with her older brother Reed, by fifteen years and he is the local forest ranger, running after them making sure they were safe. When Aspen and Willow were thirteen they were running towards the lake but Aspen’s foot caught on a tree root which caused her to fall and then tumble down the hill until she was in the lake where she started to drown. But Reed quickly pulled her out and saved her. It was at that point that she started to fall in love with him. But her family left shortly after the incident and never returned which meant she and Willow never saw each other again, let alone Reed. Now, eight years later, Aspen has graduated with her dental nurse degree and decided to spend some time with Willow before starting to look for a job and become a self sufficient adult. After she checks into the local B&B she goes for a walk but a bad storm comes up unexpected catching her out in it. As she gets herself lost she does find a small cave and takes refuge.
Meanwhile, in town Willow had run to Reed’s Forest Ranger cabin because she knows that Aspen in out in the storm by herself. Reed remembers the young Aspen and how she always got herself into trouble, never meaning to. When he sees a current picture of Aspen he cannot believe the change and knows that he has to find her and then make her his. When he does find Aspen in the small cave he begins to take care of her and then some. But when the storm is over and they have to go back to the ranger cabin and face Willow what will happen?
This is a fast-paced and very run OTT older man/younger woman, sister best friend/best friend’s brother romance. It is well written with an interesting story-line and great characters. Plus I liked the two Epilogues which give a nice slice of everyone’s futures.
This forest ranger takes his job seriously. Especially when a young woman named Aspen is lost in his wilderness. She may be the bestie of his sister, but now is the time for him to claim, Aspen. Aspen knows she is in trouble and is hoping Reed finds her before its too late. These two have an instant connection and are not stopping until they are together as one.

I really liked this story. Reed was a single, hunky, forest ranger who didn’t date. Aspen was a friend of Reed’s sister and she had come back to the lake to visit her friend and also to see Reed. Aspen was in love with Reed and had been for the last 3 years. Aspen goes out for a hike and the weather turns bad and she needs to be rescued. When Reed goes looking for her and finds her he realizes he is in love with her. Reed wants Aspen but they have some family difficulties to overcome and some city vs. rural location, and age difference. It makes for an entertaining, passionate, steamy, crazy hot story. I think you will enjoy Reed and Aspen.

Aspen was thirteen the last time she saw her best friend Willow’s much older brother Reed. He saved her once from drowning, but the scare was enough to keep her and her family away for eight years. Deciding it’s time to visit her friend after so long, Aspen makes the trip and ends up needing to be saved again. Being saved by the man of her dreams is nothing new. Giving in to her feelings for him though could ruin a lifelong friendship.
Reed had no idea Aspen was back in town until Willow came to him, frantic that Aspen was lost in the woods during a storm. As a forest ranger, he’s obligated to find her. He gears up and goes searching. Finding her took time but once he did, he was taken aback by the woman she’d become and how much he wanted to make her his.
This best friend’s older brother romance explores the undeniable pull between adults and the resulting fallout of keeping their relationship from her best friend. Although Willow eventually came around, it was good to see her anger regarding their decision to lie as well as the underlying jealousy of what she perceived Aspen’s real reason to come back. If a relationship is going to touch another, I like to see that firework display as much as I do the ultimate reconciliation. For me, one is just as important as the other.
A good story, short, with a well thought out mix of heat, love, and friendship.

A quick short read. Great characters and storyline. One girl rescued by her hero after a bear drowning and 8 years later being rescued again from a storm and pack of wolves. Reed new he was thinking of Aspen for a while but didn’t really believe he would see her again. A sister will get in the way like a petulant child.
Lost in the woods
Yet another enjoyable OMYW instaEVERYTHING book from Flora. I just cannot get enough of these! It’s a quick read, but there’s so much going on.
This story is about Reed and Aspen. Reed is a forest ranger, and has been for years. His little sister Willow is Aspen’s best friend from childhood. Reed saved Aspen from a near-drowning when she was just 13 years old.
She’s now 21, and headed back to the small town where they grew up together. Aspen is very much looking forward to seeing her oldest friend after an eight year absence. She’s also hoping to see Reed, who she’s been lusting over since the age of 18.
After she has checked into her accommodation, she decides to go out for a hike into the woods she hasn’t been in for years. A storm suddenly comes across, and she takes shelter in a cave, waiting for the heavy rain to subside. Meanwhile, Willow has alerted Reed that she’s missing, and he goes out in search of her.
They shelter together until the storm passes. Their attraction is still there, and their obvious connection is growing quickly in such close quarters.
From here, their chemistry escalates further as they spend time together. Willow is angry and disappointed about where their relationship seems to be going, especially when they deny it when she asks about it. She’s both jealous and hurt. These are the two people she’s closest to, and she feels betrayed.
Despite this, Reed and Aspen are determined to continue on with their relationship, as their love for each is other is so strong. As always, relationships are mended, and everyone gets their well-deserved HEA – a Flora Ferrari guarantee!
