On my fourteenth birthday, I was promised to a very wealthy man… A domineering man. A powerful man. On that day, the first of two transactions were made with my very unloving parents. I became his possession.Something to own.Something to keep.An object intended only for his desire, his pleasure, and his … indulgence.Although promised to this man, I at least remained safe … untouched … … remained safe … untouched … pure. I was to be his and his alone.
On my eighteenth birthday, the second transaction took place.
I escaped…
But he came for me.
Now, I’m his. He owns my body and my soul.
And, as if all of that wasn’t enough, he wants to own my heart too.
I’m trying to resist him—trying to fight that irresistible monster inside of him. But, as with everything else in my life, nothing is ever that easy.

The story of Every and her savior, Drake, though savior was dark and twisted… Brace yourself… you will delve into the world of lust, trust and love.
I think that before I get into anything I should advise you that is book is a dark read and is not for the faint of heart. I also think that if you bear with Jaimie’s telling of Evelyn and Drake’s story you will not be disappointed with the outcome. At age 14, Evelyn Montgomery finds out that her parents are in the market to sell her. Evelyn calls upon the only person she knows that will protect her, Drake Salvatore, a business associate of her father that has become a close friend to her and the family. Instead of convincing her parents not to sell Evelyn, Drake buys her himself and, at age 18, Evelyn will be his. This book lead me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I suggest you give it a try whether you are a lover of dark romance or looking to dabble.
*I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Situations in life can always be worse than the one you’re in
Evelyn is marked by Drake Salvatore when she’s twelve and from then on she belongs to him. End of!
No matter how she tries to defy or escape, she simply cannot!. Drake is a monster who loves Evelyn fiercely. Her protection and possession his only aim in life.
She tries to push him, oppose him , run away from him, but to no avail. Eventually she’s caught , brought back and punished. Her heart hates him as much as her body loves him, she’s confused .
I hate what he’s doing to me , and I hate what he’s making me do against my will. Maybe if he was nice about it, I would love him like he wants me to. But he’s not asking for my love.
I think her lack of choice that really pisses her off more than his overbearing love . His final say and his word being law in every decision about her life is an excuse for fights .
The story progresses evenly
I must mention here, she’s 18 and him 30. When he saw her and says was captivated by her , she was 12 and him 24. It’s a bit disturbing but seeing the premise of the story , it will make sense.
There are a few inconsistencies…..or rather some things unexplained .
Certain scenes and feelings were in repeat , I felt
I love him, I hate him, I’m sacred of him, I call him for help, I climb all over him, I run away from him.
But I guess she’s 18 and a bit childish. I mean if she can toy with his description of his penis
“Watching your dangly bit tick-tock like a grandfather clock is highly amusing.”
All in all , a good read , just not for me
3.5 stars .sorry
I really love Jaimie’s books and this one hooked me right from the start.
Evelyn, was 14 when she was promised to Drake, her Parents didn’t love her all they seen was money… they never showed her love, at 18 she becomes Drakes possession he owns her. when she moves in things start to change and he isn’t the Drake she has known for the past years.
Drake is a man who takes what he wants and will not let anything or anyone get in his way… and will stop at nothing to protect what belongs to him. He is very controlling, ruthless, selfish. powerful man.
Then she escapes from him thinking she will be safer. only to realise Drake was the less evil of this other person who wants her….
How will it end all end… at times I really wanted to throw my kindle? It is a rollercoaster of a ride. it is well written, I love the writing, the story just draws you in. This book is so messed up one minute I am really liking Drake! the next I hated him, then I liked him again.
If you love Jaimie’s books you will love this one.
If you love Dark romances then you will absolutely love love Love this book I couldn’t put it down until I was done I literally devoured it my only complaint is that there isn’t more of them or perhaps another story just like this come on Jamie I need more of this kind of story line pretty please lol your amazing
AMAZING AUTHOR!!!!
Possession was painfully difficult for me to finish. I’ve read and enjoyed other books by Jaimie Roberts, but this one wasn’t for me. It just… didn’t work.
I couldn’t connect to the story or the characters. I found Evelyn extremely annoying and Drake was pretty bland even though he had a secret. The side characters were also uninteresting.
Even though my experience wasn’t a positive one, this won’t stop me from reading other books by Jaimie Roberts.
