Archer’s black heart bleeds for no one… his fifteenth wedding anniversary, he wonders why the hell he got hitched. He married someone he thought he’d fall in love with, but nothing sparked. Considering Clint was fastly approaching retirement from the police force, perhaps that didn’t matter.
Office holiday parties aren’t fun, but when a special guest catches Clint’s eye, things get interesting. Clint never intended to fall in lust with the artist, but the want outweighs the consequences, putting his good standing along with his marriage in jeopardy.
If only Archer cared about ruining things Clint worked so hard to build.
Portrait of a Black Heart is the prequel to Love Kills, featuring the character everyone loved to hate. A dark romance between men who use lust as the reason for their morally wrong decisions.
Warning: Violent flashbacks which include blood and death are described. Look inside for further warnings.

Archer is a unique person doesn’t care or like many things. The only things that he truly love is his art. The dark twist and turn of this story keep you memorize for the beginning. Beware this book not for the faint of hearts. highly recommend this book today
This book was so damn good for a prequel. I loved Love Kills but this one? So worth it! Archer is a character you love to hate, all his issues make him so lovable. He is so passionate about his art. I appreciated reading his backstory to see how Archer is. I loved Clint too he balances Archer in just the perfect way. Now I have to reread Love Kills again!
A strong book and not for the faint of heart!
Woww what a prequel this is!
The story jumps into Archer’s early life when he was just a young boy. His fixation for knifes and blood is already clear.
He loves reading and watching horror stories and doesn’t like people, especially his homophobic father and all the dumb kids at school.
“he’d already made up his mind: when he grew up, he’d live alone”
At fourteen he’s already a beautiful boy and doesn’t know it. Seeking peace alone, with movies and art. Meeting Joel changed his life. He became his best friend and free-spirit Joel is the only one he wants to have near.
I was stunned by everything Archer goes through. Every page was amazingly entertaining. I couldn’t put the book down.
We meet him through his teenage, his twenties until in his thirties. Everything he goes through is something and one of a kind!
F*cking through life, no strings, and art being his center, art as in morbid art.
There was Tony, Augie, Gabe, Dibbs and many others. He used them all to get what he wanted out of it. Then there was Clint.
Archer is a very talented artist, he is a beauty and has endless stamina, he’s selfish, egocentric, you’ll love and hate him. He has some very specific characteristics and I was be amazed by them.
What a great story this was. Captivatingly written, with a well thought out storyline.
I loved the way of storytelling, smoothly flowing sentences, a comfortable pace and with all the different interactions and sexual activity, it was intoxicating intriguing af!
This book is not light it is dark and twisted but oh so hot. This was a wonderful prequel to Love Kills on how Clint and Archer meant. I was hooked from beginning to end I just couldn’t put it down until I was finished and than I started reading Love Kills again. I definitely recommend this book if you like dark and twisted hot raw gritty books.
This book is a masterpiece. We finally found the story of Archer and how he becomes the one he is today. It’s not a book for faint hearted people having several triggers because it describes the struggles Archer confronts in his every day life. The trauma and neglect he suffers from the persons who should have been supporting and important in his life have an important role in becoming the one he is today. This book will keep you wondering what happens next and your heart will go to Archer in his most vulnerable moments. Is a book loaded with fillings and makes you wish he finds his happiness until the last word written.
Congratulations on book well written and keep sharing your work with us.
