With her pet crow Kingston and a tabby cat named Nevermore, she is settling right into her new life in the small coastal town of Port Danby. With a flower shop opening soon and a full cast of quirky neighbors and friends, her new digs are exactly what she’s been looking for. Away from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city Lacey has found peace and happiness. However, her heightened sense of smell proves to be of use once again when a Port Danby neighbor turns up dead. Lacey finds herself caught up in an unexpected murder investigation alongside the handsome local detective, James Briggs. She’s determined to find the killer and solve the murder mystery before any more bodies turn up.
Lacey ‘Pink’ Pinkerton, the local flower shop owner, is thrilled to supply colorful flower arrangements for the Third Annual Food Fair being held in the Port Danby town square. But when one of the well-known but not so well-loved bloggers is found dead in her motel room, Lacey steps in to help Detective James Briggs solve the case. (Whether he likes it or not.)
Port Danby is preparing for the annual Harbor Holiday Lights Flotilla, and Lacey ‘Pink’ Pinkerton is anxious to see the colorful boats light up Pickford Beach. But the festive spirits of the town are dampened when one of the boat owners is strangled to death. Lacey enthusiastically volunteers to help Detective Briggs sniff out the clues and track down the killer. Once again, she finds herself nose deep in a murder mystery.

The book had great characters and was very entertaining.
Easy to read.
Kept me thinking
Interesting characters in a unique location. The central female “detective” has a super sense of scents which is useful to the police detective in charge of the crimes in small town.
The author has a knack for settings the reader can visualize, and peoples her series with a distinct and likable cast of residents.
If you love cozy mysteries, I highly recommend these books. Loved them Soooooo much I’m reading the rest of the series !
I greatly enjoyed reading this set of three books. Each one can be read alone, but the story within each book of the different characters is better if they are read in order.
Love
A 3-star rating for this cute and pleasant series of very light mysteries with a mere hint of romance, thus far. While not in the least realistic in any respect, the writing is competent and the stories are capably crafted to appeal to female readers with a taste for such mysteries. Some of the cultural references seem to clash a bit with the youth of the protagonist, being primarily from the 1960’s-1980’s, and may confound similarly-aged readers for that reason, but that shouldn’t trouble any readers who can suspend belief far enough to accept olfactory clues would be an essential element to resolving any number of village murders.
One of the best book series I have ever read. Fun, entertaining characters in a delightful setting. I didn’t want to quit reading!
These are great books. I have read the first three and am looking forward to the next one.
I wish I could move to Port Danby!
great, easy reading, good stories
Finished Book one. Looking forward to the next chapter.
THIS WAS A FUN READ. IT HELD MY INTEREST AND NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE MYSTERY BUT THE INERACTION BETWEEN THE CAHRACTERS AND WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT.
What a great series! These were so enjoyable and the characters were well written and believable. I enjoyed all three of them.
Although not realistic for a citizen to help the police in the ways she does, it doesn’t bother me – characters are likeable, real, and funny. Enjoyable. Clean.
What is there not to love about a good cozy starring a Flower Shop Owner with a hyper sense of smell and a Raven for a pet named Kingston and a cat called Nevermore. For readers who want to sit back relax and enjoy the ride Lacey “Pink” Pinkerton is a great heroine to go along with. The characters are great and the stories are interesting and original. I highly recommend this book.
Interesting book if not always plausible. Still a light fun cozy.Books 2 and 3 are better written and I enjoyed them
Lacey Pinkerton suffers from hyperosmia – an extreme sense of smell. After she quit her job as a perfume company, she moved to the small town of Port Danby to open a flower shop. Her next door neighbor, Dash, is a handsome bachelor but only a friend. Lacey is attracted to Detective James Brigg, especially after her super sensitive nose helps him solve a murder. These first three books of the Port Danby have a lot going for them. The book focuses on realistic character development, with people gradually getting to know one another. The book contains virtually no profanity. No one jumps into bed willy nilly for quick sex. The small tourist town hosts several holiday-themed events, all of which are charming and highlight how hard townspeople work at making things enjoyable for the visitors. Overall, thre books are easy to recommend.
