HarleyWhat happens when the most successful boy band on the planet breaks up?How about twenty thousand fans screaming my name. But the price of fame comes with an increased risk to my safety.I’ve been avoiding the dreaded B word for as long as I can, but after a close call with a rambunctious fan, I can’t do it anymore. It’s time to give in.I need to hire a full-time bodyguard. And when he shows up, … bodyguard.
And when he shows up, he not only screams badass, he’s another B word I try to stay away from: boyfriend material.
Brix
Protecting people is not what my company usually does, but the boss knows I need money, and the pop star is offering an insane amount to live with him and make sure no more crazy fans break into his house.
I’m doing it for the money and nothing else.
He may be the prettiest man I’ve ever seen, and I may feel sorry for the celebrity life he’s been forced into since he was a teenager, but that doesn’t mean anything.
Just because he fascinates me, that doesn’t mean I like him.
It doesn’t.
Professionalism. I’m gonna live it. Breathe it. Enforce it … Mostly.

Harley has been living in the limelight for the last ten years in a boy band and then once they broke up as a solo artist. He has the perfect life – an amazing talent, boat loads of money, an incredible career, a beautiful fiancé – but he is living in the closet and he is forced to stay there. All he wants is to have the career he loves and be loved and he firmly believes that those are mutually exclusive. One day after a meet and greet he comes home to a find that a fan has broken into his home. This break in scares Harley and forces him to hire a bodyguard, Brix, to shadow him for six months. Brix is former army who came to work for a private security firm to help cover the costs of is mounting debt. When he was given the assignment to protect Brix he did not want to babysit a diva pop star but the money was too good to pass up. Neither one got what they were expecting when they met each other.
My heart absolutely broke for Harley. I hated how he didn’t think he could have what he wanted and that his label was so controlling. But I loved how the big and scary army dude came in and gave a completely different perspective on everything for Harley. Made him see his worth and that there was more to his life than the label. I also loved how Brix had the biggest gooey heart of them all; how even though it was his job he still felt this innate need to protect Harley. Just had me melting. Brix owns my heart. And can we talk about their banter and inner dialogue? I was dying of laughter – these two were freaking hilarious and I couldn’t get enough of it. Then there is the suspense aspect of the book – can’t have a bodyguard/ex-army book without some suspense and it that was perfect. It was always simmering there in the background and then comes to a head at the perfect moment to round out all the feels. I had laughter, swooning, tears and suspense. Overall this was a captivating read that I devoured in one sitting. It was my first book by Eden Finley and it will not be my last. I cannot wait to dig into her backlog. I highly recommend you pick up this book and devour it like I did.
Oh man, I’ve been dying for Harley’s story and it did not disappoint. I wasn’t sure I liked Harley when we first saw him with Jay… but honestly? I fell in love with him and Brix. Their story was cute and I loved it. Their journey was an amazing ride. I have always loved a good client/bodyguard romance and this was seriously amazing.
There is some surprise guests that it was fun to check in with.
I’m dying for the rest of the series now. There are some definite stories from the band Eleven and I can’t wait to read it.
I knew there was more to Harley than met the eye. I’m so glad we got his story. He and Brix had great chemistry. Harley let down his walls with Brix. They were both better with the other. Loved this story.
I have read all of Eden’s books and once again I am in awe at her writing skills. This book stands out compared to the others because of the dialogues. I loved Harley and Brix’s exchanges of perspectives on life goals, love, friendship. I laughed more than once and now I feel like these two MCs have become friends and I am looking forward to reading updates on their relationship and Harley’s career.
I’ve been dying to read Harley’s story ever since we met him in Hat Trick. After a scary incident Harley’s manager convinces him to agree to hire a bodyguard. That bodyguard turns out to be Brix, an ex-Army soldier who is only taking the job because he needs the money. These two are an unlikely pair but they make it work. The things I loved most was there banter and all the crazy thought going on in both their heads. It was great seeing their love for each other grow throughout the story. I can’t wait for the next book.
