This story has some serious hotness going on, but it also had an interesting twist in the storyline. No details but, I will say how many women would willingly without perception see there partner is missing something in there relationship and grasp it to make that person happy. That to me is what makes this story unique and well worth the listen, that and the narration by Erin Bateman and George Orlando.
Audiobook version:
OH . MY . HOTNESS!! This book is a fire hazard! I absolutely loved it! The story was original, steamy and kept me hooked the whole way through. The characters were great and were really brought off the pages with this amazing audio. I can’t wait to read the next book!

This is a Fantastic Story
Its plot is not normally my cup of tea, but I wanted to expand my possibilities. Rory and Spencer are a three year long, happily living together couple. Each of them have secret longings, that although not completely acknowledged, lay in the back of their minds as loosely formed desires. Along comes Jack. Not only does he disrupt their happy twosome, but he’s able to stitch them back together in a new way of being. It becomes the big surprise for all three of them. Each lover in this trio start in one space at the beginning and wind up in an intra-space by the end.
I don’t want to give away the beauty of the love story or the sexiness of their interactions, but the steam factor is a ten out of ten.
Polished, my first book by this author. And it won’t be my last!
Talk about hot and smexy read! And it tugged on my heartstrings too!
“We all have our demons, Spence. But we don’t have to let them define us.”
It was a different writing style, not in a bad way. Just different. It didn’t took long before I was accustomed to it.
But what a story! I loved the connection between these three people, and I found myself to be a bit jealous of Rory!
I liked it
Rory and Spencer made a wonderful couple. She was working on becoming a psychologist and he was a demo guy. They loved everything together. Jack was the the main guy working with Spencer at the sight. They got caught in the tunnel one night after a water line broke and flooded. They help each other out. Rory ended up calling rescue when he came home, but she was the one that set them in their path of a relationship.
Spencer Hartley and his live-in girlfriend Rory Campbell have an almost perfect relationship. They’re best friends living a good life and having an off-the-charts physical relationship. But…Spencer can’t seem to ignore his attraction to other men, especially Jack Rothman, the arrogant consultant he’s working with. When they get stuck for hours in an underground tunnel following an explosion, his feelings are hard to ignore. Meanwhile, Rory is aware of Spencer’s other side (Jack sees it, too) but doesn’t know how to approach the subject she’s open to exploring.
I really liked this story, primarily because the characters were so refreshing and honest. Spencer and Rory were quite happy in their relationship so it wasn’t about anything missing. Jack was quite lonely, isolated and frustrated with his career and personal life, having to hide his bi-sexuality. When circumstances caused the three of them to be together overnight, the spark was lit and refused to be extinguished. Yes, the sexual encounters were explosive (pardon the pun given Spencer’s vocation) and highly erotic but more importantly, the story and characterizations were so very strong throughout.
This is also a duet narration (where the male and female narrators transition anytime there is a gender change in dialogue or narrative) and it was superbly executed. Both narrators were excellent, especially Erin Bateman. She was SO good!
I kind of inhaled this book, finishing it in a day. Loved the characters and the erotica, which was well done by the way. It really helped define the three and I liked how their issues were developed and resolved. Nothing easy here and the audio performance made a difference for me. Looking forward to the next chapter in this relationship.
4 Star review Polished (Polished #1)
I actually listened to this on audible and the narrators did a credible job, although to be honest I much preferred the male narrator over the female.
Rory and Spencer have been together for years and in fact Spencer plans to propose soon. However there is one slight problem he needs to overcome, his bi-sexuality which he has not come to terms with.
Jack works in the family business and meets Spencer through work; a job he hates.
Rory knows that Spencer has needs he has not faced and is not shocked or opposed to him exploring them. However Spencer has mo intention of doing so, until an accident puts him and Jack together trapped underground awaiting rescue.
Whilst awaiting rescue , both men injured, they have nothing to do but get to know each other. Both of them are attracted to each other but Spencer pushes down his feelings.
Once rescued Rory and Spencer offer Jack their spare room for the night.
There are sparks of attraction smouldering between all three, the only question is whether any of them will have the courage to act on them.
Jack is a Dominant Alpha and he senses the needs and longings in both Spencer and Rory. want my own Jack and Spencer
I want my own Jack and Spencer. I found the characters easy to relate too, perhaps because Ms. Turner allowed the flaws and insecurities to shine through, making the story more realistic.
When a misunderstanding tears them apart, will they be able to move through it and find what they all need? Or will the relationship be over before it has a chance to flourish?
This was a very hot and passionate book which is a MMF with BDSM interactions and I look forward to checking out more books from Alyssa Turner.
Rory loves Spencer so much, they’ve been together now for about three years.
And she’s going to miss him when he goes away for a month to work!
Spencer is a little of an adrenaline junkie, his job is a stressful one, so mountain climbing allows him to destress, the other way he finds his center is being with Rory, she’s more than a match for him.
She gets him, and he wants nothing more than to be with her forever, he needs just a little more money and the courage to tell her his darkest secret!
Jack is king of his hill!
He doesn’t need nor require love, it’s an unnecessary emotion! All he needs is to succeed and build his fathers company into something big, always trying to get his father approval.
And anyway he can usually find someone to waste a few hours with…..
Jack and Spencer work with one another (well actually Jack is his new boss) and there is something there, but neither really notice it, that is until an accident has them relying on one another. They bond over the hours they are trapped.
I didn’t really get any sexual tension, but I did get a little vibe, that they could be interested in getting to know each other better.
I haven’t read this author before, but this won’t be the last book I’ll read of hers.
After being rescued Jack spends time with Spencer and Rory in their home, and he gets to witness first hand a couple very much in love.
And Jack realises he wants that, but he wants it with them!
I don’t usually read established couples that bring in a third person, it’s usually a threesome that evolve together.
So I did have to worry that Jack would upset the balance, he’s giving Spencer something that Rory can’t! But he’s also giving something to Rory, so I suppose it should work out.
But what does Jack get out of this arrangement?
He gets the love and family that he desperately needs and didn’t even knew he needed it.
With the three of them exploring their attraction to one another, there is no jealousy, no competing for one another’s time.
And throw in the fact Spencer and Rory begin to obey Jack’s every command, it seems like a match made in heaven…..
The families that go with the three characters are not really very supportive of this new found relationship!
And when a misunderstanding separates Jack from his new lovers, you do have to wonder if it’s going to be the last time he ever sees them!
It’s a great story, no angst, only worry that Jack isn’t good enough for his new lovers! And the fact Spencer doesn’t think Rory will continue to love him after he tells her of his sexual orientation!
It’s beautifully written and I know there is another book with this couple in it. And I can’t wait to read it.
Polished, the story of Spencer and Rory, plus Jack, is one of giving within a loving relationship. You can give to another without being in love with them. But to love someone means to lovingly give to them. Giving in Polished takes the form of granting permission and encouragement. After Spencer and Jack survived a near-disaster, Rory encourages Spencer to reveal his feelings to Jack. And Spencer, in turn, lets Rory know he is in favor of her developing her relationship with Jack also. They love each other so much, each wants the other to feel free to expand the love they have to include Jack as well. I found this to be a very beautiful and poignant menage story. The characters are captivating and very well-rounded. I loved them. It’s a well-written book, and well-edited also. I am glad I found this author and I look forward to reading her other books!
Love is Love
This story is a celebration of love, love, love. The build-up, the anticipation, it’s all so oh-so-good! The chemistry between Rory, Spencer and Hack is intense, and I loved how they made there three-way relationship work. A little longer than Ms. Turner’s more recent work, I enjoyed how the relationship builds slower, over a longer period of time, with more hurdles to overcome. I’m super excited to read Swept, and see what comes next for this delightful trio.
Absolutely Scintillating!
I love a good bi-love story and this definitely falls in that category! I read this a couple of years ago and am happy that I revisited it. I originally planned to skim it to reacquaint myself with the characters before I finally read book 2 but I couldn’t stop reading the words again with renewed interest.
I’m left feeling very needy for several things: more of Rory, Spencer, and Jack; Brice and Devin’s story; and most importantly, relief from all of the tension that has built up within me. This trio are incredibly hot and their dynamics are interesting to watch morph into a committed circle. I also love the BDSM elements. Absolutely scintillating!
Please excuse me while I change into something dry.
WOW, this is a steamy hot story of two lovers Rory and Spenser who have been together for three years and are planning a life together but have never been honest about their true desires. Jack is empty inside, looking for something but not sure what, he’s not happy with his job or his relationship with his dad. These three are meant to be together. I enjoyed that they just fit together each being able to give the others what they needed, it took some work and drama but beautiful in the end. The best part of this book was all the love and feelings felt and expressed between this trio.
Rory, Spencer and Jack were hot together! They had this passion that just clicked and you could see it jump off the page from the start. I wish it had been in 1st POV with alternating chapters to a deeper connection with the characters. I did like them though. The plot was pretty predictable on what was going to happen…. not a whole lot of drama, and a good amount of love.
While I found the sex scenes hot as sin at Rome’s it took away from the overall story. It’s not that it was too much sex, but some of it left me with a lot to be desired at times. I also felt that the drama that this story did deal with was a little too rushed. Especially with Jacks dad. But If you looking for a good story with decent sex scenes with a woman and two hot men this this story is a good weekend read. 3 stars #2OCCJD
