Not all evil comes from a bad place… After making a promise to a dying king, Katya changed herself into the person she needed to be to forge a hero. With her best friend raising an army against her, and the people ready to rebel, she has the pieces where she needs them to be. If only she can bring herself to complete the puzzle and force a princess to become the person she needs to be. – … needs to be.

This was a fantastic rework of Snow White out of a completely different view point. I loved how it all played out! I could not put the book down and it gave me a rush to read it! I would recommend it to all!!

A look into the life of an evil Queen we thought we knew. Katya is Queen of the kingdom. A Queen that is not well liked by her subjects. There is unrest in the kingdom and a war is being fought. Lucia is the rebel leader and maybe the real Queen.
I like this retelling, back story of the evil queen of snow white. It allows us to see that maybe the queen was really not so evil. She actually has a heart and did what was in the best interest of the people that she cared about. It was great to see the other characters in the story in a different light as well. Truly enjoying the series.

Katya made a promise to her father in law to become a queen hated by everyone so her best friend Lucia could become the queen in the prophecy. If Lucia didn’t, then terrible things would happen. Will Katya be able to pull off her plans and remain true to herself? I enjoyed this wonderful, creative twist on Snow White. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Laura takes the tell of Snow White but from the perspective of the “ Evil Queen” as only Laura can deliver it. Kudos to Laura.

Doing what needs to be done so that a heroine can grow and be shaped into a leader is crushing for the queen
Can they save their nation, their people, their relationships and themselves?
Entangled romance and conflicts

Snow Whites story told from the so called evil queen perspective. Not everything about her is what it seems. Katya (FMC – The Queen) has made a promise to a dying king changes how she is perceived by everyone including Lucia (Snow White). I loved how we got to know the real Katya. It was a real nice turn about. Not only that you see just how ostracized and lonely her life was playing the part she was given. An anti heroine if there ever was one but also in this book you actually want to get her HEA
Good story that takes a classic fairytale- in this case Snow White- and asks why the villain might have turned out the way they did.
This was not the usual evil witch story. I loved the direction it took. It was amazing. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Who doesn’t love to read a classic fairy tale redone from the point of the “bad guy”? This was a fun read and I enjoyed this take of the Snow White fairy tale.

I really enjoyed this retelling of Snow White but in the view of the Evil Queen instead of the princess. It was exciting and drew me in from the very beginning. I was left guessing the whole story on what would happen and how it would end. I enjoyed the fact that we find out that the evil queen is actually not so evil and it is all for show in order to fulfill a promise. I love reading fairy tale retellings and would definitely recommend this one. I can’t wait for the next story in this series!

What if the Evil Queen wasn’t evil? Katya married her best friend’s brother in order to help the kingdom and Lucia her best friend. But Katy made a death bed promise her father-in-law died, and now that her husband is dead too, she has to fulfill the promise. And in order to do so she has to turn herself into an evil queen who cares nothing for her people or her former best friend Lucia. She’s never know love and now that everyone hates her, what will she turn into? Once the prophecy is fulfilled she will probably be dead. But what she doesn’t know is that someone has loved her for years and if she gives him a chance he might be able to help her with her plans and save her. Everything I love in a story!
“Poisoned Fate,” tells the story of Snow White from the Evil Queens POV. Queen Katya makes a death bed promise to her father-in-law, the king, that she would help Lucia/Snow White gain the throne and become worthy to rule by becoming a supposed evil queen and Lucia being the kingdoms savior. This is a wonderfully twisted tale where the main characters get their HEA.

Laura Greenwood has lately become my go to author. I know that her books are perfect for busy days, when I’m tired or don’t feel too well. They’re always a little heart warming, they’re easy to read and they always leave me with a smile on my face. Today was one of those days again. I had a headache, work was busy and I have another ARC deadline to make for a high fantasy novel that doesn’t read this easily.
Once more Greenwood provided me with the perfect escape. For a few pages I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to read this book in one sitting, like I’d hoped, but after a few chapters I knew I was not gonna put the book away before I had finished it. This take on Snow White and especially the Evil Queen in the story was really well done. All the elements of the original story were there, every little detail and yet there were so many new sides to the story to discover too!
The Evil Queen in this version is a really tragic woman, actually. Her entire life she does everything for others. She’s one of the most selfless characters I’ve ever encountered. It’s quite interesting how you can create a character like this, in every way a Fairytale heroine, while still making her the perfect villain in someone else’s story. And even though I was rooting for Snow, I really hoped that this Evil Queen would get her own happy ending too.
And it’s strange, because ever since I finished the story I was wondering if there hadn’t been another way for the Evil Queen to keep her promises, and yet, I can’t really come up with one. I guess that’s what made it so easy to identify with her and to feel for her. I’m not sure if I had been strong enough to do the same thing, if I had been selfless enough to do the same thing, but I really admire this young woman for the person she became. No matter how strange that sounds considering she’s still very much Snow White’s Evil Queen.
This was a truly ingenious take on this fairy tale!
Cleverly written with compelling characters.
Highly recommended.

Katya married in the royal family to help her best friends brother. Lucia and Katya were like sisters, until her father had her make a promise. Katya had to become a Queen everyone hated, to help Lucia become the Queen she is supposed to be. According to her father in law, there is a prophecy saying if Lucia doesn’t, then terrible things will be fall everyone.
Kayta crafted her course with keeping her promise. She slowly made maneuvers that made Lucia hate her and want her kingdom. Things are moving to slowly, so moves up some of her plans. A prince comes for Lucia’s hand in marriage. Kayta allows him to stay, she is trying to think how to work him into her plans. Her good friend Gideon comes, she finally tells him the whole truth of what is going on. Gideon comes up with some great plans to help with the prince and her other plans. Will Katya be able to get Lucia to be the person she is meant to be, Will Katya become what she fears worst. Or will Katya allow love into her heart, that will allow her to do what is needed
This was a great new take on Snow White from the Queen’s side. You get pulled right into the action, you will finish before you know. I recommend reading this.

I’ll bet you have heard some parents talking about ‘tough love’ to help their kids grow up. This was TOUGH love intended to turn a airheaded socialite into a reigning queen. I can only applaud Katya for being strong and resolute enough to do what she had to and I am glad that she has her happy ending.
