I really enjoyed the protagonist, Mollie, and Scooter—a married couple who live on a sailboat docked at a marina in Florida while they work on making it seaworthy. They have a cool cat, Mrs. Moto who has quite the personality! The dialogue between this husband and wife is really fun and entertaining. Imagine your husband signing you up for a rutabaga diet! LOL!
Mollie has a penchant for finding dead people when she’s not working for an alien research organization. An eclectic group of people inhabit the boatyard. The author writes a solid, clever mystery that kept me guessing whodunnit. Fun summer reading!

This is the third book in this series, but it’s the first one I’ve read. I will definitely go back to read the first two in the series. This was such a fun and cute story, despite the murder.
I haven’t read a lot of cozy mysteries, but if they are all like this, I could definitely read more.
Even though this is the third in this series, I did not feel lost in the plot or disassociated from the characters. Plus, there are pets in this story and I adore animals. If it weren’t for my allergies I’m sure I’d be more of a cat person than I am, but even so, Mrs. Moto stole the show more than once. Just so cute.
My only concerns about this lovely read are: 1) the mystery didn’t begin until almost a quarter of the way through the book. Leading up to the mystery there was some great character development and world-building, but I was beginning to worry I was reading a contemporary and not a mystery. 2) the way the mystery was solved was clever but it seemed a little too easy. Still, it was satisfying. I mean, this is a cozy mystery, not a suspense thriller.
This was a truly fun read. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series. Highly recommended to fans of cozy mysteries, humorous fiction, and character-driven stories.

This is a fun and fascinating mystery with fabulous characters. I love Mollie and Coconut Cove. This book is well-written with plenty of twists to keep me guessing to the end. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Mollie cannot function without chocolate. Scooter is on an extreme diet and thrown out all their junk food. Her diet may even interfere with her finding out the truth behind the latest murder. Ellen Jacobson has cooked up a hilarious mystery with some quirky characters. I have enjoyed the entire series.

What a fun book! Just like the two previous books starring Mollie McGhie, you can expect humor and a dead body. Mollie has a bad habit of finding the body. But first, Mollie’s husband has come up with another brilliant (according to him), lame-brained (according to Mollie) idea. This time it’s a diet featuring rutabagas. My folks made me eat rutabagas as a kid. No way would I ever eat them willingly. Finding clues connected to the rutabaga diet lead Mollie on a merry chase after the killer. Though the reader will probably figure out who the killer is before Mollie, you might not figure out the motive as easily. Ms. Jacobson’s books are always entertaining. Hope she writes more.
