#1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole introduces The Arcana Chronicles, post-apocalyptic tales filled with riveting action, the dark mysticism of Tarot cards, and breathtaking romance.
She could save the world — or destroy it.
Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life — until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates … hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, killing everyone she loves, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future — and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.
But she can’t do either alone.
With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally trust Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?
Who can Evie trust?
As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side…

Best book with the worst title?
I really liked Poison Princess and the subsequent books in the series so far, but am loath to recommend it because the title elicits eye rolls.
Are there any other books with off-putting titles that are worth a read?
The writing is great. The characters are so complex, interesting, witty, and wonderful. This is the best post-apocalyptic read I’ve read in a very long time!
A great start to a fantastic series. Once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down. If you’re a fan of dystopian YA, you need to read this. Now.
Honestly, this is the first ever book I’d read that has a tarot concept, especially the main 22 characters are from the 22 major arcana cards. The premise was strong, and the tarot concept is unique but very rare to find in any fantasy books nowadays.
The concept of the story is 22 teenagers who are the major arcana has to compete in the arcana …
This book was the first book I read when I was 13 years old. Loved the book. I loved the chemistry between the main girl and bad boy. Recommend this book.
This is a fantastic beginning for the series! Drama, and of the world, teen angst. It has it all. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us next!!
Love the Arcana Chronicles series, you have to read the books in order or none of it will make sense. This book is full of adventure, suspense and “almost romance.”
Each book makes you hang on by a thread waiting for the next one.
The first book in this series was so good! 5 stars! My 4 star rating is for the series as a whole, with each book I did find myself slightly less interested, but still great read/listen.
I enjoy this series which is more of a YA series though there is some not-so-descriptive sex. The premise is unique and interesting.
I love books where authors build credible worlds with believable characters. It’s just such a talent and when I sit down to read a Kresley Cole book. I know I’m going to be transported somewhere far, far away. Poison Princess isn’t just another dystopian future novel set with teenagers. The characters have bite as they are stuck in their endless …
Mix in the apocalypse with a supernatural theme that’s different in so many ways, and you have Poison Princess. I love this story and the depth each character unravels as the story progresses. Good? Evil? Can’t we all be both?
If you love books that capture your attention, entertain, shock, and make you think, all mixed in with love, then check …
My daughter and I both love this writer and this series. Kresley Cole never disappoints.
