I loved this first Claudia Rose book from Sheila Lowe. It was the 4th book I’d read from her and every time I am impressed with her language use. This book kept me guessing until the last page!
Claudia Rose, handwriting expert, is hired to find out if an old friend of hers—a well-known publicist— actually committed suicide. Or was she murdered? Claudia investigates to the dismay of the handsome homicide detective.
A smart, fast-moving mystery. I plan to read many more in this series.
Poison Pen: A Claudia Rose Novel (Forensic Handwriting Mysteries #1) was a great read by Sheila Lowe. Claudia is a handwriting expert who analyzes a letter from a former friend. The authorities believe it’s a suicide note, but Claudia doesn’t believe that. She looks into the killing alongside detective Joel Jovanic. I enjoyed reading this book and …
I love this book! I read a lot of mysteries and this one really stands out. It’s the first in a series and a great start. I have bought the next few books in the series and have gifted a few to my friends. The main character is a graphologist–an expert in handwriting analysis. So the fun part is that throughout the story are little mini lessons …
This was the first book written by Sheila Lowe that I read, and I fell in love with Claudia Rose and her life as a strong, independent, inquisitive woman. Claudia is very realistic – she’s someone any woman can relate to. I always look forward to her next adventure!
Poison Pen, by Sheila Lowe, is the first mystery in the Forensic Handwriting series with a gripping plot and intriguing characters. Lowe capitalizes on her expertise in handwriting analysis, by bringing readers a tenacious main character, Claudia Rose. After Claudia is hired to analyze a suicide note, she becomes embroiled in the investigation, …
The first book in the Claudia Rose series of forensic handwriting mysteries, Poison Pen pins you to your chair and doesn’t let you up until you’ve raced through to the end. With exceptional insights from real-life Forensic Handwriting Analyst, Sheila Lowe, this book (series) is impossible to put down. So set yourself up with your favorite beverage …
Poison Pen is a genuinely fun mystery with a great, strong-willed and opinionated protagonist, Claudia Rose, who is – like the book’s author – a forensic handwriting analyst working in Los Angeles. Well, genuinely fun to me. Then again, I can call a book that opens with a suspicious suicide “fun” – I don’t want to make assumptions about your …
Lowe really sucks you in with her storytelling. Claudia Rose is a terrific character. Better yet, when she acts like the amateur she is, she acknowledges that she was being an idiot, then does things more intelligently the next time. In addition, the relationship with Jovanec is paced nicely and a lot of fun.
