He was the man who destroyed me. The monster who left me in pieces over a decade ago.
I swore I’d never speak to him again, that I’d never set eyes on him again as long as I lived.
But I was wrong.
When life gets too much and you need to escape, the poison that might kill you becomes oh so tempting.
I craved his body, his smirk, his laughter as he pushed me to my limits.
I needed a release. Just … release. Just once.
Just one night. That’s what I told myself.
No strings, no illusions, no promises. Nothing but the lasting thrill of his flesh on mine.
The lasting hit of his poisonous touch.
But when poison runs through your veins, the way he runs through mine, it’s toxic and eats you alive.
And this much passion always comes at a price…

Anna knows her relationship with Sebastian isn’t working, and she wants out. So she leaves even as he’s spitting vile things at her. She should feel bad for leaving the man who picked her up from the filth, but she just can’t. She wants something other than the numbness, other than the control he’s exerted over every facet of her life. So messaging her ex, the man who destroyed her, seems counter-intuitive, but it’s not really because if Lucas can do anything for her, it’s to bring her alive again with all his filthy, dirty ways. It won’t be love or a relationship, though, because he can’t give her those things, and she doesn’t want them from him anyway. It’ll just be a thing with all the dirty that Lucas always brings. Then she’ll be on her way. Except not, of course not because sex with an ex always brings back the feelings!
I will be the first to say that Jade West’s writing is always dirty, and Poison is definitely that. Sometimes it’s a little much, and not to my taste, but the chemistry between Lucas and Anna is hot, like 5 alarm hot. I love that they got their second chance and could feel Jade’s pain and love as she was writing this story.

Anna felt her identity was drained living with Sebastian she wanted a spark of passion.
Her memories drift to 10 years ago and Lucas, before she can think a text is sent but will it still be his number?
This story is about passion, and yes the scenes are hot, betrayal and the mistakes that were made.
It was brilliant watching Anna discover herself again. Lucas facing it to his mistakes and wanting the best for Millie.
