Point of Danger was a story I really enjoyed. Eve was a strong woman. I liked that she took the threats to herself seriously, contacting police and actually listening to them as they tried to work out who was behind everything.
Brent was also a strong character, a first time detective, yet he had been a police officer for ten years already. He was an interesting character who carried emotional burdens from his childhood.
Eve and Brent had a good working and personal dynamic when they were together. Their interactions felt very real in they way they talked and handled things.
The political problems and violence covered in this story were also very realistic to what is going on in the world today, making this story feel very relevant.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This book is a must-read for fans of Irene Hannon! She starts this new series off with a bang as we are introduced to radio talk show host Eve Reilly and Detective Brent Lange. The multitude of suspects with a motive to hurt Eve will keep you on your toes until the mastermind is revealed!
The story does have a bit of a political focus, since Eve is an outspoken conservative talk show host. It feels very relevant to the news of the day, almost like it could be ripped from the headlines! The fast-paced plot is balanced out with quieter moments as Eve and Brent get to know each other. Brent’s struggle with trusting someone with his heart feels authentic, because of both his childhood and his law enforcement career, and I really enjoyed the way his and Eve’s relationship developed. Eve’s two sisters are fun characters too – I love the sister dynamic, and I can’t wait to read more about them in the next books!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Revell!
I’ve long been a fan of Irene Hannon and enjoyed this latest offering. The plot kept me guessing and the character development was really well handled. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book but the opinions are my own.
Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is the first book in her Triple Threat series. Eve Reilly is the host of a radio talk show. She is very vocal about her beliefs. Now someone wants her silenced – permanently! Police Detective Brent Lange is in charge of Eve’s case. He finds that none of the threats seem to be linked but his gut instinct says they are. Now, Brent is in a race against time to figure out who wants Eve dead before they actually succeed. There were a lot of characters to try to keep up with in this story and at times I had to thumb back through the story to figure out who was who. But that didn’t stop the suspense from building. You weren’t sure who to trust. The ending was a total shock! I never saw that coming! I enjoyed the comradery of the three sisters. I can’t wait for the next book!
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.
What a fantastic read! I never miss a book by Irene and this one of her best. The mystery was excellent and had me really trying to figure out all the pieces. The story moved well and kept me involved throughout and kept me guessing as I read. I really liked the Reilly sisters and I look forward to Grace and Cate’s stories. It was a quick easy read, perfect for a day spent at home. Can’t wait for my next adventure with Irene’s stories!
I received this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
Only Irene Hannon could write this.
Point of Danger begins Irene Hannon’s Triple Threat series. I enjoyed this Romantic Suspense. It has a lot that I enjoy in a book. Which includes: mystery, suspense, inspiration, action, danger, adventure, and romance. I was intrigued with each page in this one. I really enjoyed getting to know Eva and Brent. They had great chemistry together and a perfect duo. The story was far from being predictable and I never knew where they would end up in each scene. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat all through out the book. It was so very good.
Point of Danger gets five stars from me. I look forward to reading the next installment from the Triple Threat series to find out what happens following this one.
I received Point of Danger from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
I have a rule about suspenseful books. It says that if you open your book with a statement like, “The package was ticking,” you had better deliver. Thanks, Irene Hannon; you kept my heart pounding until the very last word of Point of Danger. There is no doubt the first novel of her Triple Threat series snatched my attention from the get-go and didn’t let go.
Irene Hannon has woven an intricate web of social and political intrigue based on events we have seen unfolding as we watch the evening news, which made Point of Danger very relevant, very real, and very intense. I picked up this book, read her opening declaration, and promptly informed everyone in my house to go away until I had completely devoured it. (Thankfully, they love me enough, and know me well enough, to do just that!)
Thank you to the author and the publisher for allowing me a copy to read and review. All opinions in this review are my own and are completely genuine.
Point of Danger will keep you turning pages to see what happens to talk radio show host, Eve Reilly, who receives a suspicious package on her doorstep as well as threats for her conservative stance! Eve is an excellent female protagonist as she is determined to not be intimidated or to hide. Detective Brent Lange is the leading male character and is determined to find out what is going on but he also wants to keep Eve safe which is a difficult job! This story is very up to date with current events in America! I found it interesting that the book is set in St. Louis. Point of Danger includes threats, slashed tires, interesting neighbors, home remodeling, romance and danger. You won’t want to miss this book by Irene Hannon. I received a complimentary advance e-book through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.
This is book one in the Triple Threat series, what a great place to start. This book is full of suspense, mystery and more. I look forward to reading more in this series.
Eve Reilly is a compassionate, stubborn, honest talk show host. When danger comes to her door she must rely on the handsome detective Brent Lange.
I enjoyed meeting Eve’s sisters and hope to hear more from them. My only negative in this book (and it may only be in the ebook version) was the characters and points of view change without separation or nation of doing that, so at times it took me a little while to figure out who was talking and what was going on. Again the printed version may be different. However, that did not keep me from enjoying this book. I received this book for my honest opinion.
I always enjoy an Irene Hannon book. Her suspense books take me back to St Louis where I lived for twenty years. This one is the start of a new series about three sisters called Triple Threat. Eve Reilly is featured in POINT OF DANGER.
Eve has firm convictions and voices them on her morning talk radio program. I appreciate the way Ms. Hannon has Eve articulate her conservative viewpoints. Very clear and well reasoned out.
The story follows threats to Eve and the attempt to uncover the person behind the harassment. Because of her case, she meets detective Brent Lange and they both realize that attraction is building. But with each having high profile jobs with a risk factor, do they go forward or take a step back. Eve and Brent have deeply held convictions and take their faith seriously.
The fun part of reading this story is trying to figure out who the bad guys are. Ms. Hannon keeps you guessing and the pages turning. The crowd and demonstration scenes were very realistic and scary. You could feel the tension. I liked the dynamics between Eve and her sisters, Cate and Grace, and look forward to reading their stories in this series.
This was a great start to a new series. Keep them coming!

A engaging, action-packed, suspense, with a fantastic plot, and characters that you can cheer for the whole way through.
Conservative talk show personality Eve Reilly has always been cautious, her job making her a target because of her unpopular opinions. But when a ticking box shows up on her doorstep, she knows that it’s more than an innocent prank as the incidents escalate.
Eve is an intelligent and accomplished woman, I admired her willingness to speak out on controversial issues, and her common sense approach to life. Eve is a believer, and I loved her strong relationship with her sisters, as well as her do-it-herself smarts.
Newly promoted detective Brent Lange is intrigued by Eve, and is determined to connect the incidents and find the person behind the threats. He has struggled with relationships in the past, but I loved how supportive his best friend is, and I liked the interaction between him and Eve. He is an honorable man with a strong sense of duty.
Overall, a fantastic read from beginning to end, with strong protagonists, and an engaging plot that kept me on my toes. I loved Eve, she is exactly the kind of heroine that I can’t help but cheer for, I admired her courage and level headed approach to things, as well as how she helps Brent deal with his past and envision a different kind of future than he’d been selling to himself. This was a quick read, because I didn’t want to put it down, another stellar novel from Irene Hannon. Highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is the beginning of a new series, Triple Threat, about three sisters. The middle sister, Eve Reilly, is not in law enforcement, instead, she faces down societal ills through her radio program.
While Eve tries to be fair to both sides, she is unabashedly politically conservative and garners many enemies because of her strong opinions. Hate mail is something she shrugs off. A ticking box on her porch isn’t.
Police detective Brent Lange is the responding detective, launching him into a puzzle he has to solve before someone kills the radio personality he’s finding himself drawn to despite his best efforts.
I’m a fan of Irene Hannon’s writing. And have been looking forward to this new series since I learned it would be about three sisters. I found Point of Danger unusual in that it had such a polarizing character in Eve. If you agree with her politics, it’s very easy to root for her. If you disagree… Eve still seems a likable enough character despite her views. Either way, we can all understand why her strong opinions get her into hot water. Honestly, I think Irene Hannon did a superb job of making Eve’s views Eve’s alone. In other words, the book is not a political tome. It addresses a few political topics, such as abortion, but entirely from Eve’s perspective. In fact, we don’t learn Brent’s political leanings at all. In my opinion, this is a nuance difficult to master and Point of Danger did it well. My one disappointment was not seeing a positive character from the opposing view point, especially one who Eve respected.
If you’re looking for a romantic suspense with a political thread, definitely pick up a copy of Point of Danger. Irene Hannon’s writing is so good, the story will draw you in until you’re trying to figure out the puzzle alongside Brent before the danger costs Eve her life.

For those who enjoy reading about strong women who speak their minds and don’t cower after threatened, Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is a must read.
Eve Reilly’s radio talk show stirs up opinions on both sides of whatever issues she’s discussing, but she makes no apology for her strong stances. When the threats escalate to include more than words, Brent Lange is given the case.
It took me a while to get everyone straight in how they fit in with the story with the multiple points of view in this book. While the story centers on Eve and Brent, Hannon’s inclusion of secondary characters kept me guessing of how they fit in. Were they the culprit or not? And that question was not answered until near the end of the book.
I did like how Eve listened and encourage Brent while never pushing him. And the fans of Hannon’s books will recognize some of the names mentioned but those who haven’t won’t feel lost. Overall, a quick read with some good action, better romance, and an ending that had my heart racing.

Catch the Culprit!
Eve Reilly is an outspoken conservative Christian radio talk show host, who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Getting threats isn’t new to her, but getting a bomb threat by her front door is. That is only the beginning, as more sinister things are sent her way.
Police detective Brent has his hands full trying to catch the one behind it all, and keep her life safe. Eve has a lot of gumption, and continues her outspoken habits—while more threats continue to come her way. The guilty party may be an individual, a hate group or anything in between. Brent is ready to abandon his no dating rule after meeting the mesmerizing Eve. Can she get him to change his mind about relationships?
You may think you know the perpetrator, but like me, you may only be partially right because of surprising turns this tale takes. This page turning thriller, full of events that sound like today’s headlines, will keep you glued to this book. Just like Eve, this author doesn’t back down from the hard things. I recommend this five-star clean book to everyone who likes exciting stories told from a Christian perspective.
Revell Publishing has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, Point of Danger, for the purpose of review. I have not been compensated in any other manner.
Point of Danger kept me up late, in a good way. From the first page, Hannon grabbed my attention and kept it as the stakes kept raising with each plot twist.
Fans of strong female characters will love Eve and her tenacity. Brent is a great male lead who wants to protect Eve but understands she’s strong and independent. I love how Hannon allowed the romance to progress without pushing it. She did a great job of showing how great they are together, making me root for them.
Throughout the novel, Hannon manages to entertain with a gripping suspense while addressing issues Christians face today in our society and in our relationships. I closed the book thinking about many of the things she addressed. To me, that’s always a good sign.
Overall, Point of Danger is a captivating romantic suspense I highly recommend.

This was my first Irene Hannon book, but it won’t be my last! I was hooked into this book from the first page and stayed hooked until the last page! I didn’t want to put it down! Parts of this book are so relevant to what’s happening in the world today. I enjoyed reading about such a strong character. I also enjoyed the fact that while I had thought that I had everything figured out, I was still surprised. I hope that there’s going to be more books like this! I would love to read about Eve’s sisters.

Terrific storyteller Irene Hannon begins her new “Triple Threat Series” with “Point of Danger”–a thrilling inspirational contemporary romantic suspense read. As a successful radio talk-show host who says what she means and stands by her personal beliefs, Eve Reilly is used to stirring up feedback which is not always positive–and sometimes is quite strange. However, a bomb scare at her own front door is terrifying and brings law enforcement to the scene. Detective Brent Lange spent a decade as a street cop, and now he’s working his first case as an investigator. The bomb turns out to be a fake, but the spark of interest between Eve and Brent is quite real. A threatening note included with the “bomb” package, as well as a continuing series of disturbing events, keeps Brent concerned for Eve’s safety. As they work together to find out who is making the threats, the awareness and attraction between them can’t help but grow–but each of them has personal issues to overcome. Eve and Brent are both persons of faith, and it will take all of their faith to see their way to a bright and shining future filled with love and hope. Highly recommended.

I love Irene Hannon’s books whether they be suspense, romantic suspense, or whatever. She writes a well constructed book using characters with “meat”. You will be wishing you were getting to the end faster but then when you get to the end you’ll wish it wasn’t over. Great book to snuggle up in a blanket and just read! Enjoy!

In her latest release, Ms. Hannon begins her next new series with a thrilling story. After reading the book description, I immediately wanted to read this book and it did not disappoint. This book focuses on Eve Reilly, a radio talk show host. Eve begins receiving threats at the beginning of the book. Due to her usual potential to have problems from viewers who differ in opinion, Eve is used to scrutiny. However, she finds herself in a completely different world with what is going on this time. She meets Brent due to these threats as he is one of the detectives on her case. Together they try to discover who is after her. This first book in the series was exciting and suspenseful like all of Ms. Hannon’s other romantic suspense books. I highly recommend this book! You will not be disappointed! I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
