Action-packed from the first page! I couldn’t put it down! I really enjoyed this clean romantic suspense novel! Can’t wait to see what comes in the rest of the series!
Hannon has crafted a riveting masterpiece! I was immediately engaged into the drama. The twists and turns kept me turning the pages. I read this novel in one sitting.
Recommend to readers who enjoy clean, romantic suspense.
I purchased a copy. I’ve expressed my honest opinion.
Point of Danger by Irene Hannon starts off with a really tense situation that immediately grabbed my interest and had me second guessing everyone in the story! When I read a romantic suspense, I tend to accuse everyone! This story was no different. Strangely, I actually had the bad guy pegged as soon as they appeared on the page.
While I enjoyed this story and liked Eve and Brent, I felt like there were a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up. Maybe they will be in the next stories of this series, but it doesn’t seem like they would be because the loose ends related directly to Eve and her story. That being said, this story kept my interest the whole time and was an entertaining read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Irene Hannon hit it out of the ballpark with this fun but action-packed tale of a controversial radio show host whose life is in danger.
The handsome detective who winds up working the case becomes her protector as they sort out who is really behind all the threats. The ending is one of unexpected twists.
Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is book 1 in the Triple Threat Series. I thought it was an interesting read and a great start to a new series. I honestly am not sure why so many thought the book completely political. I think read independently from current affairs, it is a solid work of suspense and a great read altogether. I look forward to more books in this series. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
Point Of Danger by Irene Hannon is a marvellous Christian crime suspense that had me glued and intrigued from the start. It is the first book in the Triple Threat series which promises to be fantastic.
The characters were wonderfully and realistically drawn. I loved the leading lady with her big heart and gutsy nature. She looked out for others, putting them first. She had a loving, caring relationship with her two sisters. She also looked out for the underdog.
Throughout the novel we ‘hear’ snippets of text from two of the perpetrators. It is up to the reader to see if they can solve the case before the police.
The plotline was intricate and well thought out. I followed all the red herrings that were dropped along the way – again!
Sometimes people have been hurt by others in their past. They believe (wrongly) that to prevent hurt, they must brick up their heart. This prevents them from living loved in the way that God intended. Sooner or later they must take a risk and demolish the self-built walls and let love in.
There is the theme of trust. Who is it that intends harm? Where should we place our trust?
At times there is nowhere else to go but to go to God in prayer. He knows the end from the beginning. We can always trust Him.
I loved Point Of Danger. It was an exciting, well executed read. Irene Hannon is a new author to me but I want more, more, more.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
I can always count on this author to write an action packed story that gives you a sense of being part of the team. Her descriptions are on point and the characters jump off the pages with intensity.
I was hooked the minute someone finds a package on their doorstep ticking. I’m pretty sure I would scream, slam the door and dial 911 as I scurried into a closet . Eve knows this is not something that will go away. Someone wants her dead.
Being a conservative radio personality has its perks but it also brings out people who disagree with her views. The hate mail she gets is suspicious as whoever it is starts to get more aggressive. I think it’s time to get the police involved and catch this person.
Brent is called in to investigate and soon realizes the escalation is getting out of hand. Can he save Eve before she is silenced forever? The action never stops as the two try to stay one step ahead of danger. There is a bit of romance that doesn’t overshadow the story. Some may wonder if the views presented in the story by Eve were more personal but I think the story is just a look at what might happen when someone disagrees with political views. Overall a good story with a great ending.
I received a copy of this book from Librarything Early Readers Program. The review is my own opinion.
Hate mail is nothing new for conservative radio talk show host, Eve Reilly, but hate mail that ticks? That is both new and terrifying. When she calls in the police, newly-promoted Detective Brent Lange answers the call. Their attraction is both immediate and mutual, but hunting down the person who is terrorizing Eve takes precedence over anything personal.
As the threats escalate, can Eve stand strong and continue her talk show even though everything points to her show as the source of her antagonist’s anger?
I love Irene Hannon’s books! She writes both sweet, inspirational romance and gripping, teeth-clenching suspense (with a side note of romance) and she does both equally well. Point of Danger is book one in her new Triple Threat series, and it starts off with a (potential) bang. From the first page, the suspense builds to an ending I know I didn’t see coming. I look forward to book 2, and getting to know another of Eve’s sisters.
Suspense readers will love trying to figure out the puzzle of “who hates Eve enough to kill her” in Point of Danger. Romance readers will enjoy watching Eve and Brent fall for one another. I definitely recommend this book!
Eve Reilly is a woman who speaks her mind and a lot of people don’t like that. Especially since her radio show is very popular. Unfortunately, fiction sometimes mirrors real life and Eve’s life is in now in danger because someone doesn’t like her beliefs.
Police detective Brent Lange gets assigned to her job and is trying very hard to get to the bottom of these threats against Eve. What I liked about this story, and that may very well be why it is called the Triple Threat series, is there are about three scenarios this could go. Each underlying threat seems valid and so I was kept guessing pretty much till the end.
We get a great panoramic view from some of the other characters points of views. Even the suspects. Of which some seemed obvious while others were more hidden. This put me in mind of the movie Bodyguard for some reason and it was a pretty intense read. Especially when like Eve, the reader was kept guessing and looking around every fictional corner as well.
I received a copy of this novel from Revell through Interviews and Reviews. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book. Eve Reilly is a conservative radio host who is being threatened and when Detective Brent Lange gets involved the sparks fly between the two. The book is a little heavy on the romance but it is also filled with suspense and will keep you guessing throughout. I enjoyed getting to know the three Reilly sisters in this first book of the series and I look forward to reading Cate and Grace’s stories in the next two books. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Romantic Suspense.
Time is ticking before a killer finishes the job…
Point Of Danger is the novel I was waiting for and didn’t even know it. It’s the book I never expected to find. And the funny thing is that I could easily have missed it. I didn’t even really read the cover blurb, instead I chose it because I’ve read a few of Irene Hannon’s previous romantic suspense novels and enjoyed them. But this, this one is by far my favorite of hers and I know Point Of Danger will be making my list of top favorite books read this year.
Irene Hannon started off this book and the Triple Threat series with a real bang. And I mean that literally, the first page features the heroine finding a ticking package on her front porch! And from there on it’s one wild ride of danger and betrayal. From the dramatic cover with its pearly finish to the very last punctuation mark this book is a fun and intense read. There are a lot of twists, turns, and some shocking surprises leading up to the final showdown with a killer.
As one of the millions of Americans with conservative political leanings it is so nice to finally be represented in fiction. And this time not as a nut-job or a sweet but totally out of touch person. Nope, our heroine is a conservative radio show host who is vibrant, interesting, and a strong woman of faith. And trust me, the hero, flawed and hurt though he is, is the perfect match for her.
I highly recommend Point Of Danger for any fan of of Irene Hannon and romantic suspense. It kept me awake turning the pages to find out what would happen next. And I absolutely can not wait for the next Triple Threat novel…
(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
I have been reading author Irene Hannon’s book for years and LOVE them! This was a captivating, clean, romantic suspense that I absolutely enjoyed reading! I can’t say enough good things about it!
The cover is beautiful, the characters are down to earth and engaging, the story line was unpredictable, and the suspense was steady and interesting was beginning to end. I would have read it in one night if I had enough time.
As a side note, I loved Eve’s two sisters and I’m hoping they will each get their own story as well.
Can’t wait to read more from this NEW “Triple Threat” series!
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
Eve Reilly has strong convictions and she doesn’t care to share them with others so her job as a morning talk show host seems perfect until….someone decides that her opinions should be silenced. Point of Danger takes readers on an exciting ride filled with twists and turns but it also focuses on the relationship that develops between Eve and her police detective protector Brent Longe. Their chemistry is immediate and it continues to grow but are they willing to take a chance when they both are involved in high-risks jobs?
Author Irene Hannon knows how to draw readers in, allow them to form their conclusions, and then completely blow their theories out of the water! This is an enjoyable first book in her new Triple Threat series and I look forward to reading what is ahead for Eve’s sister Cate.
I recommend Point of Danger to all who enjoy romantic suspense and I give it 4 stars!
This book was provided courtesy of Baker Publishing Group/Revell through Interviews & Reviews. These are my own thoughts.
Riveting novel! Eve is a radio show host who is not afraid to call a spade a spade. Yet there are people who would like to silence her – for many reasons. Figuring out who was so interesting, especially as there were lots of choices! And ultimately, I was clueless who the bad guy was!
From a bomb scare to threatening notes and more, there is a race to find out who is behind the malice. Yet these continued threats bring Eve and Brent (the detective assigned to the case) together. I really enjoyed watching them learn to work things out. This book is the first in the Triple Threat series and I look forward to reading more in this series as I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense novels. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I am freely writing a review – all thoughts and opinions are my own.
When it comes to a mystery, I love one that has several twists and turns. This one fit that bill quite well. The layers of who was doing what against Eve kept me interested in the story.
I found the end especially intriguing as it flashed between different POVs to tell the climax. Definitely intensified the suspense there.
The characters were openly Christian and talked about church, prayed, and had a verse or two they relied on. As for a specific spiritual theme or lesson, I could not really detect it.
The romance is definitely strong in this book. While the main characters demonstrate a conservative relationship, there are some side stories about a woman trying to seduce a man, a man cheating on his wife, and some comments that allude to sexual attraction and intimacy. I did find Eve and Brent’s story sweet—especially Brent’s difficulty moving on from his past—but would not recommend this story to teens.
Reading a story where the main character addressed several conservative issues was refreshing.
The sisters’ relationship was very sweet and makes me want to read their stories as well.
*I received this book from Revell and happily provided my honest review*
Wow! I honestly don’t even know where to begin!! There is so much to this book that writing a review without giving anything away seems rather impossible. Although many people have recommended Irene Hannon to me in the past (because of my love for suspense novels) I have never gotten any of her books although many of them are on my TBR list. So when I was asked to review the first book in her new series I jumped at the chance!
In this book we meet SO many characters but the main ones are Eve Reilly and Brent Lange. Eve is a conservative radio talk show host. She is outspoken and has no qualms whatsoever to tell it like it is. Brent is attracted to Eve but keeps his guard up as he has some issues from a past relationship that he is trying to come to terms to. He is definitely not a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve.
The relationship between them moved in a manner that I would find very realistic. This story has SO many twists and turns! Just when I think I have it all figured out something else came up. It was awesome!! Definitely kept you reading. When the mastermind was revealed I was a little shocked. I must admit by that point I had my suspicions but still was kind of shocking the way it all played out.
Overall this was a great story!! It also is very relevant with todays current events in our society. It did leave me wondering about some characters so I am hoping that we will get to see some of their stories in the second book, which will be about Eve’s sister Cate, releasing next year!
I received this book from Revell. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion
The cover of “Point of Danger” was different than most suspense I’ve seen.
I have fixed feelings about this book. Getting the point of view of SO MANY characters was okay, but the fact that we got in the head of the bad guys was slightly disturbing … Mostly just one of the bad guys who was a complete and utter jerk to those he felt he was above … And, that was everybody so, yeah, icky.
May I just say I called it?! I knew it was gonna be who it was… I JUST KNEW IT. I didn’t want it to be but I KINDA JUST KNEW!
The romance, I liked, it wasn’t too overpowering from the suspense and they both blended together well…
I am REALLY hoping that Cate gets a book, just because I want to know more and I loved seeing the bits of her we got in “Point of Danger”
I appreciate how Irene Hannon took a suspense that could have been normal and turned it into a different book dealing with real things in a real way that left you with a thirst to know more about the subjects covered. I was somewhat shocked by the subjects covered, totally NOT DISagreeing, just kind of shocked that it was in a suspense, but I liked it. Quite a bit.
As always, I look forward to reading another Irene Hannon novel.
Content: The bad guys are jerks and it shows…? Some kissing. Mentions of a miscarriage.
I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Very apropos for today’s security challenges and tumultuous culture, Irene Hannon’s “Point of Danger” goes beyond classic romantic suspense with a multifaceted plot and a complex array of characters. This is the first of Hannon’s books that I’ve read, and I love starting fresh with the first novel of a new series. I will admit that I was unprepared for what unfolded within these pages, but that is part of the experience and why I almost always prefer going in blind, so to speak. At first, I did have difficulty with the panoply of characters, most of whom entered into the narrative without introduction for reasons that become clear as the story progresses. As someone who has a terrible memory when it comes to names, trying to keep everyone straight did slow down my reading and cause confusion for me during the first half, but I trust that this will not be everyone’s experience. Some of their identities are not divulged until the ending, and I think that Hannon made the correct choice in her portrayals because I certainly did not guess who the perpetrators were ahead of time!
Hannon excels at recognizing and incorporating contentious issues into “Point of Danger” without over-politicizing them. Given that I read this in the days before the 2020 presidential election, that’s saying something. Heroine Eve Reilly, host of her own radio talk show, does seem to me to be a bit over-idealized; although I admire her character, she is written without any true flaws, and that makes her less realistic to me as a reader. The police detective, Brent Lange, on the other hand, not only has demonstrable flaws but also is willing to acknowledge them. The secondary characters are well-drawn, and their motivations authentic. As the plot wrapped up, I found myself completely taken aback by where things went, and I consider that a success on the author’s part. I appreciate Hannon’s positive representation of the police in this story, as well as Eve’s conservative viewpoints, which are clear but still respectfully presented.
At its heart, “Point of Danger” offers readers a glimpse into love found at the intersection of hope and fear. Whether it can or will prevail depends on learning to trust and to not give in to fear. As one of the characters advises, “In the end, though, you have to let people do what they’re called to do and put the rest in God’s hands. Once you manage that, life is much less stressful.”
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Be silent … or be silenced.
Eve Reilly, a call-in radio show host, has a strong conservative stand which accounts for her fabulous numbers in the polls. People love to be able to give their opinions without worrying about repercussions – after all, it’s a radio show, so you can be at least a little anonymous. However, her outspokenness appears to have created an avenue for some to spout hate. But how far are they willing to go?
The author has done a fabulous job of creating more twists than one can possibly figure out, certainly the mark of an incredible story! The threats become more frequent, the possible perpetrator list grows and Detective Brent Lange still has no leads that can be substantiated. Will this culminate in Eve being injured or even killed? If this is book 1 in the Triple Threat series, you certainly don’t want to miss the next one!
I loved how Eve stood strong in her convictions through it all, giving strength to those around her, even though she was the intended victim. As the reader, I have to wonder if I would have the courage to stand up for myself and what I believe in…..
This ARC was received through Revell, Baker Publishing Group and NetGalley. The impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.
In Point of Danger, Hannon has provided us with another book of intrigue and suspense from the very first page. This is somewhat different and has some romance between the main characters. The characters are well described and very believable. Eve standing true to her convictions even though it puts her life in danger. This story is somewhat parallel to today, the turmoil and hatred toward those who will stand up for what they believe is right and not be swayed regardless. Thank you to Hannon and the publisher for this copy. I am honored to leave a review.
