Finnegan MacGillivray, red-haired, freckle-faced social pariah, finds solace in his mother’s garden while she entertains “dates” in his home. When an accident takes the life of a friend, Finnegan buries the evidence amid the purple dead nettle and bougainvillea, and unearths a treasure trove of human remains. Did his house rest atop an ancient burial ground? Or was there a killer tucking him into … into bed at night?
His fascination with bones grows as fast as his obsession with his mother. She rejects his advances, and he escapes to the other side of the country. Years later, he returns to his childhood home, to the secrets and the guilt and the bones — and to fulfill his destiny.

Good story, very twisted. Ending leaves a little to be desired, but overall it’s obvious that a lot of work went into this.
Wow, didn’t see that coming, but at the same time, I was not surprised. Thanks
This book was very intertaining and hard to put down
The first two thirds of the book proved to be a decent thriller. Then it seemed the author lost focus or didn’t know how to end the book. The last third was dry and lack luster.
This was a strange book that didn’t ‘flow’ I like creepy and weird but this was just not it- I was just ‘waiting’ for it to get to the good part, sort of speak and it never came.
It was an afternoon’s diversion but you really didn’t like the characters…
Just my kind of book….always hate for it to be done!!!
Disturbing. Not worth reading.
Good book, decent plot, reminiscent of ‘Bates Motel,’ though Tibba and Finnegan (Finney Mac) aren’t quite as likable as Norma and Norman Bates. Still, a decent book worth reading.
They make killing people sound like its not a big deal….it is a big deal. Not my kind of book.
Quirkey….
I didn’t get past the first chapter. It held no appeal for me.
I didn’t like this book, I’m glad it was free or I’d have been upset that I wasted money in it. It was extremely awful.
I was well into this gem before I stopped thinking of deleting it from my Kindle. Why? Because it was so very different from anything I had read – ever. Not King, Sanford, Cornwell, Grisham, Uris, Crichton, Mofina etc, etc, etc, ever created the strange atmosphere endured while engrossed in Pocketful of Bones. I am 72 and have been reading prolifically since I was 16. My first books being The Egyptian by Mika WalterI written in 1945 then the Haj twosome by Leon Uris. As you can see my interests are not limited in any way and Bones was a great addition to a long, long list of wonderful stories fiction and non-fiction. If you get the urge to put it down……don’t.
Did not finish, too much cussing and weird sex.
This was an interesting read. Ended differently than I thought it would.
Enjoyed the read, kept my attention
Starts off slow. Interesting plot and characters
Well written. Totally leaves you wondering….
Loved this book
