Blackmailing my sexy boss, the one with a panty-melting smirk into being my plus-one for a wedding in my hometown while staying at my parents’ house for the long weekend—what could possibly go wrong?Duncan Willis is sexy and confident, the kind of man every woman notices. You know, the one with the to-die-for body. And then there’s the way his designer suits drape over his broad shoulders and … shoulders and big…well, we’ve all heard the rumors, the ones that say he’s up for any challenge.
Men like him don’t notice women like me, and they don’t date them. Until that one time that I catch him in a compromising position when I’m also in need of a last-minute date for a wedding…and then it’s not a real one, simply a plus-one.
It’s blackmail.

That’s what Kimbra Jones thinks.
Letting her believe she blackmailed me may not be the most conventional way to get on her radar, but I didn’t get this far in business without knowing when to seize an opportunity. If this sexy, little firecracker with perfectly kissable lips thinks she can trick me into attending her cousin’s wedding, I’m going to jump at the chance to be her plus-one.
A sexy, fun stand-alone from New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig. You love her darker side. Now it’s time to meet Leatha, the lighter side of Aleatha.

I am a long time Aleatha Romig fan. I love her dark erotic suspense novels. They never fail to enthrall and entertain me. That being said, this lighter Aleatha side has done the very same thing with added smiles and chuckles. It was a fun read from page one. Duncan and Kimbra separately are dynamic, driven and successful. Together they are off the charts sexy and fun. Their wordplay was imaginative and humorous. Duncan’s evolution from closed off playboy to loving boyfriend was great. Kimbra moved from being embarrassed by her family and the reality of why Duncan was her plus on to begin with to acceptance of Duncan as her botfriend.
I loved the HEA and had happy tears in eyes at the end of the story. Well done Aleatha Romig! I would love to read more of your lighthearted Leatha books
“I’ll call this fantastic ache the spoils of war.”
OK, what rock have I been hiding under that this is my first read from Aleatha Romig!!! She calls this her lighter fare. And light and delicious it is with that lovely tasty spice that we romance readers of any shade find irresistible! “I’ll call this [pleasure] the fantastic spoils of reading about the war [of the hearts]” both Kimbra and Duncan fought as their fates crossed.
Kimbra was the smart, feisty and for the most part very together business professional who did not appreciate her own feminine allure and beauty. Her sexiness would slip out in subtle ways like wearing red “eff-me” pumps with her navy and white buttoned up professional look. What man could resist the “front-stacked” curvy business professional women letting out a hint of “kitten”. Further on in the read as she wrangled Duncan her boss through blackmail (or so she thinks) home for her cousin’s wedding…we find out where this feistiness might have its origins. The genuine “laugh-out-loud” moments provided by Grandma is worth the price of admission.
Duncan our green-eyed beautiful man, so handsome and magnetically attractive, women kneel before him and his gifted anatomy. It was just such a situation on company premises with an employee and on company time that Kimbra caught him.
She felt obligated to inform him that she knew of his misdeed and would keep quiet if…and then she thought better of her blackmail. Duncan seized the opportunity for a shot at this woman who seemed immune to his particular brand of charm and asked her to continue with her nefarious scheme to “blackmail” him to be her “Plus One”.
The heat that came off my kindle as I read the erotic scenes between these two had me shopping on Amazon for new eyebrow products, because my eyebrows were singed off and other items simply melted off! If this the lighter side of Ms. Romig, well then, I need to get busy with her other books.
Her writing style is simply readable with excellent pacing and she captures beautiful pictures with her words. The main characters were relatable but true to the lighter, comedic quality of the story they were not very complicated … although complicated enough to add dramatic tension to the story.
The well written fun, joy and sexy times to be found in this book are well worth the asking price. One click your way to some, not first class, but private plane type entertainment!
