We’re from two different worlds, but in her arms, I’m home.PlumLife didn’t give me a silver spoon. It gave me tetanus. When Adam Wade walks into my club, I know I’m in trouble. His money I can handle. But sweet words, gentle hands? I don’t know what to do with that. Eventually, he’s gonna wise up and walk away. If I let him in, what’ll be left of me when he goes?AdamI’m the adopted son of the man … goes?
Adam
I’m the adopted son of the man who owns the city. I was born into nothing, and I’ve earned my seat at the table. But at night, when I can’t sleep, I’m haunted by the pieces of myself I’ve disowned to make it this far.
I don’t know why Plum caught my eye, but I can’t look away. Maybe it’s her brave face, her fight, her quirks. I’m obsessed, all-in with my eyes screwed shut. Then life throws a harsh light on our choices. I’m forced to face the ugly truth of what she’s done to survive—and what I’ll have to sacrifice to be with her.
Plum’s a fighter, but would she fight for us? And if I give up everything for her, who will I be?
Plum is a 60,000-word “opposites attract” romance set in the Steel Bones Motorcycle Club world. It takes place at the same time as Nickel’s Story. This novel is intended for adult readers (18+) due to strong language, violence, triggers, and explicit intimate scenes.
Standalone. HEA.

Well written, with an interesting story, I couldn’t accept the premise of the story. Most people love it, so I know it just me. I’m really an advocate for women doing the best thing for themselves and being a prostitute doesn’t fit with my ideas. Cate is a wonderful writer and I will continue reading her stories.
4 Pretty Woman Stars
Plum is the fourth book in the Steel Bones Motorcycle Club Series by Cate C. Wells. Its a little different then the previous books in the series. It tells JoBeth’s story, how she got herself out of a bad upbringing and got her life some way the way she wanted it. She is one hell of a fighter and doesn’t need anyone or any man.
Adam was adapted by the most powerful man in the city and has always done what’s expected of him by his stepfather while running his business, but he feels like he is missing something out of life.
So when Adam walks into the strip club where Plum works and tries to get her to go on a date with him she is having none of it. But he is determined to win her over.
“The way I see it, if I got to deal with your face judgin’ me, you’re gonna have to deal with the fact I got no shame. Maybe if I’d had better choices, I’d have chosen differently. But I didn’t, and I ain’t beatin’ myself up ‘cause life gave me lemons.”
From the beginning there is obstacles thrown at both of them and with Adam’s family against them, Plum knows its only a matter of time before Adam walks out of her life. She will never fit that life.
This was another great installment in this series and I really enjoyed it. It had some great secondary characters and a great Pretty Women feel to it. I highly recommend reading Plum.
Wow just wow. Plum aka Jo-Beth is the hood women you think about. She is tough as nails, hot as all get out and untrusting as only a girl with her backstory can be. She slowly lets Adam in but then it goes bad. Family isn’t always the ones you think they are, it can be ones that you wouldn’t even think of to Adam.
This Pretty Woman has a twist of grit and steel
Plum is the fourth book in the A Steel Bones Motorcycle Club series and is the story of Plum and Adam.
Jo-Beth, aka Plum, is a young woman who has not had an easy life so far. She supports herself by being a stripper and sometimes a prostitute. She has a steel backbone and is fierce when she needs to be. Yet she is also tender and loving in her quieter moments and the way she tends to certain things. Her background will literally break your hears.
Adam was born on the same side of the tracks as Plum but he got a break when his mother married wealthy and they moved to the other side. Since then Adam has lived his life with wealth and privilege. He works hard now but there is still something missing in his life like a piece is missing from his soul. Then one night he is out with his stepbrother when he spots Plum and realizes what that missing thing is.
When these two get together was an interesting mix as they both dealt with things and grew as people. Their journey is unexpected at times but it is also poignant and sweet. They also have amazingly hot chemistry. Eventually they will get their HEA but along the way there will be some sacrifices by each as their two worlds merge together to make one that fits them both.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Also I am really wanting a Heavy book please? I really liked him and I loved how much he cared for Jo-Beth whilst she was around the clubhouse.
I really enjoyed reading this and I will still be heading to dive into Charge and Nickel’s books because I do love this world.

I enjoyed this story. There was a lot of grit and steamy scenes. Both Plum/Jo-Beth and Adam came from bad beginnings, but Adam’s life took a better turn. I loved how Plum was strong enough to accept her past and knew it was what made her. Adam had let the privilege surround him and it made him blind. As he realized what Plum meant to him, he showed a stubborn and sweet side, until his indecision almost screwed everything up. I had moments of tears, laughs, and head shaking. This was my first story in the Steel Bones MC world, and it was definitely worth the read.

Hot, gritty and romantic!
In her latest Steel Bones Motorcycle Club romance, Cate C. Wells makes you believe that a dark, self-made millionaire and an MC “sweetbutt” are perfect for each other. I wanna be Plum (okay, not the tough times, but the part where she gets Adam, lol)!
This story is outside my usual reading genre. I liked the history of the characters coming from nothing to trying to make a comfortable life. I love to see that you can be at your lowest and still find love.
This was an interesting take in pretty woman. Plum and Adam are from opposite sides of the track now. Adam was once from the same thread as Plum but his mom married and moved him out. He is now a billionaire who happens upon Plum one night with his step brother and sees something in Plum that he has missed in his self for a long time
Plum recenters Adam. Their romance is unexpected but sweet. A wonderful story with wonderful characters. A standalone novel with a HEA.

Plum is a stripper and part-time prostitute and she’s had a hard life. She makes no apologies for her choices and is a take no prisoners woman. Adam was born with nothing but is a wealthy man thanks to his stepfather’s business. He meets Plum at the club and can’t get her out of his mind. The two are from different worlds but it totally works for them. They will each have to make sacrifices but the end results will be worth it. A good mc read.

Every single book that Cate Wells puts out into the world makes this MC addict so flipping happy. Her characters are so real, so human with their scars and their battered souls. Life isn’t easy and can throw some wicked punches but Jo-Beth knows how to take a hit and keep on keeping on. Adam doesn’t know what hit him the night he meets Jo-Beth but he has a compulsion to be around her. He has money and the brains that took his step-father’s company to the top. But along the way he lost himself and he feels free when he is with her. Their story isn’t easy, there are some bumps along the road. In the end, the struggle makes that ending oh so sweet! Truly phenomenal story, I can’t wait for more from this stellar author!
This is not a “typical” MC romance in that it is about one of the club girls. Plum is a badass stripper that takes care of herself and doesn’t count on the men in her life. Adam is a Wall Street type that ends up in the strip club where he meets Plum. He is originally from her side of town but his mom gets them out. I appreciate that he recognizes the similarities between Plum and his mom’s situation. Plenty of the steam you expect from an MC book and awesome characters. This is a new to me author and I will definitely be going back and reading the rest of the story. It can be read as a stand-alone and it does not spoil the other books in the series.

Plum (JoBeth) and Adam were once on the same playing field but life throws out twists to some and benefits to others which separate us socially and financially. Plum and Adam’s story is just that. What will they risk and give up to be together? What are consequences of those decisions? Can these two opposites, make each other whole? Another amazing story for this series. Each story leaves me anxiously waiting for the next one. Enjoy!

Plum has not by any means had an easy life but she does what she can to survive. Her past is so heartbreaking. She’s a tough chick though and I admired her strength.
Plum and Adam are so good for one another once they push through all the crap and it’s not easy getting there it’s emotional ride to their HEA
I really like this series and I think Ms Wells writing is very engaging I’m definitely a fan!

4 1/2 Stars
A very atypical heroine with Plum’s history of stripping and prostituting herself without a second thought. Her back history was tragic and painful along with the ways she was forced to survive. I liked her strength and resiliency in accepting her fate in life and making the best of it. She never apologizes for who she was.
Adam’s life was the opposite of Plums. Given all of the support and money by his wealthy but controlling stepfather, Adam’s arrogance and entitlement was at its peak.
This MC drama was emotional and filled with Raw Scenes as Adam struggles with his love for Plum and his inability to accept who she is and what she was. I loved the bit of drunken wisdom towards the end of the story where Harper Ruth revealed the similarities between Adam and Plum, that had Adam ashamed of his behavior.
So many heartbreaking moments between this couple who had to fight for their well deserved HEA.
Very well written and full of intense emotional drama.

Steel Bones MC world is expanding its realm with this book. Heroine, Plum was introduced in previous books with different name, but reading others in series is not mandatory. I loved that she was able to get her own story and that the Hero was totally unexpected. The love story between the two combines two different genres of romance for a little twist. Still able to get a sweet HEA, defying odds that they COULD be together, which for me is a plus. I enjoyed this quick bites novella. Good break from usual to tide you over till next full MC story in series comes along. This author is growing with each story.
