If you think what’s happening on stage is entertaining…you should see what’s happening BACKSTAGE!A brand new show is coming to Rehoboth Beach! It’s an original musical, and they have the perfect cast. Plus, there’s pirates. Who doesn’t love pirates?Meric Chandler is a neurotic, introverted accountant by day, but at night he transforms into a magnetic leading man whose voice makes all the girls … man whose voice makes all the girls swoon. Just getting over a divorce, he has sworn off backstage romances. After all, that’s how he met his EX wife.
Lindy Larson prefers to stay behind the scenes, but her girlfriends convince her to audition for a new local theater production. She has a stunning voice but plans to blend in as much as possible, which isn’t easy to do when you’re the awkward plus-size girl with two left feet.
While backstage romances are to be expected, they don’t usually shut down the entire production. But you know what they say: the show must go on!
Plot Twist is part of the Romance in Rehoboth Series. If you like your romcoms sweet, funny and semi-clean, if you enjoy a small town setting, and if you like your heroines curvy, strong, and a little bit snarky, then by the time you’re done reading, you’re gonna want to move to Rehoboth Beach! It’s a real place–in Delaware. I know, right? Delaware has beaches and people actually go there? On purpose? I’m as surprised as you are.

Plot Twist is a sweet romantic comedy. I found myself chuckling throughout the book. It dealt with several hard topics from being overweight to dealing with aging parents. Both main characters were insecure in their own ways. However each thought things of the other that weren’t exactly true. I thought the book sent a good message about giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t feel like all the issues in the book were resolved by the end – either that or they were just left up to the reader to interpret in their own way.
This is a clean romance with no sex. So it is appropriate for readers of all ages. The characters are well written. I enjoyed both the main characters and the side characters. I haven’t read book 2 in the series yet and I had no problem keeping up. I do now own book 2 and plan to go back to read it when I can. I look forward to see who book 4 will be about.
I LOVED this book! Ms. Montgomery writes a charming, witty, beautifully descriptive story about friendship, self acceptance and the “Plot Twists” life can throw. Meric & Lindy are looking for something new in their lives, they’re just not sure what it is they’re looking for. They both find an opportunity to be in a new play written by some local artists. There are new lines, new music and new friends. The supporting characters add a wonderful comeraderie to Meric & Lindy who both need a little push in the right direction. Come enjoy some time in the beachy, touristy town of Rehoboth. I promise you won’t regret it.
