My coven has remained hidden in the shadows for centuries.
We’ve avoided the ‘real world’ altogether; hiding from monsters
and other creatures we share this planet with.
We found protection in the Colville National Forest, nestled in a town protected
by magical barriers.
Our powers are locked by an ancient curse, one meant to protect us from being found.
Until now.
The past has a way of … repeating itself. A new game is beginning. No one is safe.
He’s coming for me.
He’s hunting.
The monster we’ve run from for centuries has found us.
How far will this deadly game go?
How far will I be able to take it, or will he destroy me and everything I care about?
Will the one thing I can’t live without, be the key to destroying and undoing the past?
Or will the past destroy me before I can save the people I love from what I’ve done.
Warning:
About the hero: chances are you may not fall instantly in love with him, that’s because I don’t write men you instantly love; you grow to love them. I don’t believe in instant-love. I write flawed, raw, caveman-like assholes that eventually let you see their redeeming qualities. They are aggressive, assholes, one step above a caveman when we meet them. You may not even like him by the time you finish this book, but I promise you will love him by the end of this series.
About the heroine: There is a chance, that you might think she’s a bit naïve, or weak, but then again who starts out as a badass? Badasses are a product of growth and I am going to put her through hell, and you get to watch her come up swinging every time I knock her on her ass. That’s just how I do things. How she reacts to the set of circumstances she is put through, may not be how you as the reader, or I as the author would react to that same situation. Everyone reacts differently to circumstances and how Magdalena responds to her challenges, is how I see her as a character and as a person.
I don’t write love stories: I write fast paced, knock you on your ass, make you sit on the edge of your seat wondering what happens next books. If you’re looking for cookie cutter romance, this isn’t for you. If you can’t handle the ride, un-buckle your seatbelt and get out of the roller-coaster car now. If not, you’ve been warned. If nothing outlined above bothers you, carry on and enjoy the ride!

Liked it so much I bought the next two in the series…
Slow
My first read by Amelia Hutchins and absolutely loved it. I don’t normally read PNR but I saw it posted on Facebook as a freebie and one-clicked. So glad I did because not only did I enjoy reading it, it was unbelievably HOT! I fell in love with Lena and Lucian and want more. I’m so looking forward to reading the next book.
“Why me? You could have anyone in this place, and yet you want me. Because, Lena, no one has the same light in their eyes. A little bit of sunshine mixed with a whole lot of hurricane.”
Will keep you guessing
Amelia spelled me to love her! The world she created will get you spellbound and hooked to every characters in it.
Lena & Lucian, omg they kept me intrigued throughout the whole thing..
They made me love & hate them too..
Though the progress was slow its still…
Let me start off by saying that Amelia Hutchins dulls every other freaking paranormal writer. I deeply respect the time she takes to make her books amazing. I had no idea this was a series. I think I was just so excited to read this book I totally skimped that fact. Now the actual book, amazing, sexy, creative, you imagination astounds me and I never find a dull moment. I love how her male and female characters are always so strongly written. The women are never nieve and the men you love to hate but always love. That being said how the heck do you come up with these stories!? This is an amazing 5star read please If you love the paranormal romance/erotica genre you will never find another author to compare to AMELIA HUTCHUNS!
Wonderful, captivating and entertaining series.
Books about covens and magical communities are hit or miss. Playing with monsters really hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed my time in the world Amelia Hutchins created. Lucian is a wonderfully flawed leading man and Lena is a strong woman and powerful witch. The story takes the reader through twists and turns, and just when you think you’ve got things figured out, there is another twist! Looking forward to book 2.
Devastated but I loved this book! Definitely not a HEA. This book crushed me. I need more!
I’m at a loss
So many emotions in this one. heartbreak, tragedy, hot sexiness, angry sex ( which is way hot) , drama, moments of laughter and we get to see some Fae back in the mix . Wow must hurry up and read the next one.
This story is so enchanting and captivating! I loved it so much. Amelia Hutchins has done the paranormal superbly. Her detail to the supernatural and celestial is exquisite. Her characters so infused with personality that you can easily connect and live within the story! Lucian is one hot bad boy and has me flustered every time he is around, I genuinely am jealous of Magdalena and her connection to him.
And the narration!! Wowsers people!! Talk about eargasms with Aiden Snow, he read the dictionary and make it sound sexy! And Eva Amar, her voice depicts exactly what I would imagine Magdalena’s to sound.
5* Out of this World Stars!!
I guess I’m gonna say this about every book Amelia will write, but I instantly fell in love with this story and its characters! I love every couple from the fae world, but Synthia/Ryder and now Lena/Lucian are my number one couples! For me no one can compare to them.
This book is dark, twisted, unexpected with so many secrets. It makes you question everything you read. Some events shocked me to the core, some made me cry and feel sorry for the characters.
Most of the book Lucian was such an asshole, especially towards Lena. I really wanted to punch him sometimes. He was aggressive, cold, a real caveman, but also gentle and sweet when Lena needed him the most. He was always there to protect her, even from herself. He changed her and continues to change. I have never met such a diverse character before. And his secrets!!! They almost drove me insane.(And I guess some secrets won’t be revealed until the end lol)
At first Lena seemed such a naive, sweet, broken girl who needs to be protected from everything, but it is such a mistake. Lena doesn’t need a hero to protect her, she can do it herself. She is more powerful than she imagines. Nothing could compare to her inner strength. She grew so much during the book and it was a pleasure to see this journey. She doesn’t need a prince, she needs a man who will treat her equally!
Both, Lucian and Lena, aren’t just a hot couple, they are like a bomb, which explodes every time they are together. They can destroy the world if they want and nothing will stop them. Can’t wait to see what is next for them.
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this story. I was confused, to meh it’s ok, and finally I was like poor Lucian. I’m not going to lie I’m still a little confused, there still so many unanswered questions. I don’t feel like anything was really answered. So I’m looking forward to get to know more about Lucian and his crews also seeing how things are going to work out between him and Magdalena. We already know that they have this scorching hot chemistry. This book does take you on a rollercoaster of emotions but I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s all going to turn out.
No review can ever do this book justice! Amelia has once again written an amazing book that will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more!
This book is such an amazing read. The characters burn hot and cold, they tell a story with their emotions and their wickedness. The past is something that inevitably plays on repeat, and you have to learn from it or you’re doomed to repeat it. Well, in this series, Lucian is done playing. But maybe the games aren’t done with Lucian quite yet? I burned through this book and went straight into book 2
I can not get enough of this writer!!
Loved it.
Loved it. Great story couldn’t put the book down.
Couldn’t put it down!
Awesome series! Love Amelia Hutchins!
