He’s the famous actor. It’s her job to play the perfect wife.Noah Ryder is one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars. For years, he’s played into the bad-boy reputation that sells out box offices. But when a scandalous headline breaks, the tabloids turn on him—and despite Noah’s denials, the studio execs threaten to cut ties. Without an overnight image makeover, his career is over.
For Olivia Shaw, … over.
For Olivia Shaw, one runaway groom was one groom too many. After being ditched at the altar, she’s happily sworn off relationships. But when her grandmother lands on the brink of financial disaster, Olivia will do anything to save her—even play along with an outrageous pretend-marriage scheme.
She’s sure Noah is just a spoiled celebrity. He’s convinced Olivia is the human equivalent of kryptonite to his charm. It’s a good thing love isn’t mentioned in the lengthy terms and conditions of their marriage contract.
But the longer they play their parts, the more the lines between real and pretend begin to blur. Can a marriage that started as play-acting turn into a happily ever after…especially when not everyone is rooting for them?

This is my first time reading something by Ms. Rose and I really enjoyed it. It is a cute, sweet, feel- good romance which was very easy to get into and it captured my interest right from the start. The characters were well-developed and relatable with realistic qualities which made it all the more fun to read. I’ve read a lot of marriage of convenience books, and this one is definitely a great addition to that category. I had a lot of fun reading this book and it definitely left me with a smile on my face when I finished. I will definitely be looking for more of Ms. Rose’s books to read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Thanks to bad press Noah needs an image makeover, Olivia just wants to save her grandmother from financial ruin, so a fake marriage is agreed upon.
Love was not part of the plan and they had preconceived notions about the other, but lines begin to blur.
It was a fun, sweet, and heartwarming read.

I really enjoyed reading this sweet, heartwarming romance. Noah and Olivia were a lot of fun! I love Sally Rose’s books because they always leave me smiling. Sure they were some problems, but of course love wins in the end. (We would not read these books if it did not!) Catherine’s super powers found a solution to both Olivia’s and Noah’s problems. I highly recommend this romance.
Playing the Part by Sally Rose is an adorable, romance read! I actually received an electronic copy of the book as an ARC but my review is completely voluntary and my own opinion. First of all, this book has a gorgeous cover. Even though my life does not resemble the main characters, I found Olivia relatable, definitely someone it would be neat to know in real life. Her grandmother and the grandmother’s friend were also fun characters! The male protagonist Noah also felt down-to-earth despite being a movie star. I was drawn into their love story and hoped for their match to become more than just a matter of convenience but something real that they had worked for. The biggest drawback for me was the repetition of the phrase “pumped his/her eyebrows.” It’s unfamiliar description to me and it popped up quite a few times, enough that it pulled me away from the story line.
Loved this story and the characters were meant to be together. Noah is a Hollywood star who has landed on the pages of the tabloids one too many times and some of the movie roles that he has been seeking are drying up so his agent suggest he marry to show he is settling down and once his career is back on track he can get a divorce. Olivia has been left at the alter and therefore sworn off men but when her grandmother is on the verge of losing her home her good friend suggest marrying Noah in name only where he will pay her to marry him for one year then divorce. This marriage in name only does turn into a real one but not before some twists in the story. Wonderful book that kept me turning the pages.
