This was my first read by Author Monique McDonell, and I will be reading more of hers after this one! The characters were great. The storyline was slightly predictable…but fun and well written. Abby’s sister is marrying her ex and she needs a date for the wedding. Tennis player, Ben, needs help escaping a Russian tennis player. PERFECT! Fake Fiance to the rescue! 😉 Anyway…I enjoyed this book and would recommend it!

He is trying to get them off his back and so he kisses her but it is not enough. So he asks her to pretend to be his fiancee. This would work for her as she needs to go to her sister wedding. Her sister is marrying her ex. The press get wind of it maybe a fake so they follow them. Can it become real? See if it will

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Playing It Safe is Book two in the Courtside Romance series. Ben and Abby’s story is a wonderful read it kept me turning pages.
Abby is on the tennis scene after catching her ex in a compromising position. Ben is in a tight fix. He thought that an innocent fling with a Russian tennis pro would be just that a fling or one off. Boy was he wrong and getting her to see it has proved to be difficult. He and Abby needed an out so when he came up with the fake fiancé angle it would solve both of their problems right? This is filled with so much drama and will have you wanted to wring the necks of a few characters!

I purchased a copy of Playing It Safe: A Courtside Romance (Courtside Romance Series Book 2) by Monique McDonell and this review was given freely.
A sweet rocky sports related romance with a hint of steam and both family and off the court drama. Tennis champion Ben enters into a fake engagement with his Physiotherapist Abby in order to free himself of the unwanted attentions of Russian tennis player Olga in exchange for Abby having support when she goes home for her sister’s wedding to her ex. A fake to real relationship that is questioned by everyone except Abby’s closest friends undergoes many challenges but ultimately ends happy.
