HE’S READY TO PLAY . . . ARE YOU?As the new owner of The Players Club, Brent “Mac” MacMillan is all about dirty sex, wicked sin, and carnal pleasure . . . served up his way. After being burned in the past, he’s always been careful to choose experienced females who enjoy submitting to his dark desires, and are willing to play by his demanding rules without expecting any emotional attachments in … attachments in return.
Hiring beautiful interior designer Stephanie Randall to create fantasy bedrooms within his club is his first mistake. She’s curious, flirtatious, and makes his blood run hotter than it ever has before. Innocent when it comes to all the debauchery this sinful world has to offer, she wants to take a walk on the wild side . . . with him.
His second mistake? Saying yes. And his third? Falling for the one woman he knows he can never have.

Hot and steamy, with a side dish of fear, distrust and angst and just the way I love my books!! I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.
Playing His Way is an emotionally substantive, super hot romance.
Mac is approaching 40 and hasn’t had a serious relationship since his marriage ended, badly, years ago. Stephanie is a sexy, confident designer whom he’s hired to design the private playrooms in the fantasy club he recently bought. The two have been repressing their attraction for the better part of a year, or more accurately, Mac has been repressing his attraction, and Stephanie has decided to use her new project to get Mac to give into their attraction. Will Mac’s legendary control hold or will Stephanie’s flirty, sexy ways finally get under his skin, especially when she shows up in a super tight, barely there dress, at his new club, and his friend seems intent on making his move on her?
I admit that from the blurb I was mostly just expecting something akin to erotica when I started reading Playing His Way. Fortunately, what I got was something entirely more, something with substance and two fully drawn, emotionally layered characters who share smokin’ hot chemistry. I loved seeing Mac finally open up to Stephanie and realize he could truly bare himself to her, even while dominating her, and I loved seeing Stephanie let go of her control and allow Mac to care for her and dominate her in the bedroom. Yes, Playing His Way is set in a sex club, and their scenes are seriously sexy, the kink is not hardcore or over the top. They’re just as emotionally fraught as they are steamy, which makes them all the more appealing. Although I haven’t read any of the preceding books in this series, Playing His Way has made me a big fan of The Players Club world, and I’m looking forward to more.
Visiting with some of the people from The Player’s Club is always a fun experience. The story of Madison and the struggles she has had in her life and the lengths that she will go do to fix them is some that lots of people have to make. Life is hard and meeting someone that can lift you up, treat you like your the most special gift life has to offer would be amazing. Meeting Rick is the best thing that’s happened to her and she has a week with him. It’s a great book to pick up for an enjoyable afternoon of reading.
Very much enjoyed Mac and Stephanie’s story! Gotta love a sexy BDSM read!
Interesting storyline
This was the first of the series that I’ve read, though it is the fourth book, so it did seem somewhat overpopulated, but still a steamy diversion. Recommended for fans of the genre and the series.
Uninspiring in every way.
This book was one of my favorites
Onederful book loved it
Easy read and predictable. But a good read.
Yes it’s what you expect but good to snuggle up with.
The imagination, characters, story line very well crafted
Boy likes girl. Boy loses girl. Boy gets girl again. Boy loses girl again. Instead of girl telling boy where he can stick it, she decides she’s in lurv and she will fight for their lurv. And she does. And boy gets girl. HEA. With some very nice sexytimez thrown in.
Great read
We met Mac in The Marriage Diaries series. He is coworkers with Dean. But has now started a solo venture…owning a BDSM club. Perfect job for a Dom like him.
I read this in 1 sitting. Good character development. Lots of steamy scenes. I liked the Marriage Diaries books better, but this is still a good story.
Well what can I say except that I loved Mac and Stephanie. Mac is all kinds of complicated, dominant and knows what he wants, he doesn’t do vanilla, but when these two met, the spark was instant and the chemistry between them sizzled and had you turning page after page. Stephanie is a strong woman, sexy, sassy and independent, could she delve into the darker side with Mac to get a taste of what he likes in the bedroom or shy away? Mac has rules, but sometimes rules are meant to be broken to be with “the one” . Will he take a leap of faith with Stephanie or will he destroy any chance he has with her? Amazing read, can’t wait for what’s to come.
Brent “Mac” is a successful, wealthy, handsome man with a domineering personality. Stephanie may be young, but she works hard to build her business. She knows very well to express what she thinks and wants, she is independent, she does not depend on anyone to be happy and fulfilled. Attracted to each other for at least a year, Stephanie runs after Mac, and Mac runs from her. How long will these two resist?
Playing His Way was a quick read, the book is not very long, but this fact did not affect the narrative in any way. The story is very well write, has beginning, middle and end, very well developed. The plot revolves around this attraction between the two characters, the fact that Mac wants her, but issues from his past have made him define rules for his “dates” (in quotation marks, because he does not think about relationship, only has sexual encounter) and he thinks that Stephanie does not fit his preferences, since he vowed never to relate to someone who was not from his environment, who did not know his tastes.
Stephanie may be innocent when it comes to the kind of pleasure that Mac is accustomed to, but that does not mean she has no curiosity and desire to experience such a forbidden world. Combining this with the fact that Mac may be the one who teaches her is just a bonus. Hired to decorate the rooms of the new club Mac has acquired, it is up to her to seize the opportunity and show him what they are missing.
The themed rooms are hilarious, my imagination was far away trying to imagine the locations based on the descriptions. The christened of each place was also a good addition to the narrative, the scene of the Mac alpha male handcuffed in the chair was a great way to show the reversal of roles, even the most controlled of the dominant ends vulnerable to the right woman.
The book does not “fooling around” with the reader, the pace is fast, the scenes are happening at a good speed, nothing is left in suspense. You realize that the two are involved, more and more. I liked the characters, I liked the plot, the supporting characters were interesting and the story as a whole worked.
Recommended for those who want a light reading, fun, without many twists and turns with guaranteed happy ending.
Playing His Way (The Players Club Book 4) by Erika Wilde …. What a great ending for a series… It was fun catching up with Den and Jillian and all the other “players” from the The Players Club. I received a copy for an honest review ..but also ordered a copy. Mac (Brent) and Stephanie are perfect for each other…she has been trying for a year to get his attention and he has been fighting his attraction to her. His bad divorce keeps him from forming attachments…
The story of their coming together has all the feels and hated to put it down…I laughed a lot…fanned myself quite a few times and shed some happy tears at HEA…
I am so happy that The Players Club is back! This series is so sexy and so much fun. These sexy alphas are just so yummy. It’s so hard to put these books down!
Brent “Mac” MacMillian is tall, dark and oh, is he handsome! He’s also insanely rich and the proud new owner of The Players Club. He has plans for the magnificent mansion of sensual delights and he wants his partner Dean’s wife, Jillian, to help him to redecorate the and update the club. The one thing he doesn’t want is for Jillian’s boss Stephanie Randell to take on the job. He can’t deny the chemistry between them and he’s been burned before by a woman who couldn’t handle is particular brand of dominance.
Stephanie has other plans for Mac, of course and what she wants, she gets. This man has been denying what they feel for each other for months and this project will finally put them together. She wants Mac’s time and attention. She wants his body. She doesn’t have to have his heart. Or does she?
Things between these two are so steaming hot, so emotional and tangled. Mac and Stephanie certainly get more than what they bargained for. Misunderstandings and miscommunications arise. The past is always lurking. What a great story that these two have! Mac is so very sexy and Stephanie is so feisty and spicy, aware of who she is in her own skin. I loved my time at The Players Club and cannot wait for another story from this series!
A passionate and beautiful romance with a vibrant and kinky edge…
I’ve read Erika Wilde a few times before but it’s always been her collaborations with Carly Phillips. It wasn’t a deliberate thing, I’ve actually had her on my TBR for a very long time…I just never managed to get that far down it. When Playing His Way came up for review it was a no brainer. It was like everything aligned and the perfect opportunity presented itself! Yay! I can’t begin to say how much I loved this book. It was the perfect combination of erotica and romance.
The plot was great. I loved that office/ workplace romance feel but within a more libidinous setting. The story itself was more than enjoyable and captivating. I went through this book like a forrest wildfire. It was just so gripping. The romance itself wasn’t on the mushy and dopey side, it’s punchy and hot and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I liked that as much as Mac wooed Stephanie, she also chased him. I felt that this made it rather realistic and raw, it kept it fresh. In my opinion Ms. Wilde has done something really special with the BDSM element. She doesn’t try and shock you or blindside you with the lifestyle, it feels more like you’re exploring it alongside Stephanie and this gives the plot a very personal touch. Going back to the BDSM, I feel like this book is perfect for a reader who isn’t one hundred percent certain on the topic and has reservations, however they still want to explore their curiosity. I also want to say that this book is nothing like Fifty Shades, so if you are one of the people who didn’t particularly enjoy that story it doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy Playing His Way. I really did find this a really easy to read romance and I honestly could read it again and again.
As for the characters I found them really easy to love and get to know. Brent Macmillan or Mac as he is referred to throughout the story isn’t your typical kinky alpha male. I found him to be a multifaceted, strong and alluring hero. I actually found that his sweet side made him standout from other heroes within the genre. He wasn’t a relentless pusher, but he showed honest concern and care when it came to Stephanie’s and his needs meeting so that he didn’t throw her in the deep-end. Saying that, I actually liked that Stephanie didn’t come across as an overwhelmed prude. I’m not saying that that’s how most heroine’s are within this genre, but…well, there’s always this treading on eggshells rather than just being open and honest with themselves and the hero. I mean there’s only so much bashful one can take. Saying that they both have pasts which have them treading carefully in terms of becoming more. One thing that I really want to say and it is something that made this book a pleasure to read and the characters feel real—there wasn’t a single time in this story where I felt that either the hero or the heroine weren’t emotionally equipped to be in a relationship. They weren’t just adults in writing, but also in action. I loved that they talked to one another, and I loved that they were mature enough to really understand and appreciate what was happening between them.
I can’t say how much I loved Playing His Way, I’m gutted that I haven’t read the other three books in The Players Club series. I will be doing so in the not too distant future. This book is something. It’s passionate and it sizzles, but at the same time it tells a beautiful and sweet love story that has a vibrant and kinky edge. Like I said before it’s the perfect combination of romance and erotica, and I could not get enough!
