Fantasies. We all have them. The night I go home with him, he’s mine.Dark. Dominant. His hot Brit accent makes me wet. He has secrets. A past. A son.But that night, I only know I want him. I’m not a one-night stand kind of girl.I don’t get drunk.Don’t go home with handsome strangers.I’d never creep out next morning,Without exchanging names.Until I do.Until he finds me again,And melts my … names.
Until I do.
Until he finds me again,
And melts my inhibitions.
Until I’m dancing to his dark tune,
And bending my rules.
I shouldn’t—I won’t—fall for him.
But I can’t stop playing his games.
Temptation is an understatement. Addiction is the truth.

Well gotta say this one took me by surprise. It was included as an extra in another book from this author that I purchased & I am so bloody grateful I found it. Wowsa! Talk about deliciously dirty kink. The author showed such a beautiful representation of the dynamics of a true d/s relationship while keeping the story interesting, funny and at times emotional.
I absolutely adored Dan – he is my ULTIMATE kind of BBF. Alpha in the truest sense of the words. He’s not playing at it, he just is it. Louise – well she was like a lot of women, in that she thought she had to hide her desires as they didn’t fit society’s norm. Put the two together and the experienced Dan is only too happy to teach the willing Louise everything she needs to know. The chemistry in this one is off the charts and the d/s scenes are some of the best I have read in a long time…
I hope there’s more in this series because I will definitely be one clicking.
Playing His Games a five-star read that is worth winning every time. Wow is about all I can say about this, I loved it so hard, I loved playing games so when I realised this was an extended version with all the stuff I loved about that read and more of the good stuff fitted in. What I would give to be the lamb in the lion’s den. Filled with scenes full of fun in the hot and heavy sense and also a hauntingly beautiful story that will make you stop and think. One night with no names should have been simple and uncomplicated, but one night would never be enough. (If I ever got Daniel in my bed he would never see the light of day again!!)
If you pick one book up this year, make it this one. I promise it won’t disappoint and I guarantee you will be checking the Trouble by number series to see a glimpse of the lion’s den again, as well as some of the best men written.
Playing His Game – Donna Alam
Having just read Donna Alam’s To Have and Hate, when skimming through her books on Amazon; I saw this and in all honesty bought this book for the cover! Holy Hell, I didn’t even look at the title of the book, the cover had me. After I downloaded it I read the “about this book”, surprise number 2, this was about a D/s relationship. I am always up to read about a good D/s relationship. I was not let down.
Louise and Dan are a perfect(ly) (flawed) couple! Lousie having been told her sexual preferences would pretty much send her to hell and Daniel, a man who owns a sex club and lives next to his X, to give his son easy access to his father.
The sex scenes between Daniel and Louise are red heat hot! The descriptions are ten flames hot and the story of this couple has everything a story needs.
From a cute 4 year old who has been known to barge in to dad’s house, an ex-wife who loves to torture Dan with all sorts of crap, to Dan and Louise realizing this is more than just a sexual relationship, Donna Alam has given the reader a hot and steamy story that conquers all the world has to throw at this couple and brings them together, because that is how it was suppose to be, the right person at the right time with the right kind of love.
Just like releasing an innocent baby bunny into the tiger enclosure at the zoo, nature will take it’s course. I’m sitting here looking at the blinking cursor and realizing I haven’t quite recovered from the book yet. I’m wondering how do I put into words what I just went through and make it more meaningful than “it was good” or “it was hot” without getting all spoiler-y. When Louise gets an opportunity to live out her hidden desires, nothing turns out quite like she was expecting. Daniel is the type of alpha hero I like to read the best – a strong, dominant side balanced by love and compassion. And to see him matched with a heroine as strong as he is, even though she may not realize that strength just yet, makes them a perfect pairing to my mind. I loved watching Louise come to terms with the damage done by her past and owning up to her desires. I also really enjoyed seeing Daniel admit to his feelings; about his past and his present and his hopeful future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
I needed a Donna Alam fix while waiting for her next book and this one did the trick for me! Louise and Dan are hot in this one! Louise, known as the Ice Queen at the office, goes home one night with a handsome stranger but flees from his house in the morning. He soon finds her and their chemistry is on fire and they soon strike up a weekly date weekend. They both have secrets but not much is shared between them in the way of personal information while between the sheets. They each toy with each other, playing games to get one another riled up. If you’ve read One Dirty Scot, then you’re familiar with the Lion’s Den, which makes an appearance in this book too. If you like hot and steamy reads, you definitely need to read this one!
