A sexy, brother’s best friend hockey romance from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan, kicks off a series you’ll devour! “PLAYING FOR KEEPS IS PERFECT!” -Modern Belle “A TOTAL, UTTER MUST READ.” -Book FanaticI’ve never been so stupid in my entire life.My teammate’s incredibly sweet and gorgeous younger sister should have been off-limits, but my hockey stick didn’t get that memo. After our team … off-limits, but my hockey stick didn’t get that memo.
After our team won the championship, and plenty of alcohol, our flirting turned physical and I took her to bed.
Shame sent her running the next morning from our catastrophic mistake. She thinks I don’t remember that night—but every detail is burned into my brain so deeply, I’ll never forget. The feel of her in my arms, the soft whimpers of pleasure I coaxed from her perfect lips…
And now I’ve spent three months trying to get her out of my head. Which has been futile, because I’m starting to understand she’s the only girl I’ll ever want.
I have one shot to show her I can be exactly what she needs, but Elise won’t be easily convinced.
That’s okay, because I’m good under pressure, and this time, I’m playing for keeps.

The whole series is sexy and great
Couldn’t put this one down. Usually jock stories and romances with best friend’s little sister are very predictable. Not so with this book. Loved the chemistry between Justin and Elise. Loved their HEA
Another great story with a predictable ending after a few twists.
Couldn’t wait for next chapter.
A fun hockey, forbidden romance
This was hard to turn off
It was a sweet read, well written, with likable characters.
4.5
Really enjoyed
I bought the series
Loved this book, and this whole series! I can’t get enough
Classic pro-players falling for teammate’s sister. The basis is classic. The handling of the story is quite good. It is stretched out quite a lot. Many pages of describing having sex without moving the story forward. I skim them to make sure I don’t miss a story point. I did quite enjoy the characters. Quite a bit hints to Becca’s story which the epilogue informs is up next.
Lost me along the way

So I was really hoping I’d enjoy this book and be able to get into a new hockey series !
I enjoyed the beginning of the story but by about 60% I just got bored . So I skimmed some of the chapters to see if anything more will happen. And sadly it didn’t .
Justin is a pro hockey player , a player of women too apparently , he lives with his best friend and team mate Owen who he’s known since he was a kid – describes himself as unlovable and in lot good for sex at one point but there’s no depth to this . I didn’t get that feeling about him at all .
Elise is Owens you her sister . They’ve been friends their whole life too. They get drunk one night and give into their lust but then Decide it’s better they don’t acknowledge it … only to kiss and make up 3 months later but on the basis they can hook up casually for a ‘fling’ . Elise is adamant that it will stay casual and she says this time and time again
They f**k a few times keeping it casual and hidden from her brother and the. That’s where is gets blah blah blah
There is no climax to the story really . Even Justin Owens’ “confrontation” was a big anticlimax (it almost would have been better if Owen just caught them and gave his immediate blessing instead .
Anyway I found it anticlimactic and unfortunately don’t think I’ll continue with the series at this point .
One of my favorite authors, and this book did not disappoint! What a fantastic start to a new series. Loved it!

I don’t know why I waited so long to truly get into this series. I think I was scarred of finding another author to devote my love to. But sadly I’m hooked. I don’t even watch hockey. But I love any hockey romance. This group of friends is what makes me adore this series. Don’t get me wrong the hot sex and the love story are totally it, but when I fall in love with all the characters all I want is to dive in to it all. Oh…and by the way Jason Clarke’s sex voice should be trademarked. I don’t know what it is. I love these 2 and I love this series more.
This is the 1st book in the Hot Jocks series
The story is well written, the characters are believable as is the storyline
The chemistry is tangible.

A brother best friend/hockey romance. Elise and Justin have known each other for ever. Justin is Elise’s brother’s best friend and teammate but one night, while celebrating a championship win Justin and Elise take things farther what happens next makes for a sweet and hysterical love story you don’t want to miss. I absolutely love this book and the relationship between Justin and Elise and the audio book is on point with Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood. You meet a whole host of awesome characters in this book as this is the first into the authors Hot Jocks Series.
Ok hockey romance with the best friend’s little sister trope. Elise and Justin were nice enough characters, and their romance was pretty by the book. I think that there were a couple of things that kept this from being a fantastic read, mainly the description of the behavior of the hockey players and the puck bunnies. It got old pretty quick. Overall a quick easy read.
This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.
Kendall Ryan has the best way of writing romances. I fall more and more for her writing with each book I pick up. This one really blew me away!!! I fell so hard for Justin Brady. It didn’t take long before I was a goner lol!! I loved that there was more to him than the stereotypical sports player. He had depth to his character which I more than appreciated.
Justin Brady and Owen Parrish have been friends since at least Junior High. Owen’s little sister Elise had a major crush on Justin growing up. It was really cute seeing their relationship go back so far. It was nice to see how close their bond was. Elise could care less that her brother and Justin were pro hockey players that everyone wanted a piece of. She just knew them as Justin and Owen.
The trio also had an amazing group of friends surrounding them. Some of my favorite moments in the book were when they were all gathered up. Seeing their playful banter and laughter gave me ALL the feels.
The romance in this one was beyond swoon worthy. Trust me, you’ll love it!!! It had steam but it also went deeper than surface level. Watching Justin and Elise grow closer and closer had me swooning!! I was super jealous of Elise, let’s be honest lol!!
Overall, this is such a fun story. We learn about Justin’s upbringing, have some awesome friendships/bonds, and also a great romance. What else do you need in a book??
I got the audiobook and let me tell you I loved it so much, the narrators did a phenomenal job but the story is amazing, I needed something like this after a dark story and certainly did what I was looking for, I loved it so much I will be reading the whole series.
