A best friends to lovers romance that delivers! Noah, the team captain, and Kaylee, the socially awkward bookworm bring the inside jokes, the slow burn, the swoon-worthy romance and that white-hot intensity between the sheets. You don’t want to miss this one!Player.I will never call him that.It doesn’t matter if he’s one of the youngest team captains in college hockey. Or that he’s a legend on … college hockey. Or that he’s a legend on skates.
And, yeah, I know it’s a double entendre. I’m well aware of his reputation for hooking up with half the girls at Westbury. I’ve had a front row seat to the bunny parade.
Still, I won’t call him Player. That’s not who he is to me. That’s never who he’s been to me. He’s Noah Foster. My best friend. The boy I grew up with. The guy who knows me better than anyone.
Well, except there is one secret I’ve never told him. I haven’t exactly been open with him about how I’m a 21-year-old, card carrying member of the V-card-club.
But, when Noah needs me to tutor him for his exam, I get an idea. What if I teach him a little science, and the Player teaches me how to play?

Hockey Romance Eddie Cleveland style~ Can’t say I was disappointed! The complete opposite, in fact. A best friend’s young love, with innocent vibes, humor, all the feels, backed up with intense heat and insane chemistry. The whole shebang melds together into a winning goal romance – I want to read over- and find out more about those, not so secondary characters! * raises eyebrows* Eeek!
Five blazing must-read stars from me!
I loved this book! The main characters, Noah and Kaylee, have been best friends since they were little kids. They are attending the same college in this entertaining tale. Noah is a delicious college hockey player destined for the NHL who never fails to have a bunny around when he wants to scratch an itch. Kaylee is a book worm, smart, awkward, and a virgin. These two are pretty much opposites but always have each other’s back, which is a great trait to have especially for BFF’s. I favored a lot of parts in this story but will not give any spoilers. It was very well written and looks like some secondary characters could get their own book soon (keeping my fingers crossed). I highly recommend this delightful read. I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review.
Another brilliant book from this talented author, it felt real the characters were great and the storyline just sucked you in keeping you engrossed from start to finish. This is a story of friends that come with benefits, a star hockey player Noah and his best friend Kaylee both studying at the same college, a “Player” and a “wallflower” total opposites, but what do you do when you think that friend has betrayed you, and you realise you want that benefit now to be permanent and real?? What a dilemma!! What will become the outcome?? Well read this book and get your answers you will definitely not be disappointed. I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I was happy to provide.
I loved the friendship between the characters. The connection that Noah and Kaylee have had through the years is incredible. They are always there for each other. Whether it’s for tutoring fight an exam or romantic tutoring they have each other’s back, and if that tutoring leads to more. . Why fight what they both want anyway? The brotherhood of the hockey players is great. They are always willing to do whatever it takes to help a fellow teammate out. (This book was received as an ARC) and read again in kindle unlimited.
Author Eddie Cleveland has written a light-hearted, easy to read and fun romance. I enjoyd the interaction between all the characters.
It is highly addictive and I can hardly wait for the next book!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
Well
Book is awesome!! Eddie has out done his again! Was hard to put down everything flows together perfectly.
I enjoy a good sports romance, and this was good. However, it is also a college romance, which is not my normal cup of tea, but I did enjoy Noah and Kaylee. If you are after a fast burning romance, this isn’t it. It’s much more of a slow build considering they have know each other since they were kids. And it takes a bit to even get to the point where they consider changing their friendship. And the way that change comes about is a bit different. At the beginning of the book, Noah definitely lives up to his nickname, “Player”, because at the start, he is absolutely a player on and off the ice. Kaylee was a character I loved from the beginning. She’s super smart, and takes the time to help Noah with one of his classes, but being the nerd in this friendship, she has some insecurities. But loved these two together.
I hope Mr. Cleveland plans to write books for the rest of that hockey team.
Amazing best friends to lovers hockey romance. Wonderfully written story. Loved it.
I loved this book and cannot wait to see if there will be more set in this world. I laughed and cried with these characters as they realized there are all different types of love out there. This best friend romance will make you think what would happen for yourself in this situation.
This beautiful, friends-to-lovers was really wonderful. I found it easy to fall for Noah and Kaylee as they finally decided to acknowledge those long unvoiced feelings and desires and took the chance to move from childhood friends to more. I felt for these two as they dealt with the doubts, fears and pain that comes from putting it all out there, taking that chance and stepping out of your comfort zone. Kaylee cute, quirky, smart and introverted. To start Noah was everything that his nickname and book title implies, a player, but there is more to him than that. He is sexy and cocky but also can be very sweet and surprisingly vulnerable. I think one of my favorite things about this couple was that they both had insecurities. That really appealed to me because it’s real and genuine. Whether you’re the bookworm or the captain of the hockey team, we all have that voice in are head telling us we aren’t good enough or there is just something wrong with us and that is something that I think needs to be shown more and I think this author did an amazing job with that. There is a great cast of secondary characters in this book that I would love to see get their own books because you can really see the raw potential there already. If you enjoy sweet and steamy reads that will give you a big case of “The Feels” you definitely want to grab this one!
Socially awkward, academically oriented “Kansas” Kailee has one BFF. But his nickname of “Player” really does describe his life. And while hanging out with each other is fun, their attraction is a no-go because of the friendship. And then it all changes… When he asks her to help him pass the science class, she has her own request. A fun and entertaining story about college antics, relationship dramas and HEAs.
Another fantastic book by Mr. Cleveland. Noah is a hockey player in college and his best friend since grade school Kaylee is going to the same college. Being a hockey player has it benefits with girls for the entire team who live in the same house. Noah and Kaylee do not want to mess up their friendship with sex so they never tell each other how they feel. It takes Kaylee asking Noah to help her learn about sex. She helped him pass his test and now she wants him to help her. Now you will have to read this wonderful book to see what happens. Enjoy
A great read, page turner, friends to lovers college romance. Noah and Kaylee have been BFFs since they were children. Now they are at the same college where he is the captain of the hockey team and she is a brainiac. He sleeps with all the puck bunnies and she is a virgin. Noah is about to fail his science class and begs Kaylee to tutor him. At first she says no because her schedule is booked. She finally gives in. They secretly have a crush on each other but don’t want to ruin their friendship. Will spending so much time together hurt or help their relationship? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review. One of Eddie’s best!
The storyline was wonderfully written with characters that were so well developed that I felt like I was watching from the sidelines as the relationship evolved between Noah and Kaylee!
Eddie’s writing keeps getting better and better. His books will just suck you right in and doesn’t let go until you get the HEA.
I am a sports nut and anytime I can read a sports romance it just makes my day and this one did not disappoint. Granted there weren’t a whole lot of the actual sports, but, that’s ok, we got the sexy athlete and his nerdy BFF.
Noah and Kaylee have been friends forever and also go to the the same college and share a class together. When Noah faces failing a class, thus losing his scholarship and possibly flunking out of college, he pulls the “friend” card and begs Kaylee to help tutor him. Then Kaylee turns around and pulls the “friend” card with Noah so that she can get her awkward v-card punched, I mean, so that she can get tutored.
This was such a fantastic read. I hope Eddie writes more sports books. This book has all the feels and makes you flips those virtual pages as fast as you can because you just love this couple and hope to see great things for them……..and the sexy times were HOT
Friends to Lovers
Noah and Kaylee, have been friends for a long time, both in the college now.
He is a hockey player and he sleeps with different girl almost every night.
Kaylee is a very good student, who don’t have time to party.
Noah needs Kaylee’s help, if he do not pass midterm exam, he will be out of college.
Kaylee needs Noah help too…
Love this story, Kaylee and Noah are great and Friends to Lovers trope is my favorite one.
I want a Noah of my own. A true friends to lovers book. Being a book nerd I empathize with Kaylee and her wondering about life. It is a great quick read.
Excellent read. Loved Noah and Kaylee. Lots of chemistry and growth on both their parts.
And while I enjoyed the read and will suffer a book hangover now, the whole “will he or won’t he fail” aspect seemed abrupt. I know it was there to get the whole story going, but I am not sure if I wanted more to it or if I just expected more for whatever reason (I’m going with the latter though). Either way, I will never look at Fig Newtons the same way again!
I loved this sweet, sexy and romantic best friends/college sports romance!
Noah and Kaylee have been best friends forever and when hockey career is in jeopardy Kaylee helps him study. Spending so much time together old feelings resurface and Kaylee asks Noah to be her first. Will their relationship change? Eddie did an amazing job with this book! I loved it! I think this series is going to be my favorite so far! I can’t wait for the next College Hockey romance!
