A best friends to lovers romance that delivers! Noah, the team captain, and Kaylee, the socially awkward bookworm bring the inside jokes, the slow burn, the swoon-worthy romance and that white-hot intensity between the sheets. You don’t want to miss this one!Player.I will never call him that.It doesn’t matter if he’s one of the youngest team captains in college hockey. Or that he’s a legend on … college hockey. Or that he’s a legend on skates.
And, yeah, I know it’s a double entendre. I’m well aware of his reputation for hooking up with half the girls at Westbury. I’ve had a front row seat to the bunny parade.
Still, I won’t call him Player. That’s not who he is to me. That’s never who he’s been to me. He’s Noah Foster. My best friend. The boy I grew up with. The guy who knows me better than anyone.
Well, except there is one secret I’ve never told him. I haven’t exactly been open with him about how I’m a 21-year-old, card carrying member of the V-card-club.
But, when Noah needs me to tutor him for his exam, I get an idea. What if I teach him a little science, and the Player teaches me how to play?

Opposites do attract and they are best friends. Noah is hot, team hockey captain, a different woman every night. Kaylee is shy, doesn’t have a lot of friends, never goes out & studies a lot. She wants to learn about sex from Noah (who better than the guy that gets around & is your best friend). This is a disaster waiting to happen. Lots of comedy, heartache & tears and laughter. You will become so engrossed in the characters, you will think that it is your life they are living. Don’t miss another great one from Eddie.
Noah is the college star hockey player. Kaylee is the shy and awkward. Noah is the opposite of Kaylee, popular and outgoing. When a teacher jeopardizes Noah’s Academic career, he enlist his childhood friend, Kaylee to help him. As they continue to spend time together, Kaylee wonders if maybe Noah would be able to help her out as well.
An amazing tale of 2 childhood friends over the years. Eddie does a wonderful job of describing the characters emotions. You feel as if they are a part of your life. Loved every minute of the story.
Noah and Kaylee’s story is the sweetest!!! Their relationship and romance is beautiful. I cannot say enough about this book. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so just grab this book it is worth more than 5’s. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
A best friends to lovers story is well written and I was not putting it down until I finished reading. Noah Foster and Kaylee’s story of two people that realize they just might be right for each other. I enjoyed reading this young love story. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Noah and Hayley what am amazing friendship! I enjoyed the way Hayley came into herself and her confidence grew over time. Also the ability for her to trust Noah, to ask for what she wanted and the value of the friendship. Of course it wasn’t hard to tell what was going to happen to the friendship and evolution of their feelings for each other would be inevitable but Eddie’s writing and story creation handles this with a difference that had me as the reader admiring how this was all handled. Hopefully I’ve not given the story away, in saying all this, but it’s truly an old story told with a difference. I am very impressed as I was expecting something in the stream that this story would be rehashed in similar fashion. I was pleased to discover it wasn’t. This story was steamy, romantic, dramatic and heart felt. Well done!
This was an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Noah has a reputation for being a player both on the ice and off the ice. When his grades start to jeopardize his ability to play hockey he needs help and who better than his best friend Kaylee.
Kaylee couldn’t be more different from Noah as she is more comfortable with books rather than people. She agrees to help him, but she wants something in return and their relationship will never be the same.
Humor, heat and heart all combine into a story that will keep you captivated until the last page.
This was a great & easy going friends to lovers storyline. Didn’t wanna put it down but there were a couple times where the story was getting a bit too detailed that I skimmed the details that were unnecessarily detracting from the plot. Otherwise, one of the author’s best stories!
Eddie creates believable characters again. The banter between the main characters Kaylee and Noah is terrific. With romance books, the sex scenes can take over the book but in this book they are incidental to the main story. The buildup is great to these scenes though. I have always loved Eddie’s writing style and he continues to grow as a writer. When he sets a scene, it is well written and puts you in the picture. If you haven’t had a chance yet, he has created a “video” for marketing this books and I thought it was brilliant. 5 stars all the way!
Well done Eddie! I loved this best friends to lovers romance. Noah and Kaylee have been best friends forever and are now at the same college. Noah is the all star super hot hockey player who has puck bunnies lined up. They know the score, it’s a one time no strings hookup. Hockey is his whole life. Kaylee is the nerdy bookworm who needs her tutoring job to supplement her scholarship. She has not time for parties, or guys. She spends all her time working or studying. Noah finds out, after an unfortunate mishap with his professors daughter, that he must pass his bio test or he fails the class…which will keep him off the ice. He turns to Kaylee for help, not realizing the crush she has had on him for years. What starts out as study sessions turns into way more than they bargained for, but they find they can’t stay away form each other. Great story line, awesome supporting characters, I just loved this!
I really enjoyed this best friends to lovers book. Kaylee is the smart sweet girl who has had a thing for Noah for a long time. She wants to give up her v card to him. Noah is the hot hockey player who really needs to call in a friend favor. These two have tons of chemistry and so much love for each other but they had many ups and downs to get through. I loved this sweet book. I don’t usually read a lot of college romance books but this was worth it it was such a great read I had a hard time putting it down. Eddie always brings in the emotions and the hot sexy scenes. A fantastic read!
More than Hockey to be Found Here!
Noah, commonly known as Player, is a hockey star. Team Captain on a full scholarship. When suddenly, a teacher does not give him a “free pass” he must pass a mid-term or it’s all over. His best friend is Kaylee, they grew up together and she is very academically inclined. BFF to the rescue.
When Noah starts spending more time with Kaylee, he no longer has time for all the late evenings and the bunnies that follow the team. When Kaylee uses her BFF to ask for a favor in return things become scorching!!
Takes me back to college where classes, schedules and relationships are everything. An entertaining read that might just have you on the edge of your seat.
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
I LOVE Eddie Cleveland books! And this one did not disappoint. I loved how Kaylee was so awkward that she asked her best friend to teach her about, um, well…growing up. I mean, I would be so embarrassed to ask him that! But it was hilarious! The little insecurities Kaylee has causes her to freak out in some spectacular ways, and makes your heart break for her! I’m actually surprised “Player” gave her a second chance. Soooooo good!
And honestly, I’m always shocked by how well Eddie, a male author, can get in the head of his heroine. He really brings the charachters to life! I hope we get to read about the other hockey player soon. *fingers crossed*
Also, I want to know. Is “poutine” really a Canadian dish? I’m kinda dying to try it now.
I loved this book and am voluntarily leaving this review of an advanced readers copy.
No spoilers of any kind included.
Player I thought it was great and that’s all I’m going to say about this book.
If I say anymore I’ll be giving away spoilers and I really don’t like doing that because I don’t like ruining the story for other people.
But anyway it’s a yes I do recommend this book to anyone wanting a great story to climb into.
Wow did I love Noah and Kaylees story! Noah was your typical jock with the player status bunnies all over the place the looks the charm and the bestie that knows him like no one else does. Kaylee is your typical book nerd loyal best friend who just accepts Noah for all he is. I loved how they both secretly liked each other but neither would jump on it at first. I think together they were awesome! Loved the drama in the book! All of their hockey friends were funny as can be. Etta was great I hope she gets her own story! It was well written and had such a fun storyline I would defiantly recommend this book!!!!
Absolutely loved this book
Loved Kaylee and Noah’s story.
Haven’t read a YA book for a while but thoroughly enjoyed this storyline.
Loved how the team stick together no matter what
Loved the fact that Kaylee and Noah had been childhood friends and found their HEA .
Beautiful ending to a beautiful story.
Noah and Kaylee was always best friends but there is a chemistry that is there to be more than friends will they pursue it you will have to read to find out …. I will say Kaylee has a secret she is keeping from him….. I cant wait to read more about the other characters in this story in their books…… I definitely recommend this……
I really enjoyed this one. My favorite trope is friends to lovers so this one is right up my alley. I really liked the friendship of Noah and Kaylee. They have such an easy way about them and they can just be themselves with one another. If they take their friendship to the next level will it change everything? I loved Kaylee. She’s super smart and is socially awkward which I can relate to. Noah does a little growing up in this one because the path he is on could hurt his NHL chances. With the help of his best friend he may change it all around. I also got invested Noah’s teammates as I read this one. I hope there are more hockey stories to be told! This is one book I was easily lost in.
I absolutely loved this book. Eddie did such a fantastic job. The storyline was great and I loved all the characters. The secondary characters didn’t take anything away from the story and I hope they get their own stories. Kaylee and Noah “Player”, have been best friends since forever. They have always got each other’s backs and would do anything for the other. When Noah needs help passing his midterms, he asks Kaylee for help. Kaylee is the shy awkward girl that has had a crush on her best friend at different times in their lives. Noah is the star hockey player who all the girls want and that he gets. After helping Noah, Kaylee asks Noah for help and at first he thinks her request is because she is drunk, but the next day she asks him stone cold sober. These two close the line of friendship, will they take it even further than friends with benefits? These two have such a strong connection and they have explosive chemistry. This has drama, misunderstandings , and lust/ love.
What a way to start a series!
Noah and Kaylee have been best friends forever, always friends, she’s watch him go through hockey bunnies left and right never crossing that the line of friendship until a little drunken courage lets her true wants be known. Noah has never acted on his feeling, why ruin a good friendship with sex? Can they survive after doing the deed? Great characters, fun storylines and sexy hot hockey guys, what more could you ask for?
Can’t wait for the next book!
I love reading this story! I did not put it down once I started. There were so many twists and turns and I loved the reading about Noah and Kaylee. Their relationship as friends was great and I really enjoyed the way it developed over the book. Their story was steamy but that did not overshadow the story as a whole. I would definitely recommend this book. I read it through kindle unlimited.
