A best friends to lovers romance that delivers! Noah, the team captain, and Kaylee, the socially awkward bookworm bring the inside jokes, the slow burn, the swoon-worthy romance and that white-hot intensity between the sheets. You don’t want to miss this one!Player.I will never call him that.It doesn’t matter if he’s one of the youngest team captains in college hockey. Or that he’s a legend on … college hockey. Or that he’s a legend on skates.
And, yeah, I know it’s a double entendre. I’m well aware of his reputation for hooking up with half the girls at Westbury. I’ve had a front row seat to the bunny parade.
Still, I won’t call him Player. That’s not who he is to me. That’s never who he’s been to me. He’s Noah Foster. My best friend. The boy I grew up with. The guy who knows me better than anyone.
Well, except there is one secret I’ve never told him. I haven’t exactly been open with him about how I’m a 21-year-old, card carrying member of the V-card-club.
But, when Noah needs me to tutor him for his exam, I get an idea. What if I teach him a little science, and the Player teaches me how to play?

Can a womanizing hockey player really be interested in a bookworm who has no social skills?
Noah and Kaylee are best friends, but can they take a chance on becoming more? Will Kaylee’s secret be a problem? Will Noah’s bunny experience be an aid or a hindrance?
Eddie Cleveland, known for his military, firefighter and MFM books, has shown his readers another side of him! Well done!
I don’t know how Eddie does it, but he outdid himself with this book. I love how he brings the protagonists to life and you feel like you know them as well as your friends. Noah and Kaylee have been best friends for years and their feelings towards each other are changing. Noah the player and Kaylee the virgin – can that work? I couldn’t put the book down and read it one afternoon. I can’t wait to read from the others and stay up to date with Noah and Kaylee.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I don’t generally read college/new adult romances but I decided to give this one a try. The highlight is definitely the humor in the banter between Kaylee and Noah, and the humor in each of their own thoughts as well. Noah seemed to be trapped between a broke college student and one of the ever-popular billionaires who just happens to be in college. I couldn’t figure out whether he had money or not. Kaylee is me, both now and when I was her age, at least as far as awkwardnesses and insecurities go. All in all, I very much enjoyed this read and would recommend you pick up a copy.
Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it, but it was a straightforward romance with a simple conflict that could have been resolved. Characters are college aged and kind of immature especially with the MFL being dramatic at times. I don’t really have a burning desire to read the next book in the series. It’s written well, just a bit flat in the conflict department as well as character development.
Wow, just WOW!! Noah and Kaylee’s story was AMAZING! This best friends to lovers story was hot, steamy and super sexy! I could not put it down and had the “best” book hangover ever! Falling in love with your best friend has never looked so good! Check out the first book in this awesome new series, you will NOT be disappointed!
I loved this book! I cheered Noah that he would succeed and Kaylee would come out of her shell and along the way they found their HEA. Looking forward to meeting more of their friends. Eddie, I really loved the tattoos!
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary & honest review.
In this book we meet Kaylee & Noah. These two have been friends since they were little they think they know everything about the other. That is until one night Kaylee pulls the best friend card and asks for something they should both know will change everything. The more time the two spend together the more things change for them. Will these changes lead to a HEA or will it lead to the end of a friendship that is to rare to find anywhere else?
This is an amazing story about love, friendship and what your willing to fight for. There are many ups and downs in this story I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will send you on an emotional roller-coaster you won’t ever want to get off of. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Such a wonderful read full of wonderful character interaction, plenty of laughs and incredible hotness that will keep you turning the pages. Eddie Cleveland has a gifted in my opinion with the way he can create a whole environment and the characters that fill it with so much emotion on all scales. Kaylee and Noah are perfect together and I enjoyed reading how they finally realized that a great friendship can be so much more. Can not wait for the next book.
3.5 stars
It’s been a while since I’ve read any of this authors books. When I saw he had written about ice hockey, I knew I needed to get a copy and start reading. I enjoyed the storyline, however there was nothing to make this book stand out amongst the many sports books out there. It had a predictable outcome, with a HEA and unfortunately there were a few errors that got through the editing process. One which was the use Isla, which was the wrong name and I found it disappointing. The hockey team, Kaylee and her friend Etta were a fun bunch of friends and very easy to like.
An enjoyable young adult read. I liked the main and secondary characters. Some great camaraderie with a very sweet and sexy happy for now.
When you have the reputation of a player, it is really hard for people to let it go. Noah and Kaylee are childhood best friends. Now in college, they both need something from the other. Will it backfire for both of them? Or will everything work out in the end. I enjoyed this story and the colourful characters that came with it. Highly recommended!!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review,
Noah and Kaylee’s story was wonderful. I am not often a fan of “younger” stories but this was so well written and the characters were so believable that you get past the ages of the leads.
Noah and Kaylee have been friends since grammar school and now are in college together. She is the A student on an academic scholarship and he is the Jock on a hockey scholarship, team captain.
She agrees to tutor him so he is not cut from the team and their relationship moves to the next level of friendship.
Thoroughly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it.
WORTH 7 STARS AT LEAST!
Wow! What a delicious story PLAYER is. My review can not do it justice in any way. Everything from the storyline to the characters provides the reader with hours of reading enjoyment that is not always found in today’s world.
This book has great characters that I easily saw playing like a movie in my head. Fun, sad, loving, mad, angst to humor, sexy, well, just about every emotion you can think of, runs through this storyline. The characters are so well written and thought out that their interactions flow smoothly throughout the entire story.
I can’t say enough good things about the book PLAYER. It’s a hit!
Friends to Lovers is one of my favorite type of stories to read. I loved reading and following Noah and Kaylee’s story, as they go from best friends to two people in love. Eddie Cleveland knows how to make his characters jump off the page as if they were real and that makes his books so enjoyable. I look forward to reading what he comes up with next.
Loved this awesome friends to lovers read from Eddie about star hockey player Noah and his best friend Kaylee , loved the one liners and omg some of the individual chapter titles had me laughing , I cant wait for the next book from this series to come out ,
I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review + purchased for my collection
Amazing friends to lovers story from Eddie Cleveland
Loved, loved Noah and Kaylee’s friends to lovers story. I’m a big fan of Eddie’s writing and once again he conveyed all the emotions. I felt the doubt, the pain, the fear, the love, the comfort in each other. Friends to Lovers stories make my heart melt. I can’t wait for more stories about this group. Highly recommend.
Melted my Heart: WOW a great read that will not disappoint. Best friends to lovers romance with a fantastic story line. Noah & Kaylee have had an amazing friendship since they were young and now since they are in college together they have grown fonder of each other and their chemistry is off the charts hot. Will they be able to follow their hearts or are they afraid it will be awkward and ruin their friendship. Time will tell with these two, will Kaylee be able to trust him since he is known as a Player? You will just have to pick this up for yourself and find out.
.
This was the perfect friends to lovers story to read. Eddie your books are always so good I love them all. Noah and Kaylee got their happily ever after against all odds.
I absolutely love a good friends to lovers book and this one was no exception. Noah is definitely a player but there is a whole other side to him when it comes to his best friend Kaylee. He is sweet, funny, and protective. Kaylee is an awkward bookworm that turns shy and tongue tied around guys, other than Noah. Their history helps create a fantastic chemistry between them. Their story is full of emotion, some drama, humor, plenty of steam and fabulous characters. I’m so anxious for the next boom in this wonderful new series.
Eddie did it again, another amazing read. Noah is the captain of the hockey team. He is failing a Class in College that he needs to pass or he will be kicked out of school and off the team. He asks his best friend Kaylee if she will tutor him. She is swamped but does it anyway. Then she needs help with a problem. So she asks Noah to help her out. He has been best friends with Kaylee for years. She knows he a Player when it comes to SEX. She asks anyway hoping nothing will change with friendship. Actually the only thing that changes is now they are lovers & best friends.
