The Playboy Prince has lost his princess…The hell I have.It took me this long to find her, so I’m not letting her go without a fight.Everyone will know just how far I’m willing to go for love.Just how far I’m willing to go for…her. As it turns out, love is a stronger motivator than vengeance.
this book is the second book in Xander and Imani story on how they meet and what happens between them and others people and at the end of the book it will surprise you big time
This Royal Series got me hooked on Nana’s books. Knowing that they came in duets, I was looking forward to the conclusion of Xander and Imani’s story. The first book started off weird to me and had some spelling issues that had me hesitant about this book. However, Nana once again develops her characters so well that you can’t help but get so wrapped up into the story. I loved the playful banter between Xander and Imani and how they fed off each other. This book brought about the more serious part of their story and how they handled it. One thing Nana does well is having her characters deal with real-life issues. This book was no different. Since I received this as an ARC for an honest review, I will tell you this duet wasn’t as exciting as her other books but reading not only this series but all the others before, will make you a fan of Nana’s.
Playboy’s Heart by Nana Malone is book Two in the Playboy Royal Series. This continues the story of Xander Chase and Imani Brooks, so you really need to read the first book ‘Royal Playboy’. This book opens us up to more of their story that we didn’t see before. It also deals with the issue they have been fight with and the dangers. Xander still needs to be in control which of course conflicts with Imani. This book covers their story through time and does give us the HEA.
Okay, so I am totally a Xander fan now! His love for Imani and his family completely won me over! Simply, a wonderful book!
Their pretend engagement puts them together to find out their feelings aren’t pretend. Admitting it is another thing. Enemies. Past pain. Independence. They have worked against them. Sex can’t solve it all. Can they admit the pain of the past that intrudes is their present to each other?
The characters are emotionally brutalized but strong in trying to live through it. The author has shown us strength and fear and love in these two with great friends, family, and horrible enemies.
Watching them find a life together is emotionally charged. While I loved most of the book, I found the flow to the ending a little abrupt. Still, a great duo I recommend.
Royal playboy Alexander Chase needs the beautiful Imani too damned much to lose her. Xander just has to convince Imani to love him and has the perfect plan … be the perfect boyfriend. But will Xander’s burning need for vengeance ruin everything?
Playboy’s Heart is a funny, suspenseful and steamy story full of twists and turns that will have you glued to your seat from start to end.
This is another good book, full of ups and downs. Always lots of drama and excitement for this couple! I love reading about all these characters and I hope I’ll get to for many books to come.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. As it turns out, nothing is what is seems. The story itself is a little bit like bubblegum – but nevertheless every chapter leads to the great final, that will throw you a little for a loop. The development of Xander’s character during the story made me like his behavior even more.
Whether by blood or by heart, there’s no emotion more powerful than love. Malone manages to drive that point home with the ultimate double team. Playboy’s Heart gives voice to love’s power with family devotion and the temptation of romance. Xander is the heartache that I never saw coming, yet couldn’t seem to put down. Two brothers could have never seemed more different, Lex was a man of action. He was in you face, before he thought things through. Xander is a quiet storm that plans ahead, before he drops the boom on you. Imani is the happy ending he never knew he wanted, until someone tried to take it away. Now all bets are off and the beast has come out to play. An intriguing romance bundled within a dangerous mystery delivers a breathtaking experience. (4.5 stars)
Imani and Xander’s story concludes in this book. You must read book one, Royal Playboy first to get the complete story and have a full understanding of these characters and events. This couple gave me such a case of the feels. My heart just ached for these two wounded souls and I wanted so badly for them to find the love and get the HEA they needed and deserved. This intense read will capture and hold your interest through every turn of the page with a compelling combination of raw emotions, drama, tension, intense love and hot passion. Heartbreaking, heart melting and one hundred percent swoon worthy, I adored this couple and their remarkable romance.
And the hits just keep on coming when it comes to the Royals of this series.
As much as I love this author, the woman is a true masochist; boy does she love to make her characters suffer.
Xander is an enigmatic character. One you want to delve into and refuse to come up for air until you find out all his secrets, and secrets he has by the bucket ton.
Of course the first part of his story (Royal Playboy) ended on a cliff hanger, when doesn’t this author leave us hanging off a skyscraper?
Imani had already come such a long way in Playboy. In this instalment she grew so much more than even she could imagine. Breathtakingly realistic and someone I would truly love to have a conversation with. Battling all that she has and overcoming demons. Not every woman can kick arse and take names, which is why I adore this author so much. Imani uses her smarts, not always in the right way however, but she does always fight for what she believes in.
Family is important to her and she thrives to support her family in the only way she knows. Fighting against the current uphill. Battling against what is and what should be.
Because of this belief system Imani and Xander clash on the basest level at times. He has his battles, protective instincts, and the warring of his own mind to overcome. Trust is hard for both of these individuals. Talking straight and not in riddles is even harder. Opening a door is easy, but walking through it? That is one of the hardest things to achieve.
A vacant throne and a monarchy in turmoil are thrown into the mix from the beginning and lingers throughout this book. Xander’s mum is a woman of with an iron will and the tranquillity and decorum of a calm stream. She would do anything for her boys and does. To have gone through what she did and still be who she is, well, I’m amazed by her strength.
Imani and Xander work in a way that is so difficult to explain. It’s like faith in the almighty. You either have that faith or you don’t. It just is. That isn’t to say that they don’t need to put the work in. Xander sure as heck does put the work in, fighting to put to rest what he has been fighting his entire adult life. Their love is as beautiful as a multi-coloured, transcendent sunrise. They have so much raw potential, if only they could get out of their own ways.
I love that this book ended setting up for the next series Big Ben. That is a character I cannot wait to meet in more than precursory manner.
Good work Ms. Malone, I still know you rock…HARD!!!!
This is the conclusion of Imani and Xander’s story. We were left with many unanswered questions after reading London playboy. But they were all answered in this book. This book continues with the story of Imani and Xander’s relationship on how they met and all the hurdles they had to go through to be together. Xander is controlling and a fixer. Just acts before he thinks. Imani is independent, at least trying to be. She wants to be able to control her own life. But Xander doesn’t know how to let her do that. Keeps his emotions all bottled up. And has revenge on his mind. Imani knows that Xander needs to express himself in certain ways. But she knows he needs to speak to someone. Most of the book is still in the past, but toward the end we end up in present. I love the chemistry these two have. They live with so much passion. I enjoyed getting to know them. Lex and Abbie were there too! Will Imani and Xander get their happily ever after? Definitely go grab a copy of this book today!!!
Playboy’s Heart is the exciting, emotional conclusion to the Playboy Royal duet!
Xander and Imani are each still dealing with their past and their demons and at the same time trying to maneuver through their pretend relationship that turns out not to be as pretend as they both think. Emotions have gotten in the way, but so have their differences. The big question is, is love enough and can they overcome all that is in front of them? You will have to read this book and find out. You will not be disappointed!
I gave this book five stars because it was absolutely wonderful. Xander and Imani were the perfect couple. I loved everything about the book. Why are people always trying to kill the Royals? Great job as always Nana!
This is part two of Xander and Imani’s duet and it did not disappoint. Their pasts have formed the people they are today. It was great to see Xander begin to open up for Imani, but will their love be enough to slay his demons?
Nana Malone has a way of writing characters that you connect with and have a vested interest in their HEA’s even as she slowly teases us there. The cameo from Team Winston Isles made my heart happy.
Playboy’s Heart is the emotional, thrilling, and steamy conclusion to the Playboy Royal duet. It picks up at the event that made my heart stop at the end of the first book! Xander is finally happy that he is able to step up and help his brother Lex. Xander has so much guilt and pain stemming from his and Lex’s childhood. He has built up strong walls to keep from feeling again and lives for revenge. He needs control over all things and that is a huge hurtle for he and Imani to overcome. She has a past that took her choices away and she needs to know she can make her own choices in her life. Their relationship started with a contract, so as their feelings for each other grow, it was hard to know what is real and what is an act. My heart broke for Xander as he tried to take care of Imani, pushing her further away. I loved how Imani stood her ground, wanting to be a team instead of letting Zander believe he had to do everything on his own. She wants to support Xander as he faces retribution for the plans he has implemented, but she has her own dangerous secret from her past that haunts her as well. This is probably one of my favorite story-lines in Malone’s enchanting royal romances. It included all the things I love about her writing from the fast paced, thrilling story-lines, to having all the royals that we have grown to care for show up to support each other, and also her signature witty banter and wonderful steamy passion! I can’t get enough of these fun, quirky, and sexy Royals and can’t wait for more!
Absolutely loved this book and this duet. Loved reading about Xander and Imani and seeing who the culprit was and loved seeing Alexi and Abbie and all the wonderful characters from the Winston Isles. BRAVO Nana once again for delivering another awesome duet.
Two broken souls, which was touched on in the first book, but holy it was so much deeper than that. Xander is such a broken lost little boy, and Imani is almost the same. Both with a tragic past, but together they heal each other. Trying to navigate this new relationship that started as a semi lie. You can’t help but fall in love with them.
Xander & Imani’s story was definitely unique. I enjoyed having Team Winston Isles and some of Blake Security make appearances. I feel like we haven’t seen the last of this group & I’m excited for whatever comes next.
Let me start by saying I liked Playboy’s Heart but it was just London Calling all over again. I know this was done for new readers who have not read Chase Brothers Series. I had forgotten some of Imani and Xander’s story so it was good to get reacquainted. What I was disappointed with is that we did not get any of the story of who was behind things who shot at the car in Royal Playboy. I like trying to figure things out. My issue with Xander is he is overbearing even though he means well, he just doesn’t know how to go about things. He does not know you to step back and give Imani the space she needs. I get that Imani needs to deal with things on he own and she needs to control things. She still needs to learn it’s okay to ask for help. In my opinion Xander and Imani are the perfect pair. In typical Nana Malone fashion questions were answered but yet more questions were brought to light. We go to see old friends from Blake Security and Winston Isle that’s always fun. The one thing that Xander learned is he is not alone and his family has his back. At the end was one of my favorite scenes the the Women of Winston Isles they always make me laugh. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader’s copy.
