The Playboy Prince has lost his princess…The hell I have.It took me this long to find her, so I’m not letting her go without a fight.Everyone will know just how far I’m willing to go for love.Just how far I’m willing to go for…her. As it turns out, love is a stronger motivator than vengeance.
This started out with a bang! I was entranced from the beginning and wanted to see what would happen next. Imani and Xander grow so much throughout and the result is breathtaking.
This story gave me all the feels. It’s crazy how an individual might not realize how much they care about a person until that one moment that changes everything. Almost like getting smacked upside the head and being told to pay attention or in Xander’s case punched in the face.
Xander tries so hard to win Imani’s heart and keep it forever. It’s very sweet and endearing.
I especially loved the ending of their story. It’s perfect for the two of them.
I really liked Xander and Imani in the first book, and was looking forward to reading this one.
I was honestly conflicted. Both of them were so damaged that it took some of the joy out of the story for me. That is not to say that it wasn’t well written. It was so well done that I couldn’t help but feel Xander’s pain and anguish. I also understood Imani’s need for independence. To be able to stand on her own two feet, and not depend on anyone.
For me, as the reader, it was completely frustrating. They spent so much time butting heads. It got interesting when Xander started to see Alexi’s friend. I felt like Imani’s situation should have caused her to seek out professional help, but it seemed more like she was a right fighter. That is, until she agreed with what Xander was doing or feeling.
I thought the last few chapters of the book had moments of being laugh out loud funny. It just came to me as I was writing this review why this book but me differently. This book had an element of darkness to it that I didn’t feel in the other book. They were lighter, wittier, and more humorous.
I was a little disappointed at the end. I think it is because I wished Xander and Imani had more time in the book being happy. They did achieve their HEA, and the last part of the book was more uplifting. All in all, it was a book that caught your attention at the very beginning and held on until the end. I would give it 3.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Xander has done what he never wanted – hurt his beautiful Imani and pushed her away. So now it’s up to him to figure out how to fix himself and how to fix things so he can get her back. The question is: how? He’ll need to take a good long look at himself first and go from there.
Woo boy but this one was a doozy! Not so much physically, but emotionally and mentally. Xander was soooo messed up and didn’t know how to fix things. And Imani just did her thing and didn’t wait for him to hurt her more. I was so proud of her – she rocks! She’s so strong and she grew a ton in Playboy’s Heart.
I absolutely loved these two together because they fight so hard, work so hard, to hurdle every obstacle, even if the obstacle is themselves. Even though there’s a lot of action and outside things going on, the core of this story is their love and their individual growth. I can’t wait for more of Nana’s royal romances!
The second part of the duet brings this story to a close and drops only a hint on the next one. I have to commend the author on making sure to wrap things up with this one. While the cliffhangers are quickly resolved by the release of the next story, I still felt the need to go back and reread the previous story to make sure I had all the details in a row! These Winston’s are getting to be a big family with lots and lots of people I’d love to meet!
Xander and Imani get their story in this twisting and turning adventure. A few little surprises thrown here and there but finally they have their happily ever after.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for the review.
Book 2 picks up where the last one left off. Xander and Imani continue to have both internal as well as external obstacles their relationship. Xander at times continues to be his own worst enemy but you also gets good surprise. Great ending to the book and was wonderful to “see” old characters
knew the conclusion would be good.
This book starts out where the first ended. Imani in the hosoital but then it gives us tge great backstory of how Imani and Xander met and buikt their future.
These two are broken, both because of assault, but can they push through their past to find the present they both want.
I love these two characters. Imani is a strong female who tries to rise above her past but it’s hard to forget when it’s in your face daily.
Xander wants to put his past behind him but he can’t. His life is filled with anger and revenge. He cares for no one but his brother and Abby until Imani. She is making him feel but he doesn’t know how to deal with it,
While this is a wrap on Xander and Imani, with the incorporation of all the Winston Isle crew at the end of this book I’m sure there is more to come.
I love this extended family. And the surprise announcements at the end.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.
The conclusion of the Playboy Prince Duet did not disappoint and this book picks up where the first one left us on a cliffhanger. Everything is coming together and there is someone is right around the corner with something sharp. The story is packed with action with every minute of Xander and Imani’s story. There is a passion between Xander and Imani. Imani has this independent spirit, even though her stubbornness was a detriment at times. Xander was a mess throughout duet so I was glad when he started coming around and getting his ego in check. I can’t wait for the next book. I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
Book 2 in this story takes Xander and Imani back to the beginning – when they met, how they came together. The two have a heartbreaking tale, and while Xander is trying to get deal with his past and his step-brother, Imani is trying to take care of her sister and alcoholic father by working as an escort. He is set on revenge, and is a bit of a jerk. She has trust issues, and can be overly stubborn – which is a bit annoying at times. The two individually are self-destructive and difficult, but together, they just work. As usually with this series (all centered around the Winston Isles), Nana Malone books are full of chemistry, passion, angst, intrigue, and surprises. As always, loved seeing others from prior books in this one.
In which we find out if Xander has a heart.
If he can win back and keep his princess, Imani.
Xander, your day of reckoning has arrived.
Steamy, drama (of course!).
A dash of the feels. A healthy dose of exasperation at Xander.
Recommend.
Xander, what a perfectly imperfect man! This conclusion to the Playboy duet was incredibly satisfying. Nana Malone’s imperfect, complex characters are realistic, even when not exactly made of reality. I can’t wait to see what she has planned next for her Royals and friends!
Xander and Imani’s story is beautiful, I love Nana Malone books, these series Playboy Royal are a must read. If you love royal romance stories with more than the HEA, read it. I hope for the audiobook soon as I want it to experience it all over again. The story can be read as standalone but it will have characters from other books, so read them all to enjoy it more.
What an intense ending to this thrilling duet! Playboy’s Heart picks up where Royal Playboy leaves off and boy does this book continue to take you on one heck of a roller coaster ride. I was hooked from the moment I started reading and could not put this down.
Xander is such a dark character compared to some of the other ones we meet while reading this series but he also has so much goodness inside of him. My heart broke for the things that he went through when he was a child and those things continue to haunt him still as an adult. However, Imani is the light at the end of a long dark tunnel for him and slowly he begins to put his broken pieces back together.
Of course things wouldn’t be the same without getting to see my favorite Winston Isles crew and I was not disappointed when they all got to make an appearance. I can not wait to see what Nana Malone has up her sleeve next with these characters!

The conclusion of the Playboy Prince Duet does not disappoint! This book picks up where the first one left us on a cliffhanger. We know Xander feels “something” for Imani, but their relationship started on a “fake” note, so both of them are straddling the line of “does he/she feel the same way or do, or is it one-sided in just my head?” There’s a lot of past history Xander has not fully unpacked, and until he does, Imani can sense him withholding something from her. She’s a strong heroine who doesn’t need a white knight fighting her battles which rubs her wishful knight, Xander, the wrong way. In addition to their relationship woes, which are told in flashback, there are threats on his life from an unknown source. This story is full of heart-wrenching feelings, romance, and action once Team Winston Isles and Blake Security show up to help. What fun to visit with the old team as they band together as a family to keep everyone safe!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
The Playboy Prince has lost his princess….
The heck I have. It took me this long to find her, so I’m not letting her go without a fight. Everyone will know just how far I’m willing to go for love.Just how far I’m willing to go for…her. As it turns out, love is a stronger motivator than vengeance.
Playboy’s Heart is the continuation of Royal Playboy. You need to read that one before reading this one and if you have been waiting on Xander to redeem himself then you are reading the right book. If you read Playboys Heart you know it will start in the present with Xander finally taking his responsibility and succeed his mom on the throne. However right after this happen he and his pregnant wife Imani are heading home and gun shot starting ringing out. Now you get to find out how they fell in love and became a couple. These are two broken characters but together they just might be perfection. You have to read the story to find out and I sure don’t want to give away the redemption of Xander.
Anything connected to the Winston Isles gives me life. This duet was a little different for me, but I still enjoyed it a lot!
Imani and Xander both have some personality issues that make it hard for them to figure things out as far as their happiness goes. But who isn’t a little bit flawed? That just made it a little more real for me.
I’m always aware that even when a duet ends, the story doesn’t – especially with ties to the WI – so I wasn’t surprised at the ending though I think some will be left with questions.
Love!
Great ending to a great story! Nana Malone writes such endearing characters. Looking forward to reading more about Xander and Imani in future Winston Isles family stories!
Amazing!! I couldn’t put the book down! Playboy’s Heart is heartwarming, dark and dramatic. I love Imani and Xander’s story, they’ve been through so much and this book really brought everything together. You won’t be disappointed, it’s funny and has a surprising twist that will keep you wanting more. I can’t wait to read what Nana will write next!
I voluntarily leave an honest review of this Advanced Readers Copy.
This book picks up where the stunning cliffhanger left off in Royal Playboy (Playboy Prince Duet Book 1). The book continues to enthrall and entertain infused with poignancy, problems and passion. Xander and Imani endure and grow as individuals as they confront the issues hindering their union. Appearances by Team Winston Isles and Blake Security rounded out the suspense, drama, and intrigue in this conclusion. The tease of what’s to come, has me waiting for the next story.
This is Book 2 of the Playboy Royal Duet
This is the second part of the story of Xander & Imani. Xander just could not get rid of his anger from his childhood, especially with his almost brother, Alistair. Xander is in a very dark place. He likes to fix things for himself on his own and he determined to fix things for Imani without giving her choices or fixing things on her own. This is a whirlwind of a story, to say the least. Many things, good and bad, happen. It is a great ending to a royal story, and I enjoyed it immensely. Can’t wait for the next book by Nana Malone.
