Will Montgomery is a successful professional football player and seemingly has it all. He’s not used to being told no, and certainly doesn’t take no for an answer. So when he turns his charms on his sister’s sexy rocker-chick friend Meg, he’s not only turned down, but met with open hostility, piquing his curiosity and libido. He’s determined to show her that he’s not the arrogant jock she thinks … thinks he is, and to get her into his bed.
Megan McBride is not impressed with Will Montgomery, his fat contract, fancy car, or his arrogant public persona. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, and if she’s learned anything in life, it’s that loving means losing, so she guards her heart ferociously. But she can’t deny the overwhelming attraction to the sexy, tattooed athlete, and when Will starts breaking down her defenses and grabs hold of her heart, will she be able to admit her feelings for him, or will her troubled past cause her to lose the first man she’s ever truly loved?
Play With Me is the third book in the With Me In Seattle Series.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and the push and pull between Will and Meg. They are sweet characters and together, there is great chemistry. There’s a lot of steam in this book- like every chapter once they get together. And I love steam but I have to be honest, there was a bit too much- and too much means that it started to get really repetitive. I said this about the prior book as well, where I kept thinking, wait, did the Audible app accidentally go to the prior chapter? Towards the end, I started fast forwarding through the steamy bits to get to the rest of the story, which, I as I noted, I enjoyed very much. I loved seeing past characters and really enjoyed watching Meg getting over her past to accept love from Will, who was the sweetest character.
The narration team was good. Although only Jennifer Mack is credited on the audible website, Eric Michael Summerer is also a narrator and thank goodness. Jennifer Mack still has a pretty weak male voice, although after listening to multiple books by her (I’m on a Kristen Proby run), i’m getting used to it. In this book, she makes her voice for Meg a bit high so she sounds really young- I don’t get the rationale for that but still it was ok. Eric Michael Summerer is overall pretty good- very succinct and easy to listen to with a pretty good variation from male to female. Overall, the narration is pretty good and though you hear Jennifer Mack more, it’s nice to have the dual narration throughout.
A sweet, charming, and enjoyable journey to go on with Will and Meg. I enjoyed this story.
This one was entertaining and too sweet. However, it was only just OK and nothing exciting to write home about.
I am on an audio binge with this series and this one is about Luke Armstrong, the sexy pro football player who is knocked down by the pediatric oncology nurse who thinks he is the worst thing around. He sets about to change her mind and Meg McBride doesn’t know what hits her and she takes a lot of convincing. She has trust issues but Luke is up to the task. Watching these two find their way was a treat and I am loving my voyage through this series.
Will & Megan
If you want to read a light and feel good romance this is the series for you. Its the third book in the “With Me in Seattle”. I enjoyed reading the series. The family bondings and how easily they fall in love. Will and Megan’s story has a light plot, no cliffhangers and no cheating
2,5 stars
After reading the blurb and discovering that it was about a football player and that it had an enemy to lovers theme in it, I was very excited about this book. But sadly although the writing was good, there were a few things in the story that frustrated me a bit. ‘Play with me’ started great but I was surprised by the fact that although there were some enemy tension in the beginning, that didn’t last really long. But I did like how Will made Megan change her mind about him. Will was a good guy that fell hard for Megan and Megan is a confident, sassy woman with abandonment issues. I liked her too but there was one thing that I liked less about her and that was the fact that she forgave Will so easily when he did stupid things that hurt her (and he made a few ‘mistakes’). He may have had his reasons for what he did but still…. Megan could have make him sweat a bit more before she forgave him. I would have liked that more. And Will is not the only person that she forgave so easily.
The other thing that bothered me a bit, were the many sex scenes in the story. Normally, I’m totally fine with hot, steamy sex scenes in my stories (I love them!). If this book had been an erotic book, the many sex scenes would have been part of the deal but here it felt a bit too much for me. It made that the story missed some depth for me. And the fact that throughout the story we were reminded again and again that Megan didn’t like to wear panties, that irritated me too. After the first few times I got the picture.
However, there were also a few scenes in this book that made me laugh. The women in this story were hilarious when they were drunk. I had as much fun as them and I wasn’t even drunk! Will could also be very thoughtful and romantic at times and I loved that. I liked it that Megan wasn’t impressed with Will’s fame.
I’m sure that other readers will love this story. It’s a sweet and fun story but for me…. I was a bit disappointed by it.
This is book 3 of the With me in Seattle series. Meg went to school with Jules & Nat ( books 1 & 2) and hasn’t seen them in a while until she runs into Jules and her brother Will at a restaurant. While will tries his best to impress Meg she’s not having it, and he doesn’t understand why his “charm” has failed him. Gettin Meg to open up to him will be a bigger struggle than he realizes, she has too many hurts in her past that he will end up having to make up for. That doesn’t stop Meg from being a super funny drunk, or Will from managing to stick his foot in his mouth multiple times. I love their chemistry and their playfulness, completely different from the sweet and romantic dynamic we see with Nat & Luke, and the powerplay dynamic with Jules & Nate.
Wow, just love this one. Loved Will and Meg as a couple. the first one in this series is still my favourite but loved this one too. Great well written story and a hot romance. Absolutely would recommend this series.
Absolutely love this series!!!
