Ajax Easton is a Tony Award-winning playwright used to getting his way. The playwright rules supreme on the Broadway stage and his latest play The End of Love is set to be another hit.
Georgia Madrid is one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood. She’s just won an Oscar but doesn’t believe she’s taken seriously. Her manager recommends the theater and specifically Ajax’s play.
Georgia’s not … not interested. She hates the theater, but she fears becoming overplayed in Hollywood.
Ajax is a theater snob and doesn’t think a screen actress is right for the role, except Georgia is his muse. He’s harbored a secret crush on her for years and the prospect of meeting her pushes him to agree.
Big personalities overrule mutual attraction. Sparks combust into fireworks and lovers become enemies before they realize they couldn’t be a more perfect fit.
This is a steamy contemporary insta-love romantic comedy with an older playwright and his younger leading lady who fall madly in love but keep fumbling their way to their happily ever after.

This book was gripping, well written & the chemistry between the characters sizzled throughout this wonderfully hot read!
Well done Matilda. I look forward to more!
A good tale on the thin line between hate and love; and oh how explosive it is to have hate f*ck. Two strikingly well-accomplished characters, met, then dislike on the first conversation, but ended HEA. What’s not to like? It was interesting to read as the relationship progress and how they finally gave in to the pull of Eros. Sweet tantalizing smexy hotness.
Great read. Wonderful characters and a great storyline. Ajax and Georgia were so good together. They had a very intense attraction and even more chemistry. This story was a perfect way to escape even for just a little. Loved it. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

You can take the girl out of Brooklyn but you can’t take Brooklyn out of the movie star
At a crossroads with her career Georgia’s agent Alva suggests she try for the lead role in a new Ajax Easton play on Broadway. Georgia Marie Madrid is twenty-five years old and has been an actress for the last seven years after being a teenage model. She is successful having won an Oscar but now she is looking for a project that she can stretch herself with. Instead she is being offered scripts with roles that are drivel. So she needs to make a decision on what to do next. The only issue with Ajax Easton plays is that they always have a sad ending, even though they are supposed to be comedies.
Ajax is forty-one years old, a NYC native and is a very successful play write with several Broadway smashes to him name already. His latest play is in the casting phase and they are looking for the leads first. When Georgia Madrid’s name comes up he is in a tizzy as no one knows but his very wonderful assistant Tabitha (from Shut Up & Kiss Me) but he wrote the lead with her in mind. Actually ever seeing Georgia’s picture when she was about eighteen she has been his muse. But Ajax is like a lot of NYC men………jaded about love and relationships. So his plays are not really romantic comedy as much as they are a comedy with an end that makes you cry.
The story of Georgia and Ajax is wonderfully written with witty and funny, as in laugh out loud, dialogue between characters and with their internal thoughts. Both are perfect for each other but they just keep doing things that cause misunderstandings. I mean why else would a grown man leave a beautiful young woman buck n@Ked on her bed when she said one sentence!!! But she is no better as Georgia tends to be a brat and it is going to take a strong man to keep her in line, along with giving her everything she ever wanted – a husband and a house full of kids.
I loved this second book in the Manhattan Bachelors series. It is a really entertaining story that kept my attention from the first page to the last. Plus the supporting characters are absolutely fantastic and really add to the story, and the laughs. A definite recommendation for this book!!!
“Play Right” by Matilda Martel is a deliciously sexy read. It is a:
Hot OM/YW Romance
Sexy, creative, glasses wearing playwright
Curvaceous and naughty starlet
Forbidden Workplace Romance
You will love reading Ajax and Georgia’s love story. TBR and enjoy.
A quick, enjoyable read.
I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing a greater sense of reality to her story, which is tough to do in a shorter read.

I just loved this romance that feels like a blind stumble and not as easy as some has it. I really enjoyed how the story played out and I would recommend it to others!!

The story of Ajax and Georgia is not the typical romance I’ve read. The lead characters are likable with glamour and flaws, the setting of New York Broadway refreshing. I would’ve liked the epilogue to be a bit more developed, though. But overall it’s a great story!

This story was fast paced and enjoyable to read. I liked their internal thoughts which parlayed these same thoughts into humorous actions. The characters were interesting and likable as they fumbled around each other. An enjoyable story.
I’ve read several books written by Martilda Martel; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.

Wonderful story that had me hooked from the start I loved the way Ajax was nervous about meeting George it was so cute & the way Tabitha teases him made me laugh. I did think George was a stuck up but gradually she grew on me. It looked like everything was perfect when they went back to her house but as they were in the throws of passion what she said hurt Ajax & he got up & left as fast as he could, neither thought they were in the wrong so wouldn’t apologise leaving them both hurting but then they got a second chance both declaring their love for each other & a sweet happy ending although it definately wasn’t smooth sailing to get there.

She’s absolutely perfect. In his mind. She’s been his muse for years. Georgia’s agent talks her into meeting with Ajax about a role in his next play. She’s even better in person than he ever could have imagined. Until she criticizes the ending of his play, and he calls her a spoiled brat. His apology alone is worth the price of the book. Until she criticizes the ending again. This book is so wonderful – sexy and funny and so enjoyable. Georgia and Ajax have unbelievable chemistry, when they’re not fighting about the play. Her realization that she might actually be a spoiled brat is priceless. Tabitha – just love her to death – she’s smart and sassy, and not afraid to ruffle Ajax’s feathers. It’s not a long read, but it captivated my interest from the beginning.

I enjoyed this terrific story of Georgia and Ajax. She has been his muse for years and when they meet the attraction is instant. They are meant to be together if only they can take a breath and figure it out. The passion and chemistry between these two is palpable. The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

The screenwriter and the Hollywood diva. This is the second novel I read from this author. I have to say this book is somewhat hurried. Ajax, the play writer had been in love with Georgia, a Hollywood star for 7 years from afar, so when they finally start working together, they mess things up by both behaving in an immature manner. The love Georgia develops for Ajax after their second meeting feels premature. The plot progression feels rushed. I didn’t like Georgia’s personality, her exaggerated sexual desires, the way she treated her mother, nor do I think that Georgia calling Ajax, Daddy, was appropriate, given her father complex. The description of their strong physical desires is steamy, and they get their happy ending. One of the supporting characters, Tabitha, Ajax’s assistant, on the other hand, is very well developed and described. She is intelligent, witty, heavily pregnant, and the rapport between Tabby and Ajax is very entertaining.

Matilda Martel did a great job on this story. The plot was written well. I enjoyed Georgia and Ajax’s story. These two were made for each other. Their connection and chemistry was strong. They were great together.
This was a great story. Thanks, Matilda Martel. Great work 🙂
