Cooper and Teagan are another great couple and you still get to see the Brooklyn dawn family and see what is going to happen with them. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott never disappoint and they definitely didn’t here. I love seeing all the characters interact. Watching the friends to lovers story is great and you can’t help but root for them.
Quinn and Elliott have once again written another first-rate, five+ stars, third installment to the Brooklyn Dawn series. This book focuses on Cooper, the band’s drummer, and Teagan, the band’s newest member. I like that the authors intertwine characters from their other books within the story to enhance the feeling of the band and industry “family”. Cooper and Teagan developed a strong friendship first and this chapter of their story tells of their continued journey full of passion, desire, lust, apprehension, panic, and an element of fear from an outside mystery source. I loved this book and recommend it highly.
Oh my Gosh… I already knew I would love Teagan and Connor’s love stories but that was even better, even more wonderful than Connor himself.
I love Taryn Quinn’s novels, I love our beloved rockstars and their peers. How I would like to go to a show with all our favorite bands, participate in a VIP fan meeting…
I really love the thrillers that are next to the love stories and I’m already looking forward to Zane’s story.
Wow! Wow! Wow! 5 stars is just not enough for the love i have for Cooper and Teagan. Hes been watching and waiting for her to realize friends just isnt enough. I loved how seamlessly they meshed. Being best friends helped since they already loved each other but circumstances forced them a little faster. If youve read previous novels, you know theres a threat to all they have. Teagan becomes the center of this threat but Cooper is not going to let anything happen. Cooper made me swoon more than once and i think hes the most romantic of this rocker world. Teagan is so sweet ans sassy too that you cant help but love her too. The antics of this band make me laugh and simultaneously want to be a member.
I love this series so I couldn’t wait for the release of Play Mine. Oh. My. God. It is so worth the wait. It is now my all time favorite book by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot!!!
Play Mine seriously has everything I love in a story…..
Suspense
Rockstars
Dirty talking alpha
Humor
Friends to lovers
Hot and steamy
HEA
Play Mine centers around drummer Cooper Dallas and piano player Teagan Daly, both members of Brooklyn Dawn. Oh how I absolutely love these two!!! Teagan is the newest member of the band and in a way still feels like an outsider. Except with Cooper. They are besties. He’s who she turns to when things go sideways late one night. Well early morning. There is turning back from that point on. Cooper has had more than she’s my friend feelings for her but was afraid to lose her friendship. When it seems that Teagan is now the target of whomever is after Ripper Records he turns into her protector. Soon their mutual feelings come to light and their chemistry is impossible to hide. Holy hot AF!!
Gah!! I can’t say enough just how well written this book is!!! These authors really delivered a well thought out storyline filled with laughs, a few tears, suspense and a perfect HEA!
Amazing!!! This is Cooper’s, the drummer in Brooklyn Dawn and keyboardist Teagan’s story. I loved their story of friends to lovers. They have been friends for years, even though there are feelings, they never crossed the line. With threats to the record label and the band, security is hired but Cooper an ex-ranger takes on the role of Teagan’s bodyguard after she has a scare one night. On that night their friendship changes and I just could not get enough. Their chemistry is amazing – as is this book!!!
This is book 3 in the Brooklyn Dawn series and while it could be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading the previous books before this one as there is a larger story ARC happening in this series vs just the book. In this one we get Cooper and Teagan’s story. Teagan is the newest member of the band who never thought she had anything to worry about now but getting on stage and rocking with her band. She wasn’t expecting her past to come back to haunt her, nor was she expecting to have to have a bodyguard follow her around everywhere she went. Or that her best friend would want to take over the role of protector, along with things much more personal. Cooper has kept to the status quo of best friend with Teagan until she comes running to him scared. And that pushes him to figure out exactly what he wants and needs from her, and actually show her as well. Now he has to not only keep her safe but show her what they could truly have together.
I absolutely loved this one! I loved Teagan from the first when we saw her in Elle and Mal’s book and I was hoping she would get her own story. And boy did she! She and Cooper have a chemistry that is off the charts but the fact that everything between them started as best friends? Beyond phenomenal! It’s the perfect way to start for them, in my opinion. And they not only know each other but they truly want the other person to be happy, no matter what. I loved every second of it!!! But now I really need Zane’s story because I need to know what happened!!! Honestly, I think I love this series more than LIO and I didn’t think that could happen!
Wow!! Loved it!!
Teagan is the keyboardist for the hugely popular rock band Brooklyn Dawn and is still hoping that she fits in with the band. She has become best friends with their drummer, Cooper over the last two years and he is exactly who she goes running for after believing her ex has tracked her down and wants to do harm to her while she is practicing alone in the middle of the night at their next venue.
Cooper wants to do nothing more than take Teagan in as she also just found out that her townhouse has also burned down that same night. Teagan was clueless that Cooper wanted more than the friend zone even though she has had some of those same thoughts. Everyone in the band has their own personal bodyguard since they believe that the bands from Ripper Records have someone out there who wants to do harm to their famous bands.
This is only the beginning for this engrossing, fantastic book. These two authors do it every time for me giving me extremely hot rock stars living life on the edge and still looking out for each other. They also sure know how to give me all the chemistry and suspense that I have come to expect from them. This book had me sitting and reading it all at one time because I just couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see what comes next!! I absolutely love their work.
Well they did it again. I did not want this book to end. Teagan and Cooper have this spark that can start a fire you just don’t want to put out. I love the gang being together and the banner between all of them(you will laugh till there is tears in your eyes). Hot lovin and suspense is what you will get out of the is AWSOM BOOK. READ IT NOW
Yes, Teagan and Cooper are friends. Yes, they are both in the band Brooklyn Dawn. And Yes, their story is not to be missed! Hot, Sexy, and a pleasure to read.
From the tour bus to the concerts, to these band members, you will keep your on your toes with all the antics. The intrigue also continues in this book as members are being targeted by the person or persons out to destroy the bands and Ripper records.
This book is a good escape from our daily lives that will bring you happiness as we get to visit with these band members who have become like family to us. So set down and read about how Teagan and Cooper become more than just friends! Oh, and Donovan has a scene that… well you’ll know when you read it. Can’t wait for Zane’s story next.
This third installment of this series was a fantastic read that had me hooked from the start! Where this book can be read as a standalone story, I recommend one read the rest of the series. Told from both POV, this friends to lovers story was one hot read with the chemistry between Cooper and Teagan being off the charts. The story drew me in made me not wanting to put it down once I started reading it. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books as well as other series. Overall, I would recommend this book to others
Teagan running to close friend, Cooper, one night in fear, is the catalyst for the turn in their relationship. Unbeknown to either, they each had harbored more than friendly feelings for the other. When Teagan comes to him looking for comfort after something spooks her, Cooper can no longer hold back his feelings for her – both the protective and the more than friendly kind. Can they keep it on the down low from their band, Brooklyn Dawn? Can Cooper protect his love when the same menace that’s been terrorizing the band comes after her?
Cooper and Teagan are perfect for each other. He’s alpha protective and can hold his own with Teagan, who may come across at first as soft and pliant, but actually is quite strong and sassy when she feels he’s doing things without keeping her in the know. And that chemistry?! HOT!!! Put a former Army Ranger with skills (drumming and otherwise) together with the love of his life and what do you get?
The band is in a security bubble lately, thanks to the events of the previous two installments. None of the members is supposed to go anywhere without security agents, so when Teagan snuck out that night without her bodyguard, yeah, not so smart. But it lead her to her friend who was really all along more than just a long-time friend. And things exploded from there. Of course, other, less fun things happen after, and the overall suspense arc of this series is furthered, with no resolution. But that’s OK because the epilogue is so freaking sweet. I adored Cooper and Teagan together and cannot wait for more Brooklyn Dawn shenanigans.
A love story with intrigue threading its way throughout the book. From the terror, Tegan felt in the first scene to the final paragraph where there are questions still unanswered, but forthcoming in the next book. Ripper Records’ bands are being targeted for an unknown reason causing fear and havoc on the players. This is with security in place. Speaking of said security, individual band members spend some of their time avoiding their presence, which causes additional issues. A must-read! Each book is standalone with a HEA, but the intrigue links and hooks are in each book. Beginning with Play Dirty continuing through Play Fast, including this book: Play Mine and the next book in the series, Play Hard. Between the mystery of who is targeting band members and why, the romance story is off the charts in heat, humor, and old-fashioned fun. I wish the band, “Brooklyn Dawn” were real, I would go to their concert and fangirl for autographs.
The romance was off the charts with drummer Cooper and keyboardist Teagan leaving the “friends’ zone” far, far behind them, to become lovers that were insatiable! The heat radiating off the pages was so scorching hot; I was surprised that my I-Pad did not have smoke radiating off the screen. Not a story easily left behind to go on the next book in the series. I want to just “dig in and stay within the pages” hangout and not have Teagan and Cooper’s story end.
These two authors never fail to come together to write an epic rockstar romance that has me joyfully laughing and swooning, all while also keeping me on the edge of my seat in suspense. Both have collaborated on several books together and one would think that they’d run out of ideas, but no, each character is unique and the storylines never fail to captivate me.
Brooklyn Dawn is back and Play Mine focuses on their newest member, pianist Teagan and drummer Cooper. I adore Teagan as she is this effervescent, spirited soul that is both likable and relatable. She has secrets from her past that haunt her and is insecure about her place in the band. Yet, this girl, while vulnerable, is also strong and her strength of character continues to grow throughout the story. Cooper is positively charming. This ex-army Ranger and delicious drummer is also a great friend to Teagan and to the rest of his bandmates. He has a protective streak and is commanding when he needs to be, but also has a kind-hearted presence. It was enjoyable to see him all tied in knots over his feelings for Teagan. These two together are dynamite with several kindle melting scenes and to witness their relationship unfold was very entertaining.
Play Mine is not only a friends-to-lovers rockstar romance, it is also a thrilling novel with an aura of suspense. Threats are circulating around the band and Teagan seems to be the most recent target. It is someone for her past or perhaps involves something more sinister? The events occurring within the pages left me wondering just who is the real target, who instigating it, and why. Some of the mystery is resolved by the end of this book and the couple do get their HEA, but the main underlying mystery is not entirely wrapped up.
The Brooklyn Dawn series continues to enthrall me as each of the band members exhibit their distinctive personalities and contribution to the band. They are an energetic bunch and their camaraderie is impressive. With each performance, the authors create palpable excitement that shines through the pages. Play Mine is a story of friendship, music, family, and love. It is an engaging friends-to-lovers romance with an interesting storyline and intriguing suspense. It is a book that you won’t want to miss!
Loved Everything About This Book!
An Awesome Must Read by The Phenomenal Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott!
4.5 stars–PLAY MINE is the third instalment in the contemporary, adult BROOKLYN DAWN erotic, rock, romance series co-authored by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. Focusing on the members of the rock band Brooklyn Dawn, this is twenty-eight year old, ex-Ranger and drummer Cooper Dallas, and keyboardist Teagan Daly’s story line. PLAY MINE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary. Several characters cross over from the authors’ Oblivion World series.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Cooper and Teagan) PLAY MINE follows the friends (bandmates) to lovers relationship between twenty-eight year old, ex-Ranger and drummer Cooper Dallas, and keyboardist Teagan Daly, and the threats against the musicians who work for Ripper Records. With the latest threats focusing on Teagan Daly, Cooper Dallas, a former US Army Ranger and Teagan’s band mate declares himself the personal guardian of our story line heroine after a suspicious fire forced Teagan to move in with the band’s drummer. As the team at Ripper Records places a security guard with each of the band’s members, an investigation into the who, how and why reveals no suspects or motives until Brooklyn Dawn’s guitarist Zane is drugged resulting in a paparazzi nightmare. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Teagan and Cooper, and the potential fall-out as the band goes on the road in the aftermath of attacks against our story line heroine.
The relationship between Cooper and Teagan is a best friends to lovers, Brooklyn Dawn bandmates wherein their forced time together pushes the couple closer together. Cooper Dallas has lusted after his best friend for as long as he can remember but Teagan has been oblivious to the sparks between our leading couple. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, spontaneous and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including all of the members of Brooklyn Dawn: Lead singer Lindsey York (Alex Nash), lead guitarist Jamie DuCaine, rhythm guitarist Zane Landry, bass guitarist Oz Taylor, and stylist Daisy Flannigan; Roth Defense specialist Noah Jordan, and Cole Riggs, Ripper Records executives CEO Donovan Lewis, and Lila Ronson Shawcross Crandall and her husband Nick (Oblivion), and several members of from the other bands at Ripper Records including Ricki (Warning Sign), Michael Shawcross (Warning Sign), and Deacon McCoy (Oblivion).
PLAY MINE is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love. A story of betrayal and vengeance, threats and protection. The fast paced premise is powerful and emotional; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are dynamic and charismatic. PLAY MINE ends on a happily ever after-for now as the conflict has yet to be resolved.
Teagan Daly is the keyboard player for the rock band Brooklyn Dawn. She is fairly new to the band and not 100% sure of her place. Also the band and their producer Ripper Records have received threats. A security protection agency has been hired and everyone has been asked to be extra careful. Just before a performance in Brooklyn prior to leaving on a concert tour Teagan found herself feeling restless so she slipped away from her bodyguard and headed to the club where the band would be playing for a charity event. She wanted to use up some of her nervous energy by practicing a few songs on her keyboard that was already set up there for the band’s performance. Even if it was practically the middle of the night. While there she heard noises in the supposedly empty club that scared her. Was it her ex-boyfriend who wasn’t ready to let her go? Or was it whoever was threatening Ripper Records and their musicians? In a panic she ran from the club straight to her close friend Cooper Dallas.
In addition to being Brooklyn Dawn’s drummer Cooper Dallas is an ex-Army Ranger. He can take care of himself if there is a threat. And yes, he is Teagan’s close friend but he wants to be more. He loves Teagan and needs to up his game to the next level. When she ran to him, scared to death, he knew he had to protect her and make her feel safe. That night was a turning point for Cooper and Teagan. That was the night they became more than friends. They became lovers. Where this relationship would end up was yet to be seen. Cooper knew where he wanted it to go. He wanted to put a ring on Teagan’s finger.
Play Mine by Cari Quin and Taryn Elliot is the third book in their Brooklyn Dawn series. This series has an overall arc of threats to Ripper Records and their musicians. Play Mine continues this arc with the mystery, suspense and events which occur during Teagan’s and Cooper’s story. This book works well as a standalone though. I never felt like I was lost or wondering what I missed in the first two books. I really liked the personalities of the band members, their management and security. I really enjoyed getting to know Teagan and Cooper and riding along with them on their road to their Happily Ever After. Anyone looking for a great steamy, super sexy rock band story need look no further than Play Mine.
