Sleeping with your bandmate is wrong, right? But what if it feels really good…I’m a keyboardist on probation with the mega huge band Brooklyn Dawn.No fights. No drama. No problem.Until Cooper, our drummer, steps in when my dangerous ex approaches me for the first time in years.Cooper defending me—protecting me like no one ever has—rattles me. Turns me on. Makes me long for something I’d vowed … has—rattles me. Turns me on. Makes me long for something I’d vowed would never be mine.
I didn’t mean to sleep with him.
Exactly.
Now we’re lying to everyone, hiding what’s happening. Hoping my ex will just disappear again, although Cooper thinks that’s the coward’s way out.
Except I’ve been hiding my past from the band, upholding my promise of no drama. Whether or not it’s my fault.
But Cooper wants to keep me safe. Wants me to be his, in every possible way.
No matter the consequences.
Author’s note: Play Mine is a standalone friends to lovers rock star romance. It ends in a happily ever after with no cliffhanger.

Teagan & Cooper!! Just the cutest couple you’ve ever met! He’s been hiding his feelings for his best friend for ages. She’s just starting to see him through different eyes. Then arson throws them together and the mishaps keep coming! Loved it
Enjoyed this read the whole suspense part is not resolved in this book so can’t wait to read the next one.
Definite improvement from the previous book in this series! A friends to lovers romance within the band. While I love the concept, what bothered me a bit was the fact that we don’t see the full build of the friendship. It’s already established & now it’s a year later. Not much to really build from there except the sexual tension/ scenes, which I felt was a couple too many in the way of scenes to the “relationship” that wasn’t of any shock value to the band. The mystery continues with the band’s ongoing strange coincidences. And even through these serious events, these rockstars are doing everything in their power to be nonconforming. There’s also not much in the way of advancement to unraveling it, only misleading tidbits. Even with all the cons I found with the story, I still very much enjoyed the writing & new info being provided as well a certain unexpected scene including the ever so mysterious Donovan Lewis. Absolutely looking forward to seeing Zane piece together his wild night in his book that is next!
WOW! I had been waiting for this one. This is the third installment in this series but if you haven’t read the first two books you could read this as a standalone as anything you need to know is revealed as it comes up. This one could be classified as a friends to lover trope since it involved bandmates Teagan Daly (keyboards) and Cooper Dallas (drums) who start out as best friends (even though Cooper has had the hots for Teagan since she joined the band). When a suspicious fire at Teagan’s home leaves it uninhabitable (while she is not there) she is forced (according to Cooper) to move in with Coop. The band has had a run of bad luck with stalkers, etc., and security has been tight and now every member is assigned a bodyguard, especially after Zane is drugged by a drink that seemingly was intended for Teagan. With the band back on tour, Coop and Teagan are forced into a closeness and along with the band, this one was wild. This one was full of sexy goodness and suspense all rolled up in one. Add in the secondary characters of the rest of the band and the respective partners along with the Ripper gang and this is one big family! This ends on a happily for now since it is not totally resolved which means there is more to come. YAY!
I feel so many things about Play Mine, this is book 3 of Brooklyn Dawn, the rock band that is hugely famous. Cooper and Teagan are the drummer and keyboardist and best friends. Cooper has been secretely in love with Teagan and has kept it under control until she was threatened and her house caught on fire. When Teagan moved into Coopers the dominant possessiveness came out and he couldnt hold back anymore. What a fun, steamy read. It is always great to be swept up into a world by Taryn and Cari that you feel like you are a part of. The characters feel like your friends and every book feels like catching up and being a part of their world. Great job as always, these ladies are my favorite authors.
Best friends become so much more. Chemistry is off the charts! This book is a continuation of a suspense thread that began in the first book and is continuing through the rest of the series. It has a bit of a serial feel to it, since when you finish reading this book you still don’t know who done it. The authors have done a good job of disclosing that in their write ups. Kudos for another great read.
Hot and heavy and everything in between. Sometimes you read a book and you can’t seem to get enough of it, well this was it for me. Teagan and Cooper are so hot together. I loved how the story plays out. I am a sucker for a good romance with such a great story line. I loved every minute of reading this book.
Teagan and Cooper are the best of friends who decide it’s time to take it up a notch or a 100. They get super hot super fast!! I loved the chemistry between the 2 of them but I would suggest waiting for the last book to release if you need everything to be tied up at the end of the book. There are still nefarious things going on at Ripper Records and it doesn’t get resolved in this book.
Teagan and Cooper’s story. This is a friends to lovers story. We get back story on both characters. Cooper if course is the ex Ranger who is overly protective of Teagan. Teagan comes into her own in this story. While the person(s) trying to take down Ripper Records is focused on her, she gives her back story and shows her own toughness.
While I enjoyed this story, I’m kind of getting tired of the suspense and reason for who is coming after everyone. There was drama in this story but very little information or steps to finding out what is going on. If im honest im a little tired of this portion of the story line.
Look forward to Zane’s book.
This is an honest voluntary review
Cooper and Teagan might be one of my new favorite couples! I love how their relationship progressed and how they always have each other’s back. I’m always so excited when a new book in the series comes out but this one might be hard to top
Play Mine is the next book in the Brooklyn Dawn series from Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. You don’t have to read the other books, but I suggest you do. In fact, just start at the beginning with the Oblivion books and go from there. Awesome reads and the background laid carries all the way through the other series.
Cooper and Teagan have been friends since Teagan joined the band. And lately, they’ve been best friends. One crazy day leads to one hot night and all their secret feelings for each other come to light. With all the things threatening the band and Ripper Records, it’s not a hardship for either of them to have to spend more time together. But how long will it take for them both to tell the other how they really feel?
Although Teagan and Cooper get their HEA, Cari and Taryn once again leave you just a morsel to hang onto for the next book.
The good: I enjoyed the building relationship between Cooper and Teagan. I enjoyed how their romance developed and grew. Coopers’ care and treatment of Teagan are touching and romantic, the inclusion of other members of Oblivion is natural, and fits in well within the story. I loved the inclusion of Donovan and the interplay between Jamie and “lord Donovan.” The care Cooper takes with Zane and his being “roofied” in place of another character was endearing and helped create well-rounded characters. I really enjoyed the behind the scenes of the concerts, the fan meet, the tour prep, the interplay between the band members and the other bands. the actual story is very well written and developed, the problems really appear with the “suspense” part of the tale.
The problems: It’s getting tiresome having a mystery storyline with little to no advancement or explanations. The weird attack in the venue, (Teagans over the top reaction makes her look ditzy) the fire, the attempt at doping have no resolution and appears to be random. Also, there are persons threatening Ripper records. Everyone is told the threats have caused death and harm. Bodyguards would be assigned, yet everyone does everything they can to ditch the bodyguards. They know how serious the situation is, yet they ditch their bodyguards ALL the time. there are no repercussions over their actions. It was very obvious how they would act when it was announced there would be bodyguards. this is cliched writing. and that NEVER happens with these authors.
The suspense plotline needs to be tightened up and become more integrated into the plot, not inserted at odd times, or as an afterthought. There are two more books to this series coming out, I think the suspense angle needs to be worked resolved and given up.
I absolutely loved this book. I became every character at some point and time while reading it. The detail in to the lives and actions of these characters are so consuming to me!!! Can’t wait for this fabulous duo to create another. Must read!!
I adore every rockstar story that Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott write. I inhale them and revel in them, loving every second when I am reading them. Play Mine? More perfection from these two talented authors who truly know how to write a rockstar romance! Best-friends-to-lovers is one of my all-time favorite genres and this dynamic duo wrote it to perfection! Teagan and Cooper are everything!! I loved their close friendship and how much they cared for one another. Cooper would do anything for Teagan and it was his protective nature that won me over. Their story was funny, sexy and suspenseful. All important ingredients for an addictive story. I couldn’t wait to see how the drama would unfold with Brooklyn Dawn. And the writers did not disappoint! They set up Zane’s story perfectly and I cannot wait to see what happens and who is after the band! The more I read of this series, the more I fall in love! 5 stars
Play Mine is Cooper and Tegan’s love story and, despite it being romantic suspense, I’d say it is very much their blossoming romance which takes centre stage here.
I loved that these two were friends first and foremost. They had a great relationship, very much best friends, comfortable in each other’s company. Teagan was oblivious to Cooper’s not so platonic feelings towards her until a kiss and some not so subtle dirty dancing clued her in to the fact that there could be more between them than just friendship. I loved the smoothness of that realisation, that transition, which actually could’ve been so awkward but their already close relationship, the familiar banter between them, ensured it wasn’t. Once they took that next step, hoo boy did things get extremely hot between the sheets, and various other places! I loved the fact that Teagan was confident and unapologetic when it came to her wants and needs, if you know what I mean, and with Cooper, she sure had the right man for the job.
I absolutely love the way these authors write rockstars. Brooklyn Dawn in particular are a great bunch. Their camaraderie alone make them more than just members of a band, they’re family. Their musical references and ability to place you right there in the crowd on tour with the band, to have you singing along in my particular case, is second to none. In fact, never mind in the crowd, you could be up there with these artists, such is the vivid imagery of the onstage shenanigans created by these authors.
Although the suspense itself does not overshadow our couple’s relationship, nevertheless it’s very much there waiting in the wings. When it rears it’s head, it takes quite a dramatic turn, going from threats to actions very quickly, actions which have very serious long term consequences. You won’t find any answers here, however, just more questions leading into the next book in the series. Each book is a complete story when it comes to the main couple but I personally think you would be better invested in the series if you read them in order, not just when it comes to the suspense arc running through it, but so you can get to know all the members of the band. The dramatic events which took place in Play Mine have left me hugely intrigued and the next book in this series can’t come soon enough.
Cooper and Teagan are adorable. There were rockstar, love, sex and suspense. I wish there was a little more suspense, but there was plenty of hot sexy times
These ladies are the best Rockstar writers I have ever read! You become immersed in the characters world and it becomes almost real for you. Copper and Teagan are so cute, I can’t wait for more.
Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott are in their sweet spot with Play Mine. Rock romance with suspense of a crazy fan stuff creating issues the band. Book 3 is the friends to lovers story of Cooper, the drummer, and Teagan, the keyboardist. I love the behind the scenes of the popular Brooklyn Dawn band as they head out on tour. Donovan, the head of Ripper Records, has a scene that is a show in itself. It could be read as a stand alone, but Quinn and Elliott are a couple of my favorite authors and I recommend everyone of their stories.
Cooper and Teagan have been friends for what seems like forever. There have been unexplored romantic (lustful?) feelings between them that neither acknowledged. Then one night Teagan runs to Cooper when she’s in trouble, and the feelings morphed from friends to protector/protectee, to lovers. These are my favorite characters in the Brooklyn Dawn series thus far. They are easily the most relatable in my mind, and their story just flowed.
Aside from the characters, my favorite thing about this book is that it skipped the whole “fight and break up then someone apologizes and it’s all rosy again” thing. The characters know each other almost better than they know themselves, and any arguments/fights they may have feel natural and are resolved without drama.
This is a standalone book, but the others in this series were awesome too, and should not be missed! The main characters’ story is resolved in this HEA book, but as the authors warned, there is a thread of mystery and danger that runs through this series and will be resolved in the last book.
Suspenseful and steamy, the characters were great. Teagan and Cooper started off as best friends, even though Cooper has had feelings for Teagan for awhile. When unfortunate events happen to Teagan, she ends up staying with Cooper. Things start to move fast between them, but yet not fast enough. Due to a stalker, security is tightened. Teagan is worried about her place with the band because she feels like an outsider still. While on tour, the band does its best to make her feel like she belongs. Teagan finally starts to believe she belongs and ends up with a big surprise. I really liked the ending of this book and can’t wait for the next book.
