All women are liars. Well, maybe not all women. Over the years, I’ve only met a few who cared about anyone other than themselves. Seven years had passed since the last time I saw her. The one who lied to me. I might pretend it doesn’t bother me now, but the scars are as fresh as the day she disappeared. Hopefully, someday I can forget the pain she caused. Or, until I literally run into her–if … until I literally run into her–if only that were the last time. It seems destiny wants to torture me.
How am I supposed to move on when I can’t escape her?

Jackson is lead guitarist for Jaded Ivory and this man is sexy and handsome but in the last book we learned he has trust issues with women and we found out why. Now that issue who’s name is Megan is back and he can’t seem to get away from her. There’s a lot of history with Jackson and Megan and at the beginning I kind of hated her for hurting Jackson. When her reasons are revealed I couldn’t hate her anymore. Every decision she made was with him in mind, you can’t hate her for her selflessness. I loved their chemistry and their friendship. Jackson was blind to lots of things about Megan, thank god his friends weren’t as blind. I loved this book and I’m sad I’ve come to the end of the series. I’m giving this book five stars and highly recommending it.
Play Me is the fifth book in the Jaded Ivory Series. It can be read as a standalone, but why not start at the beginning and get even more of these wonderful characters. This story is a second chance love story. Megan and Jackson meet and fell in love while they were at college, they had plans for a future but Megan just up and disappeared. Fast forward seven years and they meet again, but Jackson wants nothing to do with her or what she has to say. He hasn’t been the same since she left him. Will Megan get him to listen to her? The other band members have met their other halfs, and he’s realizing that he wants that too with the one girl who broke his heart in two. Can he forgive her?
I like how the band members are in each others stories, I can’t tell you how many times I laughed at their banter.
Jackson and Megan were together in college until Megan disappeared after a holiday. Jackson had no way of contacting her. He’s been carrying the pain of it around with him for the last 7 years. Now he is the founding member and guitarist of the Jaded Ivory band. Megan is a nurse in the ER. They bump into each other after all this time. Megan wants to tell her side of the story but Jackson may not want to hear it. A good read.
This is the 5th book in this amazing series and is Jackson and Megan’s story. These two have a history, and when Megan left suddenly, Jackson was left heartbroken, and unable to trust any woman, but he also desperately wants what his band members have. When fate brings these two back together, Megan just wants to explain why she had to leave, but Jackson does not wait to hear it. This is a beautifully written story which is engaging, entertaining and a steamy read, which had me hooked throughout. I recommend for all.
This as been an amazing series so far. Play Me is a 4 star story that was heartbreaking at times.
Jackson is one of Jaded Ivory’s band member. He gets a blast from his past that he never forgot. He’s still very upset about what went down with Megan. This is their story.
This was not what I was expecting from this storyline. It was amazing. Rock star/military. My reason why that I didn’t give it a 5 star is purely subjective. I cringe every time the other band members would name call Megan. I know it’s just a fictional story but that’s how I feel. It’s well worth the read.
It can safely be read as standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story.
Jackson and Megan have history they met in college and were supposed to spend the rest if their life’s together …well that was until Megan walked away without telling Jackson why. Fast forward seven years and a Jackson is still struggling to form relationships but being the lead guitarist of Jaded Ivory has made it easy for him to have plenty of one night stands with no strings attached.
Two people leading very different lives thinking their paths would never cross again come face to face in an ER department, fate may have played a hand in putting Jackson and Megan together but it will be up to Jackson to listen to reason when Megan’s opens her heart as to why she walked away from her one true love seven years ago….
This is a book that had all the feels and it will appeal to all romance lovers, it’s a sweet yet passionate second chance romance with characters you can’t help falling for. Play Me is book 5 in the Jaded Ivory Series but each of these books can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone’s, I know this because for reasons out of my control I missed books 3 & 4 but I still loved Jackson and Megan’s story. Looking forward to going back and playing catch up with this entertaining series.
Jackson and Megan had it all in college, until that fateful Christmas break. When Jackson came back, he couldn’t find Megan. Her room had been cleaned out and she was no longer registered. He had no way of contacting her either, and he was devastated. They’d had their future planned out, and now she was gone without a word. That shock and hurt has shaped the man that he is now, seven years later. He’s never trusted another woman and hasn’t even tried at a relationship since then.
Megan’s life changed in an instant seven years ago. She had it all, the love of her life, and was well on her way to her nursing degree. Until that Christmas break, the one where she went home and went to that party. Arrested for possession, the school took away her scholarship, and even though the charges were eventually dropped, the school wouldn’t reverse their decision. Megan didn’t want Jackson’s life messed up by being involved with her, so she dropped out of sight. Disappearing into the Army, she eventually got her nursing degree, and finally got into the career she’d always loved.
Out of the blue, the two run into each other at a movie theater, but Jackson doesn’t want to listen to what Megan has to say. She’d left all those years ago, and there’s nothing she can say or do to make up for that.
Jackson and Megan have a rocky reconnection, and a second chance seems to not be in their cards. Not until things get sorted out and both of them see what’s really in front of them and let go of the people they were in the past. During the whole story, you root for them to see it and grab their chance at a true love meant to last.
This is part of a series, but I didn’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the four previous stories. The writing’s good, with an easy to follow storyline, and wonderful characters. I definitely recommend Jackson and Megan’s story if you like second chance romances.
*I received an ARC of this story and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I really enjoyed this book. Awesome characters and an amazing story. I think the author done a fabulous job capturing every subject that she tackled in Megan and Jackson’s story.
They met and originally fell in love in college, but one mistake made by Megan took that all away. 7 years later they reunite with a rocky start and a little help from Jackson’s fellow band members and their wives.
Jackson is a rock star, lead guitarist in the band Jaded Ivory. Megan is an ER nurse and an active Lt. in Army Reserved. These two are from two totally different worlds but couldn’t be more perfect for one another. Their story has a few ups and downs and is packed with sweet romance and of course their electric chemistry leads to a few steamy scenes along the way.

Jackson and Megan met in college and had planned to marry one day…that is until Megan walked away with no explanations. During these seven years apart it has left Jackson really struggling relationship wise. Being the lead guitarist of Jaded Ivory hasn’t left him without exposure to all kinds of willing women but it never led to anything meaningful.
Their lives have taken quite different paths with Jackson the rock star and Megan an ER nurse but there is still that connection that even Jackson’s bandmates and their wives see. So it’s up to them to help push Jackson to try again with Megan because they know he’s been missing something in his life all of this time. This was a very sweet second chance romance.
