She has a head for business and a body for sin. He is a coach who knows how to use his equipment.Neither is looking for love. Should be easy, right? Wrong. This might be the most important game Kendall Wales and Hunter Owens have ever played where everything is on the line. With one wrong play, they could lose it all. Hopefully, the game clock doesn’t reach zero before it’s too late.*A stand … alone novel that combines Kelly Elliott’s The Playbook and Kristin Mayer’s Trust Me

5 Star Review Play Me by Kelly Elliott & Kristin Mayer
Where do I start? Play Me was full of off the charts chemistry between Hunter Owen and Kendall Wales and had me riveted from the first to the last page, honestly I couldn’t put this book down and read it in almost one sitting.
The continuity between the authors was seamless. I have no idea who wrote which part and honestly, it doesn’t matter. It was brilliant from start to finish.
I really enjoyed the story that Ms.Elliott and Ms. Mayer wrote about a chance meeting that morphed in to so much more.
There is plenty of humour, drama, love and intense chemistry throughout Play Me. Both Kendall and Hunter are extremely likeable characters and I thought Hunter was totally swoon worthy at times. The banter and camaraderie within this story made me smile so much it hurt.
This was a fun, and entertaining journey to go on with Kendall and Hunter. This is my first book by either author, I’m looking forward to reading more from both of them.
The story was about sex and not much more–very repetitive on sex scenes.
This book was amazing. The storyline was always pulling me deeper into the book. I read this book in meer hours!!!
Kendall and Hunter are the perfect example of two people who love to hate each other. The banter between them is super hilarious and the play time is even hotter. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next book that Kelly and Kristen write.
This collaboration between Kelly Elliott and Kristin Mayer gives you the amazing words by these two talented authors as their book worlds become entwined. Two people who aren’t truly living are brought together in a strategic move where plays are outlined, hard work is on the horizon and compromises must be made. As Hunter and Kendall put the most important thing into the game, their hearts, it will take just one wrong move and they could lose it all. Play Me is a story of strong wills, learning to trust, family and a love like no other. Their story will own your heart and soul and leave you breathless. A book that brings passion, commitment, strength and understanding in a game winning match.
I have been looking forward to this book since it was announced… how could you possibly go wrong with these two authors! This book had me consumed from beginning to end with the witty banter, sexual tension, off the charts chemistry and laugh out loud moments. I absolutely LOVED Kendall and Hunter’s story and so will you!
An enjoyable fun workplace romance with characters that have amazing chemistry. Often books substitute a good storyline for the fun sexy times but not this book. Sexy sportsman/cowboy and strong independent business woman was a match made in romance.
I’m not sure it’s possible to have a prettier picture than the cowboy football coach. I was drooling right along with our heroine. And his workout regimen….jaw on the floor! Yes, I’d say lust had a lot to do with it.
But this isn’t a one night stand story, nope, this is playing for keeps. Even if neither party knows it! Watch out, keep score, and never forget to wear your colors!
I liked the story, I liked the characters, It was a fun book to read.
This book got me in trouble with my husband. I could NOT stop laughing! I freaking loved these two!
I’m really starting to love Kelly Elliott’s books. I’ve been blown away by the last two I’ve read and this is my first by Kristin Mayer. Play Me is a delicious sports romance, that blew me away with the intensity of love, heart and family. This book is so much more than a sports romance, you’re in for a real treat!!
Kendall is one of my favorite heroines in a long time. She’s so relatable, she’s every woman searching for balance in career and love. But fear has always guided her heart until she met Hunter. This ex-football coach gave me all the feels and made me swoon so hard. This man is all heart, he’s ready to fight for what he wants.
Play Me had me hooked from the first chapter. The chemistry between Kendall and Hunter was so hot! These two really light up the pages. Add in some football fun, great family relationships and a forever kinda love and you’ve got your next must read. I’m really looking forward to Kelly and Kristin’s next co-write.
This book was fabulous, the writing was impeccable, and the characters were amazing!!! These 2 authors did a phenomenal job drawing me in; I didn’t want the story to ever end. The chemistry between Hunter and Kendall was explosive, and their banter with each other was hilarious!!!! I laughed, swooned, cried a little – so many beautiful moments.
Sometimes you need to ditch the plans and take risks before you can find your happiness.
Oh man, I LOVED this book. I’m a huge sports romance fan and lets just say this book was just what I needed. Play Me is a standalone but you’ve meet some of these characters before… How? Well this story is about Hunter Owens and Kendall Wales. Hunter Owens is the son of Brett and Aubrey Owens, which we followed their story in The Playbook by Kelly Elliott. Kendall Wales is the daughter of Damien and Ally Wales from Kristin Mayer’s Trust Series. You don’t need to read the others, I promise but, you may end up reading them anyways because they are that good!
Watching these two find their way to happily ever was so good! They tried to resist it, but the chemistry between them was so hot. The banter between these two had me laughing and watching them both navigate not only love, but their careers was fun to read. They both had different goals, but seeing them bring those goals together to get what they wanted was perfect.
The story has the perfect amount of sports, romance and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good read.
WOW what a fantastic chemistry between Hunter and Kendall. The banter between the two are just fantastic and never a dull moment, until they fall head over heels in love for each other.
Kelly and Kristen have written an incredible story together, that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy.
Fantastic read from beginning to end and one of my favourite stories I have read this year and I have read a lot of books.
This story is certainly a TOUCHDOWN for me…

When I heard Kelly and Kristin were co-writing another book, I was so excited because these talented authors are two of my favorite! The special K’s are so in sync when formulating their ideas, their magic flows effortlessly together and this makes for one heck of a story!
What I particularly loved about this a story was the fact that Hunter and Kendell are children from couples who previously had their own stories. Hunter is the son of Brett and Aubrey Owens from Kelly’s The Playbook and Kendall is the daughter of Ally and Damien Wales from Kristin’s Trust Me book. When the parents were mentioned in Play Me, it brought back fond memories for me when I read about them for the first time and I remembered again just how much I enjoyed their stories!
Back to this couple…..boy were they at each other’s throats at times! But that’s what can happen when two people that are similar, driven and somewhat stubborn are near each other. Also, the fact that they both were trying to deny their feelings for one another caused some of the strife. Kendall is a self proclaimed work-a-holic who wants to prove herself worthy of managing a football team. This leaves her no time for love. After a tragic accident with one of Hunter’s NFL football players, Hunter quits coaching to run his ranch. Life for him is just as he wants it…simple. When Kendall offers Hunter a job coaching her team, his answer and stubbornness gets a rise out of her. We learn later why he was reluctant to coach again…but he does offer to be a consultant. Weeks working closely together cause both to experience feelings for each other but Kendell gets spooked and runs. She really was conflicted not knowing how to balance work, life and feelings for Hunter.
I just loved Hunter and really felt for him. He knew what he wanted in life and just let things happen. After a bit of soul searching for Kendall, she realizes even though she lives for her work, she loves Hunter more! Hunter grounded Kendall and made her take a step back and evaluate what she wanted out of life. He helped her realize that sometimes a person really can have it all!
Cheers special K’s! This was a remarkable story with all the feels I would have expected from you both! And clever use of “Play” from The Playbook and “Me” from Trust Me! You girls are good!
I can never resist a great contemporary sports romance, and Play Me is an absolutely fabulous one. It’s sexy, heartfelt, romantic and downright fun, and you’ll be tempted to stay up all night to read it. Kendall needs a new coach for the minor league football team that she’s just taken over managing, and she’s got her sights set on Hunter Owens. He’s sworn off coaching and stonewalls Kendall when she approaches him with a job offer, but the sassy, determined business woman pushes him to reconsider. He does but on his own terms, and they argue and grapple for control in the office as the sexual tension reaches a fever pitch. You’ll love every page of this highly entertaining, feel-good story.

ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
I loved the cover and was intrigued by the premise. Kendall is following her father’s footsteps in managing a problematic football team. Hunter, a former football coach, is hired on to help. The chemistry between them is hot. Loved swoony Hunter. Even though I could emphasize with her dilemma of juggling a home life and running a business, I had difficulties liking Kendall. As a business person, I applauded her efforts. As a love interest, I was frustrated with her indecision and avoidance of commitment. I actually liked both sets of parents for both their support of their children (Kendall and Hunter) and their worldly advice. I found the ending too saccharine for me.
5 Play Me Cowboy Loving Stars!!!!
Wow!!! What a great duo these two make!! I have never read Kristin before, but Kelly is one of my all time favorites so I was more than willing to give this book a try. Well I learned a couple of things along the way, one, these two are great at writing together and two I cannot wait to go back and read the parents’ books written by both of these authors individually! These two wrote together flawlessly, I really couldn’t tell that there were two different authors.
The story itself was fabulous. I just loved both Hunter and Kendall both together and individually. They made me laugh and swoon throughout the entire book. I loved how they came together, I loved how they fought to stay together and I loved how it all ended.
Kelly and Kristin not only give us a fabulous love story but the book is absolutely loaded with some pretty amazing side characters. I loved how a little bit of Country was mixed in the with sport aspect. This was really just a great read. I cant wait for more from these two authors!
Play Me is a collaboration between Kelly Elliott and Kristin Mayer that features children of characters featured in The Playbook and Trust Series and it doesn’t disappoint. Told in a dual point of view Kendall and Hunter’s story can easily be read as a standalone, but if you’re anything like me you will adore their parents, and need to get your hands on their stories as well.
Kendall and Hunter are incredibly endearing, driven and headstrong characters. Their story is full of heat, heart and humor. It’s escapism at it’s best a heartwarming, sweet, and steamy story with a strong focus on family.
If you love a strong heroine look no further than Kendall she’s independent, intelligent, hardworking and determined to prove that she can succeed in a male dominated field.
Hunter is a former NFL coach, turned cowboy who I found to be very reminiscent of Kelly’s previous heroes whom I’ve loved. He’s sexy, kind, caring, and compassionate, but this alpha is no pushover.
Their chemistry is incredibly intense, yet believable, and their banter is fun, flirtatious and quite often argumentative, and just a touch dirty.
I thoroughly enjoyed this title and highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of either author or enjoys a sports romance.
